Camcorder, TV Tuner, etc? What does the majority of vid makers use?

What do most people make their vids with? I have interest in making one...to show off my newbish progression, but I odn't want my vid to be bad quality. I know when I set up my newdesktop is gonna have tv tuner capabilities, but I can't wait that long.

Most people use a video capture card. They're not too expensive, you can get a cheap one for around $30 and decent ones in the $50-$80 range.

i use my camcorder as a digital pass-through to my firewire port. in essence like a capture card.

dazzle is a popular option. It's external and uses USB ports, very easy to setup.

i have an ATI TV Wonder Pro - was like $100 CDN. Can get them at practically any computer or electronics shop.

My Sony Viao came with video imput slots and a tv tuner with the program Giga Pocket, so I can directly plug in my PS2 to my computer. I can play just like as if it was on a normal tv, and hit the record button when I want to capture footage.
