CPU Overvolting Software & Crazy Stupid Sempron Overclocking

So here's the deal...

I've got a 754 Motherboard (stock board from an Acer Aspre T145), and a Sempron 3000+. Plan is to overclock the crap out of the Sempron. Don't care if it dies, I just want to get a screencapture of a high end clockspeed.

Why? You may ask. To that I say, "Because I can, and I apparently have no life." Other than that, it's simply because I was curious. :P

Progress so far: Under stock voltage, I limited the RAM (512MB DDR) to 133HMz, so I can increase the FSB as the multiplier is locked at 9X (stock clock is 9x200 = 1.8GHz). I've gotten a bootable clock of 2.4GHz (275x9), but as soon as I hit 276, I get a no post, and spend 15 minutes of restarting to get into the BIOS and set it back to 275. Obviously I've hit the maximum clock for the stock voltage. Now onto the question:

Clearly, it's a stock budget board, and there are no voltage parameters in the BIOS. What I'm wondering is if there's a program that I can use to up the voltage somehow, don't care how I do it. Stock voltage is 1.375V (this is the voltage it boots and idles at), and it sometimes, when running P95, jumps up to 1.395V. Any tips?

Also, cooling isn't an issue, I've got a rather large cooler on it with a 5400RPM fan, so I'm fairly sure things will be cool enough just to get a CPU-Z validation (I'm not going to run P95 once I go past 2.6GHz, just don't want to risk it). I'm not going for stability, just a high clock, so I don't really care how much voltage I kick into it. I don't even care if I clock it to death.

So yeah. Clearly I'm going mad slowly and need my head tested, but meh. All suggestions are greatly appreciated.
 
You are not mad, you are just passionate about your CPUs.
I too like to OC things to the point where they may die.

But thing is being acer it may fail with a 50Mhz Overclock or it just can't be done on the acer board as it has its own SMbus and wont allow other software to overclock anything.
 
^^ I've already got it up to 2.4GHz (from stock 1.8GHz), and I've put in some aftermarket parts, and another Operating system (XP) so I don't have any Acer limitations. All I took from the Acer computer was the motherboard and CPU. I can't seem to hit any higher thatn 2.4, assumeably because I've hit the barriar for 1.35V. Hence, I'm wondering if there's some sort of software whereby I can adjust the voltage even though the Motherboard has no parmaeters to do so.

I've done some web searching, and I've found out that you can (with this board and chipset) actually adjust the voltage, the problem is that the BIOS that Acer provides dosn't include any sections to adjust it...

Solution? Flash the BIOS. Get a floppy drive on it and do it. It's pretty simple. You might end up bricking the board if you do it wrong though.
 
^^ I thought of that, but I failed to find a BIOS file to flash it with that would enable voltage control.

Then again, as you and most other people here would know, I'm basically useless at finding things for myself on Google...

Also, I don't care if I stuff up the board, processor, RAM, or anything else. It's purely experimental, and even though I could make money from it, it's probably worth bugger all as it is (even in a full system).


EDIT: Update, I'm now in at stock voltage with a 279x9 multiplier, to get 2.51GHz. But that's the absolute most I can, it's extremely unstable. If I have more than two things going at once (for example starting CPU-Z while the start menu is loading) it bluescreens. Can't do anything more now till I can up the voltage.

^^Alrighty I'll look it up. Don't know if it would support it on platforms as early as this though.

Bah, who cares about recommendations. Seriously I can get hold of plenty of systems like this so if any part dies, I'll just replace it (not that it's anything of much worth to me anyway). Only thing that will tick me off is if I somehow corrupt/break the HDD from constantly restarting...

It might be on Acer's site? Or the motherboard manufacturers site.
 
^^ As far as I know Acer is the manufacturer, but after some Google searching, people seem to claim it's a Gigabyte board (which I doubt). It's using a VIA chipset.

But like I said, I wasn't able to find anything...
