Nope, I just got the mag a couple of days ago and no enthusia. Watch for it next issue, if not for sure the one after that. In the US that is, not sure about in Europe.

well, i got a gameracer for 400$ (sale) and will never stick a wheel on a table again. the seat is way comfortable, and being so low to the ground, you really feel like your in a car.
as far as I'm concerned, it is worth every penny, and if you are planning on getting one, don't wast you $ on the full seat, the "club" blue karting seat rocks, and u save 50$

Those Plans on Firetooth are awesome. My Birthdays coming up soon and Im getting a Driving Force Pro, and my Dad says he'll help me build my own cockpit for it, I can't wait!

Orbit: How long did it take you to get it to that stage, and where did you get your car seat from?

DFP(get it today)
computer chair................soon to hopefully be replaced by a seat from my moms 350z(or use one of the racing seats coming soon)

hope soo...............but that prolly wont happen for a while..but my friend nick is getting ready to install some racing seats in his 350z and i might buy one of of him.......

Got the car seat from a car wrecker for AU$70. It's from a 92-96 Mazda 323 Astina, and feels and looks kinda sporty, but still comfortable.

Took me a while due to inexperience and changing of plans part-way through (MDF kept splitting when I drilled into the side of the crosspieces, so they were changed to pine). This is a major advantage of the Firetooth plans (or making any cockpit yourself) - they're fully customisable.

Basically if you've got your act together, you're looking at, say, an hour to cut the frame and wheel-plate out of a sheet of MDF (or plywood, or whatever); another hour to cut the crosspieces (mine are 65cm across, nice and comfortable!), then assembly.

Tips I could give are: Cut the bottom edges of the frame very carefully, as if they are not straight, the frame may not sit straight; measure twice with a set-square and ruler, cut once. I lined up some of my angles with the wheel-plate, which I then realised didn't have a right-angle around it

See a couple more pics at http://orbit.myphotoalbum.com/view_album.php?set_albumName=cockpit and just ask if you have more Qs. :)

heres mine not yet finished
