My internet has been slow for the past week. Glad it didn't affect anyone's racing. I did get one Daily Race B in soon after. However, I was on the last lap in Race C and got booted. Have to get this sorted.

You're not the only one, Nate. I lost my mojo a month ago. To add to that, I switched to manual trans 3 weeks ago and I'm just not doing so well at the moment. Apologies to everyone for my several off course expeditions that ended up with me in the middle of the track blocking everyone.

I think the Supra is not so super. It's been mentioned elsewhere on GTPlanet that it's twitchy. It has some pretty quick turn-in, plus soft suspension and poor lateral grip. I practiced offline and figured out (as did @Vic Reign93 and @05XR8 ) that hanging the back end out and sliding around turns is the way to drive this fast. Unfortunately, missing mojo, I wasn't able to do that effectively on race night. I'm not sure it's better than the '97 Supra RZ. @Baron Blitz Red, @Racer283 and I had a nice battle at Maggiore and BBR's RZ was a match for both of us.

    Verdict: neutral

I think my Daigo Saito drift livery must have affected my car's lateral grip. Livery courtesy of kiaryuken1. It's all his fault.

I'm heading south to Mississippi for a week-long vacation tomorrow morning, so this will be a quick take. I will say this without hesitation: The new Supra beats the old one we tested previously by a mile. Looks better, feels more powerful, and far more eager on turn-in. If I had to buy a Toyota (a brand I don't have any affinity for) tomorrow, there's a good chance it would be this one. Too expensive in-game is its biggest fault. Neutral verdict.

    See you in April!

I was very excited to see us get the all new Supra even before the public could get one. I often don't agree with a lot of decisions PD makes with their product but then sometimes they do stuff that so cool like this.
Wouldn't you know it all my excitement ended after a few short laps in the Supra because this just might be one of the most ill handling cars in GTS and it goes way beyond just getting those tires lose in rear. The new Supra will get away from you with almost no warning and zero driver feedback. You can tell when most cars are on the edge and when & when not to push the limits but not this thing.
The Supra feels like its only design is to be a drift car and attempting any other type of racing will cause the Supra to fight back and lose control.
Let's hope the real cars drives nothing like the game version.
It does however have a top speed of 190+ mph so that's something positive.

It also didn't help that this was my first COTW race after switching to a wheel. I don't recommend this car for your first race on a wheel.

Unfortunately this car earns High Beater Mark's and it's a complete disappointment compared to the past Supra's.
My Beater verdict might change as time goes on because just like the constant evolving updates GTS receives Toyota has announced it will be doing the same with this Supra as the Toyota Tournament get underway. So the Supra we are diving now will not be the same Supra a year from now.

I expected it to be faster for the price, is it because it's too heavy?
Anyway, has anybody managed sub-8 minutes stock on Nordeschleife?

I'd say its pretty quick for a 240kW 335hp ~1,350kg car... 0-100 is like 4.1 secs so it should do something like 13 sec quarters?

Its not a super sports type car... there's a limit to what is achieveable for $50k usd.

This week we will be testing another car from Group X, it is the Honda Project 2&4. This weeks car was chosen by @Infineon.

I won this thing in the daily double and I felt like I won a rolling chassis with some wheels on it.

Its nice that the game has this but again, where was the 'use case' for this car? Not in leagues? Sport mode?

    Supra Fun!!!

Well, the New Supra was an eye opener, as in my humble opinion, she's a totally different drive versus the older models. My mind goes to the race at Autopolis, where I found my "inner drifter" being employed more than not. As an automatic tranny driver (yes, STILL), I found the 2019 version better suited to my liking, but I still found my experience in the 20+ year old RZ to be the one I preferred. Just not as fun though...

She a looker for sure, and I'm glad they kept the spirit of the Supra style alive. Was the 20 year wait worth it??? Meh, I'm not so sure about that. The R&D that 20 years should have given it, I thought would have blown the '97 out of the water... cue the MX-5 comparison. Similar to that car, the older version was more than just competitive against the much younger model with all the newest tech. Which begs the question... WHY???

I don't have that answer, but it certainly doesn't justify the wait of an entire generation time wise... it's a fun, way fun and exhilarating drive, but one that needs constant attention to what's happening. Definitely NOT a "point and shoot car", as you'll just shoot off the road if not careful. Neutral status, but looking forward to a real life test drive if I'm lucky enough to see the day.

    Cheers

Did a 07.25.xxx with it on the Nordschleife. Considering its HP, this thing is absolutely out of this world with its lap times. Unfortunatly, it - along with the DB11, killed my Thrustmaster T300 RS. Obvioulsy it's a huge sleaper!

    211 hp / 13,500 rpm
    87.3 ft-lbs / 11,000 rpm
    893 lbs (405 kg)

It's got one of the best naturally-aspirated liter-bike engines ever produced. 211 horsepower per liter. The S2000 only achieved 120 hp/L for example.

After 15 laps at Tsukuba, this was the best I could do. Anyone up for a sub-1:00 challenge?

    1:01.237 - Mazda Atenza Gr.3 Road Car
    1:01.240 - Ford Mustang Gr.3 Road Car

Easily trounces the KTM X-Bow and is evenly matched against the Shelby Cobra. Fantastic screamer of a "car."

Cue Clarkson's voice "Some say this car is bloody fast" Yea, well Jezza, it's not bloody fast with me at the wheel :dunce: That "2&4" must refer to the odds of me spinning out. I put cotw stickers on it for luck.

Back from vacation. Haven't driven the Honda Two By Four at all, but I can say it instantly reminded me of Smokey Yunick's infamous "Capsule Car" that he tried to have qualified for the 1964 Indianapolis 500:

Speaking of crazy ideas, what did I do after driving a couple thousand miles for a vacation this past week? Why, drive in a virtual FIA Manufacturer Series race of course!

    "YOU Are One Fun Car!!!!!"
I really quite enjoy lightweight track day cars. The KTM X-Bow, the Suzuki GSX-R4, The LCC Rocket... All comparatively underpowered but no less capable. Remember the time I used a Rocket to take a grid of X2014Jrs?

The Honda 2&4 continues the philosophy of "less is more". Take a small but punchy motorcycle engine, mount it in a body that weighs as close to zero as possible, and then make it handle like an absolute dream! With zero overhang on either end, 200bhp on tap and a power to weight ratio up there with the big names, it goes without saying that this is one capable car!

    And truly, it is!

It's not the quickest off the mark, but once it's going, boy is it going! It clings to corners with ease, and sometimes it almost has too much grip, you'll steer too much expecting it to slide or understeer when in fact you end up slamming into the inside wall! It's also surprisingly comfortable to drive in 1st person, which is a bonus as I quite like to drive in car as often as I can.

    20190328201010.jpg

The main let down for me wasn't even the car's fault. With my brand new Logitech G29 race wheel and shifter combo, I could shift much faster than the game usually does for the rest of you, meaning instant off the line gains. Unfortunately, being my first day with such a setup, I would always end up crunching a gear or two at some point, losing valuable momentum and watching everyone pull away. Totally not the car's fault, and now I look forward to the next manual car we race that I can use the shifter on!

The 2&4 is an excellent car, and one I'll happily race again! SLEEPER!!!

    20190401140220.jpg
I think someone should tell @Baron Blitz Red that's not how chicanes work.

Also, there's still time for me to make more variants of the Mustang COTW livery, for anyone else wanting one last minute.
