GTPlanet, I figured that I'd start a thread on racing terms, concepts, and specialized jargon. Racing terms include pole position, holeshot, and turbo lag among others. Concepts include intermediate tires, racing tape, flags, and such. Specialized jargon includes "digging," "wire-to-wire," "turn them loose," and such. Maybe we can educate the inexperienced or not too knowledgable. I'll start with two examples from the GT3 magazine- one for road racing, the other for rally.

-----
Spoiler: an aerodynamic part of the car's body that changes the direction of airflow in order to reduce lift or aerodynamic drag
Opposite lock: A technique in which the steering wheel is turn 180 degrees away from where the car is turning. This is used to control a car when it is oversteering and the rear end is spinning out. Very, very common in rally racing.
So there you have it. Let's educate the inexperienced or not too knowledgable!
