Hmm, perhaps, they wouldn't want to get too stuck to the past design-wise. Still, there is the odd possibility of them sneaking in one or two details that hark back to past TVR cars, no?

Unless the car in question is like the time-warp Capri 280 I shared on your profile page, that is far above the normal value for any Capri, much less a 280...

Blame it on the recession and the whole Troika shtick, really. Not even classic cars can quite escape having to pay a premium for being driven, when their registration has to take the whole "environmental component" story into consideration... Old West German dinky boxes like Trabants and Wartburgs will have a field day with that sort of thing.

I'd imagine they would throw in some designs that reference past TVRs.

I know, I'll be surprised if mine actually sells for anywhere near that. Not taking anything away from it, it's a well kept example.

Oh really? So I'm guessing there isn't much of a classic car scene in Portugal when compared to places like Britain or Germany?

My money is on old Griffith and Tuscan hommages. honestly, with the car shaping up to be a 2-door junior supercar...

Well it is a well-looked after example, but the seller will still have to cut at least 1 to 2 thousand pounds from the price in order to sell it, I bet. Not arguing against its condition, but the average Capri 2.8i price is not quite up there yet.

There is a decent classic car scene in Portugal, it's just not quite as colorful as, say, Britain's. For example, regarding classic Fords, most of what you could see are probably old Escorts, Mk.1 Capris, and a few 1950 American imports. In Britain classic Ford scene, you can get all sorts of classic and neoclassic cars; Granadas, Escorts, Capris, Cortinas... Heck, even the late-generation Scorpio has somewhat of a following!

Exhaust update:

Picked the car up today after £250 of exhaust replacement happened. She sounds fantastic! :sly: Now I'll be taking trips the long way around on purpose.

And here's the video;

That's a good bet. I'd agree with you there.

I'd say he'd have to drop it to at least 10k to get any interest. I've seen a bunch of 2.8 Capris going for 6-8k.

Ah I see, I'm imagining the vehicle taxes have helped stop the scene become as big as Britains scenes?

After 3 years of ownership the Firebird has been sold for something new. I was tearing up as I drove away and I'm hoping it goes to an owner who will really look after it.

Here is it's replacement, I feel it's a worthy one.

31k miles, manual, 40th anniversary model, Borla ATAK exhaust, 3/4 owners (unsure) and rare over here.

I have some plans for it, nothing major just little bits here and there. There are also a couple of things I have questions on if there are any experts on here?

Mmmm, Borla. Sad to hear the Formy is gone but congrats.

Your first mod should be lowering the gap above the wheels by an inch or two.

Very nice looking. I’ve always been a fan of the Mach 1. It’s aged extremely well, and it looks like you have a nice example.

Those Borla ATAKs are surely something worth hearing too!

I’m by no means an expert on the SN95 chassis Mustangs, but I’m happy to try and help if you have any questions, I may or may not be able to give useful info.

Haven't posted on GTP in ages but I thought I'd come back and share an updated photo of the car. This was taken in 2020 and it now looks pretty much exactly how I want it.
My dad had a 2001 Bullitt Mustang when I was 12 so it made me fall in love with this generation of Mustangs. I know that these were never loved/remembered fondly but they always will be to me.

I will always be on the lookout for a 2003/4 SVT Cobra though, hence my username

Life has certainly changed a lot since I was often posting on GTP but this website will always bring me back somehow!
