Ever since GT5 has been getting DLC, I have noticed that the AI has never driven the DLC in any races. Maybe it is an oversight by PD, I do not know. I personally would like to see the AI drive the cars in the races. Do you agree with this? I have made a poll to see how other people feel about this.

This question does not pertain to the special DLC that was during pre orders or Special Edition packs. Only DLC that has been released since Spec 2.0.
Sorry for not clarifying that folks.

The AI is cheap and can't afford DLC.

Actually, I agree. Would be nice.

I voted yes but ..

Change to Mazda MX-5 TC .. Arcade .. Same car race..

I have not tried but maybe will work ?

I didn't clarify but yes it would happen, but I am talking about in A-Spec, B-Spec and the seasonal's specifically.

There are probably four hundred cars in the game since launch that the AI never drives outside of a one-make race. Wild guess, but there does seem to be an awful lot.

So I'm not at all surprised they don't drive the DLC cars. It would be nice if they did, but there are many many things that it would be nice if GT5 did differently than it does.

I do, but don't want the AI to start driving DLC cars.

If they did do so, and allowed any and all DLC cars (stealths, chromelines, etc.) to be driven by the AI, I (and many others) would be upset since not everyone has them (especially stealths and chromelines).

I'd be fine with it if it's just the DLC cars you have. So as an answer to your question: no.

I can think of two reasons.

1: It wasn't programmeded into their programming code to be programmeded into this program for the AI to drive it in the program called GT5... The Program.

2: The fine folks at PD thought that everyone should buy the DLC so they denied the AI the privilege of driving such cars until the said cars were provided at a non-cash paying one-make exhibition race.

I was not looking towards those cars, just the ones that are released for all.

It must only be an oversight. Technically, having the AI use the DLC is like an incentive to buy it, so I'm surprised they missed that trick. :p
On the other hand, it is a bit mean for people who haven't bought the DLC to make it blatantly obvious the content is on their machine, yet they do not actually "possess" it.

Slight nitpick: the answers in the poll are seemingly from two separate questions. If you were asking two separate questions, there should be four possible answers: i.e. the four "never noticed / noticed" and "yes / no" combinations. As it stands, you're not really getting the proper answer to either question.

They are very well programmed to work ,hence one make races... the only game I have seen do this is race driver grid and forza 4 * grid only has them if you buy the dlc forza hast hem regardless *

No for me. I paid for the car so I want to be the only one on the track with it. I wouldn't want to buy a car just to see everyone with it, I'm the baller with the pimp car :p

As a side note, I don't really see much DLC cars on-line :)

Wasn't the Jaguar XJR-9 one of the DLC cars in the first pack? I guess you can say that that appears in the dream car cup? :p

Maybe the AI are fed up of waiting for DLC.

I wouldn't like to see the Ai driving DLC cars because it would annoy me seeing them drive cars I couldn't get. Imagine being from Europe and coming up against the Gamestop Nascar or The Edge Camaro or being from America and coming up against the Chromeline XJ13.

I know NFS Shift had a Coke Zero Dodge Viper that was only available in the US and it annoyed the hell out of me everytime the AI was driving one, because I knew it was in MY game but I couldn't use it.

LanceVance
...the standard ...

Discovery! .. The standard XJR-9 does not have wipers.. The one in the replay on wet courses on the dream car cup does!?! ...mysterious... Lmao

I would say that the DLC isn't in the original games' code so the AI would never choose it. The AI would stick to following the programming instead.

You make it sound way to complex when it's dead easy. You know how other racing games deals with classes? For instance GTR2: you want your car to be part of all GT cars, Spa endurance, and 2004 GT championship, in .car file change:
Classes="GT, Spa_24H, GT_2004"
It's that simple. PD probably have a similar approach, the only thing is we are not allowed to edit anything.

Yes, and then it's only a matter of time before they start complaining about the lack of Porsches as well. Except the A.I. have the right to complain as they are essentially slaves to the evil Lord Yamauchi. I mean Yamauchi did condemn every B-Spec driver to a life of hard labor only to be retired and this post is going nowhere.

The possible opponent lists for all races are hard-coded. Changing them in a-spec or b-spec could change the difficulty of the races and races would have to be tested again. (What if by introducing a DLC car the race becomes unwinnable, if you have no DLC?)

Same goes in principle for seasonal events, although you could introduce DLC cars with new events.

Unwinnable?
We are talking about GT mode AI, a.k.a. the car parking AI.

Look at a race without restrictions. (there are some in GT Mode)

If you just define the possible AI cars as "any race car", and DLC adds something like an X2010 ... it actually becomes unwinnable, if you don't have that same car.
