DIRT 5: General Discussion

MXH
The first official gameplay video did nothing for me at all but these two videos absolutely changed my indifference.

Looks like a Sega Rally Revo on crack and a lot of fun.
that last piece of gameplay of that second video from 6:17 really reminds me of Driveclub. I see the same sort of assets and reflections.

According to this article from Eurogamer its the Codemaster Chershire's engine (which they seem to now also be calling Ego), which is the old Codemasters Evo studio. Which means this is closer to a new Motorstorm title than a Dirt title, and that actually now has me interested in this.

Indeed, it's been confirmed a while ago, I'm just gonna quote myself :P :
Confirmed that the game is developped by Codemasters Chesire, the team that made OnRush: https://www.thesixthaxis.com/2020/0...ers-cheshire-evo-onrush-driveclub-motorstorm/

Looks like they started working on the game right after the launch of OnRush: https://www.codemasters.com/career-opportunities-cheshire/

Looks like we're getting Buggies, Mudpluggers, and Big Rigs back - a la MotorStorm, but with licensed cars this time!

So far this game is looking like an insanely good arcade racer with a great variety of vehicles, hopefully the career is just as good as the car list is shaping to be. Sprint cars will also be interesting as they seem like they will either be great fun or a complete nightmare.

Is there any word on if we can use any car on any track or will all the tracks be restricted to certain classes?

Looks like a healthy mixture of cars and car classes.

Hopefully the game can retain longevity. That’s my biggest concern after playing GRID.

Features trailer is released on PS channel:

Pathfinder event looks fun but I wonder can we bring some other cars to that event.

I just started playing Dirt 4 (via Gamepass) and I see that my Forza Horizon skills translate very well to the game, so I’m having fun and now Dirt 5 is sure to get my attention.

I love Dirt 4 for it's rally. It does some things better than the Dirt rally games, like the team management and having custom liveries.
Plus it has nice little touches here and there, those games lack. I get this direction for 5, but personally wish they just built upon 4.
