After a few days of working out what fits best, here's a set of guidelines for titling your thread properly:
Road Cars
Single generation with no major changes and no differences in specification: [Make] [Model] [Year]
Example: [Koenigsegg] [ONE:1] [2014] = Koenigsegg ONE:1 2014
Single generation with no major changes but different specifications: [Make] [Model] [Specific Trim] [Specific Engine, if applicable] [Year]
Example: [Bugatti] [Veyron] [Bleu Centenaire] [2009] = Bugatti Veyron Bleu Centenaire 2009
Multiple generations of single specification cars: [Make] [Model] [[Generation] or [(Generation)] [Year]
Example: [Volkswagen] [Golf] [(Mk2)] [GTi 16v] [1986] = Volkswagen Golf (Mk2) GTI 16V 1986
Example: [Vauxhall] [Corsa] [D] [VXR] [2007] = Vauxhall Corsa D VXR 2007
Multiple generations with different specifications: [Make] [Model] [Generation] [Specific Trim/Specific Engine] [Year]
Example: [Alfa Romeo] [Giulietta] [1300 Spider] [1957] = Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1300 Spider 1957
Aftermarket, OE kit or heavily modified tuner road cars
[Make] [Model] [Tuner Details] [Year]
Example: [BMW] [M4 (F82)] [Styled by Hamann] [2014] = BMW M4 (F82) Styled by Hamann 2014
Concept Cars
[Make] [Model] [Concept] ([Event First Shown]) [Year First Shown]
Example: [Ford] [EX] [Concept] [2001] = Ford EX Concept 2001
Prototype Cars
[Make] [Model] [Prototype] ([Event First Shown]) [Year First Shown]
Example:
Race Cars
Spec series or control car, to be used as base model: [Make] [Model] [Series] [Year]
Example: [Spark-Renault] [SRT01E] [Formula E] [2014] = Spark-Renault SRT01E Formula E 2014
Specific racing model: [[Make] [Model] OR [[Chassis] [Engine]] [Series/Level if applicable] [Team] [Number/Drivers if applicable] [Year]
Example: [McLaren] [MP4/8] [Lamborghini] [1993] = McLaren MP4/8 Lamborghini 1993
Example: [Peugeot] [306 Cosworth] [BTRDA Rally Car] [#9 Andy Burton] [2011] = Peugeot 306 Cosworth BTRDA Rally Car #9 Andy Burton 2011
Example: [Toyota] [Avensis] [BTCC] [Handy Motorsport] [#11 Simon Belcher] [2014] = Toyota Avensis BTCC Handy Motorsport #11 Simon Belcher 2014
In all cases [Year] must be a four digit year and the first year of production or competition unless a specific year of production or competition is required.
If the car is already in the Gran Turismo series and your suggestion is to enhance it to Premium standard, please put "[Premium]" prior to the model year.
There may be exceptions and things I haven't thought of yet. Please feel free to PM me if you need advising on appropriate titling.
