So I got MotioninJoy's DS3 Tool and Better DS3 installed. This was working before I fixed my computer. Now only DS3 Tool detects my connected controller and testing vibration works, but Better DS3 can't detect it. I was using Better DS3 perfectly fine playing Need for Speed World and Euro Truck Sim 2. Can anyone help me get this to work?

You say you "fixed" your computer, what exactly did that entail?

EDIT: Just saw you had your Motherboard replaced. Was it a same for same swap? Or were there changes?

Did you try switching the USB port?
Did that, Better DS3 is now connected but its not working in games. When I try vibrating the controller, it works.

Unplug the pad, uninstall the driver via MotionInJoy, plug the pad back in again and re-install the driver.
Might also want to re-install BetterDS3.
I'll try that now.
Thank you so much! It's working now 👍

motioninjoy - Sends shivers down my spine. Even after uninstalling it and getting rid of any remnants I could find, that thing is still somehow a contaminant on my computer. Totally messed up some of my other drivers.

Not to sound like an ass, but buying a 360 controller is the best and easiest route to take. Simply plug and play.

Unfortunately that's true, but if you use only the USB variant it should be fine.
The Bluetooth drivers are usually causing the most issues.

Not if you want to use a DualShock 3...

So I disconnected my controller to use it with my PS3. When I reconnected it with my computer today, its not working with games again. The drivers say its connected though.

No bluetooth here, but it didn't stop it really messing up the driver for my wheel. That was an obvious difference, but I wonder how many subtle differences people could be experiencing without realising it.

...Well this is awkward, digging up somewhat dead thread.

Anyways...

So like, my Logitech gamepad finally gave in. Since I have a DS3 lying around, I decided go Motioninjoy + Better DS3 on my laptop running Windows 10.

Thing is though, laptop does recognize the controller, but I can't calibrate it, Motioninjoy can't see it after two separate installs not to mention no joy with BetterDS3 - and I already went through the trouble of disabling driver signature enforcement via Startup settings.

At this point I'm too scared that if I muck around any further I might mess up my laptop beyond my ability to recover.

Any advice you can spare, is deeply appreciated. Meaning, PLEASE HELP ASAP!!

Not to sound arrogant or rude, but best solution is to buy a used x360 controller and call it a day.

...Uhhh, thanks for your "help", I guess?

Hmm, since I don't plan to game a lot on laptop other than a bout of MAME now and then, so plonking down extra $$ on an extra peripheral when I already have something that's quite seviceable makes little sense, don't you think?

But it isn't serviceable is it?

But it isn't serviceable is it?

...Physically, my DS3 in not broken (the Logitech gamepad is). So, once I get it to work, then yes, it's perfectly serviceable.

By any chance, you don't work for MS, do you? You're rather insistent on me buying a X360 controller...

Did youu install the drivers in Motioninjoy?

...Thanks for the reply. I was going to, then I stumbled onto a wiki site called Emulation General.

And I got scared out of using Motioninjoy by all the talk of malwares this and China that. I dumped it and went with SCP instead.
Right now it works about 80% of the time - analog buttons don't respond to my inputs, and every once in a while thumbstick locks itself up. :indiff:

But I got it going, which is nice. :boggled:

I'm not a ms employee, I just like to do things the easy way instead of fiddling about trying to make an unsupported product work when a second hand controller can be had for less then 20 bucks at the most, but to each there own. An 80% sucess rate isn't that bad i guess.
