Chip + Component + GTC = Not working?

What are you guys using to connect the PS2 to the TV?

I have the magic chip and I use component video cables to connec the PS2 to the TV. What I am finding is that sound works but the video does not appear (blank screen).

I have the 2002 Toyko-Geneva NTSC J with the front end of the GT40 on it. The disc also has the front end of the GT40 on it too.

Is there something that I could do that would correct this?

Any help appreciated.

I assume you have the Video in the Video slot and Sound in Video? What chip are you using, etc. More info, like do other games boot?
