De-Tune NASCAR after oil change

Merry Christmas all! Looks like we did get a gift today; more bonus content!
Question though: My #83 Nascar has 892HP probably due to an oil change.
Thus, it cannot compete in the new "Bonus Race", is there any way to reduce this HP so that I can compete? I'd hate to replace my well tuned and otherwise useless NASCAR just to run this race.

Anything I can do?
I have about 400 miles on it; will running it more decrease HP? Example putting it into a B-Spec endurance race?

Yes, B-Spec races will decrease HP gained from an oil change.

I have this exact same problem. I think you just have to drive it until the power goes back down.
