I know the developers give the AI cars extra grunt etc and maybe even make your car handle worse to keep the racing closer - but it is ruining the game for me a bit, just like it does in races in Gran Turismo where the same thing happens (the first GT game being the worst - a 290hp NSX keeping up/passing my 900hp R32 GT-R...).
Its possibly also to stop people from modifying their cars so much that they walk all over the AI, which is fair enough.
However, i'm now stuck in the Semi-Pro season (on race 5 of 12, Tsukuba) and have only made it that far through the last few races by knocking the lead cars into the grass/walls etc so they wouldn't fly past me (in my higher specced car... - which the game modified for me to make me 'competitive') to never be seen again. Or by blocking them so excessively that i would have a huge collection of bad sportsmanship flags by now.
I was getting so annoyed with it its not funny. I even tried a similar car as to what they were driving - nope, still got wasted! I turned all the difficulty settings to the easiest possible (where the car brakes etc for you). Nope, got annihilated even worse!
I consider myself an average Forza skill3d player (have all four games, and have finished all four - even got 100% of the achievements for Forza 3) but there seems to be no way i can get past this? Tried it with a R32 Skyline (no grip...) and then a Lamborghini Diablo SV (lots more grip, but 'stock' Imprezas, NSX's, Supra's etc would just fly away from me on the straights and ever so slightly on corners too!) which i tried in stock and modified to the event limit form, no better either way!
I was very close to turning on the computer and selling the game, or ranting off about it like this. Until i discovered that you could turn down the AI difficulty in Event Mode. So now i am going to do the entire game in this mode, as it appears to be the only way i can race fairly/realisticly with other AI cars.
Would appreciate any help/suggestions from those who have managed to pass through more seasons that i have.
I'm not impressed that i have to race dirty in Tour mode in stock standard or modified-to-the-limit cars just to win the race - its not really sending the right message to players, and is taking all the fun out of that mode.
DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A FLAME WAR PLEASE! Such posts will be reported.
