Brabham BT63 GT2 Concept '21 Fearlessly determined and continuously pushing boundaries, Brabham Automotive designs the world’s most dynamic cars. Borne of a racing legacy like no other, Brabham Automotive is driven by the same singular vision that motivated Sir Jack Brabham’s domination in Formula 1. The Brabham name remains one of the world’s most iconic motorsport marques with a lineage of champion racers, engineers and innovators. Brabham Automotive continues that rich heritage, driving the Brabham story into the 21st century to once again design and manufacture cars that defy convention. The BT63 GT2 Concept is a new Brabham race car, following the success of the BT62. Brabham Automotive has announced its intention to compete in the 2022 GT2 European Series with the new Brabham BT63 GT2 Concept. The BT63 GT2 Concept uses a new engine set up with a 5.2 litre, dry-sump, naturally aspirated V8 engine, producing approximately 600 bhp to align with GT2 weight to power regulations, but still providing prodigious power to the rear wheels via a 6-speed, racing-spec transmission. It has a reduced aerodynamics package featuring a new rear diffuser, new front splitter and new rear wing, all of which have been modelled on the BT62R with an emphasis on straight line speed. The Brabham BT63 GT2 Concept is manufactured using Brabham Automotive’s lightweight, chromoly steel spaceframe chassis. This FIA-compliant chassis features an inbuilt safety cell with extreme torsional rigidity for improved suspension performance and predictability while also protecting the driver from injury. The interior of the BT63 GT2 Concept is race-car spartan, delivering everything a driver needs for fast lap times with no distractions. Driver aids include motorsport-ABS, traction control, and power-assisted steering, all with fine-tune controls available via the Brabham Automotive multi-function steering wheel. The BT63 GT2 Concept features full on-board telemetry with assistance from Brabham Automotive’s own in-house engineering team available when required. Suspension is via lightweight double wishbones with machined uprights and adjustable anti-roll bars, front and rear. High-performance Brembo steel brakes and racing slick tyres on 18-inch racing wheels provide ample stopping power for slow-in, fast-out cornering. The Brabham BT63 GT2 has a target weight of between 1250kg and 1300kg, conforming with GT2 regulations for a 2:1 weight-to-power ratio. With Brabham Automotive’s recent achievements in Britcar and GT Cup Championship, entry into the 2022 GT2 European Series will contribute to the continued success of the iconic marque.
