Like this tune, however I find it to have quite a bit of oversteer at high speeds

It can depending on the track you are on, you can try increasing rear downforce to 550 which will slightly hurt top speed or change rear ARB to 4. What track did you run at?

High Speed Ring- I'm using the car for the ib final chamionship. I'll try the damper changes just for HSR and then try the original for other tracks

Sorry, never tried the tune on that track. Mainly Spa and Silverstone. Let me know if that helps.

FITT Hot Version Drivetrain Challenge NSX RACE CAR review

by @Lionheart2113 :

@@Bowtie-muscle (ABS 1)
Special Stage Route 5 = 1:28.151
Twin Ring Motegi East = 1:26.856

Review: A lot was done to try and get the back end to behave, but it caused a lot of understeer at mid corner. It was also snug on corner entry, but I'm thinking that lies in the brakes. It could get twitchy loose at Motegi which would suit those who don't use dpads. There is more speed in this car, I know there is, just wish I could have found it.

by @DolHaus :

SSR5: 1:28.625
Motegi: 1:27.150

DC: 8

The car felt great at low speed, good rotation on entry and mid corner, could get a little bit feisty on exit but was very manageable. The brakes felt capable but the car had some slight instability issues under hard braking, not a really problem but did catch me out a few times when I was trying to push. The car got a bit unresponsive over 100mph as a result of the higher rear downforce but this was only a problem on a few corners and for the most part the extra grip was appreciated.

Comfortable car to drive. Good turn in and rotaion with a little understeer through the slower corners. Be careful how far you push it though.

@@Bowtie-muscle (ABS 1/Standard Rims) This tune was great. It was fun and fast. Another smile came on my face while driving this car. The understeer was just enough to get me around the corners without taking it too far. A bit of a balancing act during the first few laps after learning it WOW I had fun with this car. It was perfect at Motegi and a 9/10 at SSR5 I wouldn’t change anything on it.

Fast and well balanced except under braking, where it got a bit twitchy for me.
Very close to awesome. Well done.

Impressions of the tune; This tune was smooth as silk and slick as butter, well if I pushed it a little hard it was slick as butter. ;) It was everything I expect from you bowtie, a consistent, easy drive, just this one was too safe, it gave nice warnings of impending doom, but I found that I hit the max limits of the car with in the first 5 laps on both tracks the hot lap was set on lap 2, O_o. If I pushed hard the car would slide past the apex or spin. I could never find that just incontrol out of control point with this car. Well done sir. Brakes great, transmission very good, overall tune very good. The transmission did have one odd quirk 2nd was too short or 3rd was too long take your pick but I found myself wanting/needing to shift half way through most turns.

BONUS REVIEW by ImToLegitToQuit:

OK so I want to start by saying 2 things. First, I probably drive my MR's different than everyone else. I like to use the over rotation that they have to either (A) get me pointed in the right direction ASAP so I can get back on the throttle sooner and come out of the corner faster or (B) use the over rotation to 90 degree a corner or late apex a corner to make a pass. So either way i likem' loose ;)

2nd, I think i have a better handle on Motegi than everyone else because I ran a 1:26.3xx and then loosened the diff a little and ran a 1:26.1xx. Both of which were a lot faster than the testers. I'm not that much of a bette rdriver than everyone else so I'm curious where i'm getting all that speed over you guys. That also explains my 1:25.9xx in my own car. I think it'd be fun to organize a race with the guys in this challenge. everyone pick their favorite setup and lets hit the track !!💡

On to the Review:

I really liked your car. If it's the car that I would have ended up with after tuning, I would have been happy. After about 10 laps I ran the 1:26.3 and went into the settings to see what I wanted to change. I was having trouble coming up with anything, that's a good thing ! It has a tiny little problem going into a 4 wheel push when you change directions and the DIFF was a bit too restrictive for my own tastes. I know a good setup will allow me to just lift for a split second to get through turn 3 and then allow full throttle through 4 and 5 going into the straight and I couldn't quite do it in your car. I had to either slow down a little more in turn 3 to get it done or lift when going from right to left in the middle of the chicane. It was so close though.

I made little changes here and there but each one made it worse and I went back to your OSU. Its well balanced and well setup. Especially the gears. They are very long but allow you peace of mind when hitting the gas. The only changes I made were to the diff, accel to 15 and braking to 10. that gave me a little more wiggle and the other 2 10ths for my final time of 1:26.1. It's a great car man, congrats. just not quite great enough to beat me...hahaha sorry i couldn't help it :sly:

Really handles well I had the viper already and I'm sure I gave it and oil change when I first got it so the pp(pp 608) and hp did not match but could still set the gears right so just set pp to 600

Have to say that I spent allot more time on this one then normal, not an easy car to tame with that many horses under the hood. Feel really happy with the finished product though, glad you liked the handling :).

One quick question do you think you will do the Ford GT's and the firebird trans am I know the fords have been done by others but I have yet to see a good trans am tune

Trans Am and GTOs are on my to do list, not sure when, but hopefully soon. Going to be testing for the latest FITT challenge which will take up some of my time, meaning tunes will be slower other than the 3 Camaro racecars I have waiting to be posted. Maybe later today or tomorrow. As for the GT's, I do want to get to them and the Mustangs also........eventually.

NOTE: Was not going to do this tune yet, but with the latest seasonal (Intermediate) at Trial Mountain, I wanted to use something different. Since @ferrari35 had asked if I was planning on doing this car I decided to give it a go. It has been in my garage since early on, however, has not been out since January at least. Took a quick look at suspension and LSD, made a few changes and went for it. Gold 1st try, a few minor tweaks and it got better yet. Ran 5 or 6 races making only minor changes, including finally building a trans rather than just setting top speed to 168, and managed to constantly take the lead at the end of lap 2. Best lap lower to mid 1:34.xxx range without pushing hard. This tune is built for this Seasonal!!, I will be revisiting it at other tracks and will post a different setup if I make changes. Not the best tune but fun and workable, and will get the job done easily.

Enjoy!
Tuned ABS 1, TC 0, DS3 - sensitivity @ 2, all others off.
Feedback always appreciated!

:D Nice easy win on the the seasonal I had my doubts as most cars in the race are 30 years its junior.
The car lays down a lot of rubber if you over cook the tyres with a late break funny thing is if you dont look at the speedo this car looks slow till you overtake a ferrari or merc:)

The car has alot of potential not only a race car but also as a drag and drift car.
I know its not a complete tune but it does very well at this race fully tricked out this car would be a monster:)

Purrs like a t-rex:) good solid tune just enough slide in the back to help it through the tight corners very good under late breaking

Thanks much Bowtie for this tune ,, outstanding tune partner:tup:!! Ran it in a 525pp/525hp lobby on RH tires at Lasarth (no chicanes) today. I stretched the FG to 2.850 and tightened up the LSD (I use the DFGT wheel) to 15/17 - left the brakes at 9 and hit 212mph :gtpflag: with a 3.48.378 lap. Swee:cheers:t!!

Thanks for the feedback, glad you like the tunes. ZR1 was mainly used for one the the older Seasonals at Apricot Hill, so it should have handled well at LeSarthe. But final drive change was definately needed.
I really love Chevy obviously, but I spent more time on that Viper than most of my Bowties:boggled:, took a long time to get happy with it.
Keep me posted if you use any others and as to what you think of them

Mr. B, sir, my congrats! 👍

The "Bandit" is a blast to drive! The rear controlled sliding is fun, makes me feel like the bandit running from the cops! :D

Well done sir! Only thing I left stock were the rims, for authenticity... Can the aero be removed to make the car as real as possible?

TY! :)

Aero was to personalize and make different, not really going to affect anything to leave it stock. ;)

NOTE:

Thanks very much Bowtie for this tune partner! It works fantastic for my driving style !! In testing this morning at Grand Valley, using RH tires I shortened the FD to 4.000, stepped up the initial torque to 10/10 then drove a 1:52 and small change. :)I am convinced running more laps and a tighter line I can break into the 1:49's.👍👍 At 550pp that's a damn respectable lap at that track! Thanks again for taking the time bud to work up thee tunes and post them here in your Speed Shop for we who just can't get this tuning deal figured out!

Thank you for using them and giving feedback.:)

As with all my tunes, final drive is the top speed adjustment, believe that was tuned at Autumn Ring and Deep Forest so an adjustment will be needed for other tracks. Enjoy.
