In regards to the MadCats FFB. The wheel has only 200 degrees of rotation, Logitech 900 degrees
The hand shifter is almost behind the wheel, Logitech is beside the wheel
The pedals are almost paralell to the floor, Logitech more like a real car setup
Mad catz $250 Logitech $130
I know the Logitech is for PlayStation but the Xbox community needs to stand up and tell Microsoft it sucks paying twice the price for only half of the quality.
I want a wheel in the same class and price for my Xbox 360 as the Logitech Driving Force GT before I give Microsoft and its game coders any money for a driving game. Till then rock on PlayStation in the driving simulator market

MS used to have a wheel for that price. Problem is at the time there wasn't much of a market for it, so it was discontinued. I think it would be great if they would come back out with a similar product as the one they had. Anyhow there are still new ones to be found on eBay from time to time and also a large amount of used ones.

I had an MS wheel for over a year and half before getting a Fanatec GT2.
For $100 at the time (you can get them cheaper now) it was a fairly good deal. I never had any issues with it. The only thing that was really left to be desired was the brake pedal. Nothing a stiffer spring can't fix though. :)

Agreed. I had mine for just over 4 years with no issues as well.

At the time of FM4's release I saw used ones on eBay going for over $100 and some still are http://www.ebay.com/itm/Xbox-360-Co...ccessories&hash=item19caed1234#ht_1677wt_1270 . :ill: (Still not bad if you consider the alternatives for that price) but they have gone back down since and can be had for well under $100.

Yeah that brake pedal was pretty rubbish. I put a sponge under it which helped quite a bit but still wasn't all that good. Nothing compares for the price for the 360 though.

The MS wheel is only 200 degree turning. Have one POS compaired to Driving force GT and Pro wheels. Another ripoff, even on Ebay if I was in the market for one.

The DFGT is a good quality wheel that's cheap but it's not the greatest quality wheel and retails for $150 (I got mine for $125 + tax). I know the proSony/proGT folk keep talking about how great this wheel but I think it's just a good one (and I have one btw). I also have an older Logitech MOMO Force wheel (in my book better than the DFGT) which appears to be what the DFGT was designed from. The DFGT pedals are cheap without a clutch pedal, the paddle 'buttons' are very small and absolute crap in my book and the TIP shift I feel like I will break it if I use it much. There is also some slop and play with the wheel (at least mine) and the FFB is decent. In my book a good quality wheel for cheap but not the best and plenty of other options (obviously for more).

The new MAdcatz FFB wheel is a bit overpriced, at least my opinion. I have not used one yet but for the $250 retail price I'd rather spend a few more dollars and get a superior Fanatec wheel (which is what I'm doing :P ). The new Madcatz is a revamped Saitek wheel from the looks of it and has an aluminum face to the wheel with proper paddle shifters. It's not all plastic and rubber like the DFGT so to speak. I have not heard of how good the FFB is nor if the TIP shift feels cheap nor if this whole package is worth that high $250 pricetag.

The OP seems like a proSony guy stirring up the pot in my book, even if I do agree with him to a degree. I kind of wished MS never discontinued their wheel but it is what it is and we have better options anyways.

Just saying, for the price it's much more worth it then the new Mad Catz. It's a pretty cheap alternative. It's really not a ripoff if you consider your other options for the 360.

Oh I'm not pro sony I'm pro racing games and not into MS ripoff scams.
If a wheel only turns 200 degrees then how can you contider it simmulation driving?
Nither F4 or GT5 are better than the other just the controllers set them apart.

One clarification it's 270 degrees of steering. It's the standard with any driving game. And I don't think its a POS.

Far from 270 degrees sorry to say.
And yes a a POS unless you use arcade mode!

I owned one for a year and half. I know for the price there is nothing near it's quality for the xbox and racing sims. Most racing games on Xbox don't support 900 degree steering fully anyways.

I know it's off topic but in a racing situation you rarely see a driver making steering inputs over 270 degrees as it is.

Don't bash the product until you try it.

A proper sim wheel turns more than 200 degrees, look at the fanatec for F4.
If you get the chance to drive a real race car tg=he wheel goes more than 200 degrees, more like 1080 in a real race car. So if a wheel only goes 200degrees it's not a sim wheel and if the game only goes 200 degrees it's not a sim and if you think the controllers MS only wants to allow with it's system are great then you enjoy loosing money. Sure the Logitech has some flaws but there are addons out there to make up for them and still come in cheaper than the cheapest FFB for abox without having to buy used.

I have, and am currently using the MS wheel. It's 270 degree rotation not 200 degree. Also, for the money I paid for it (under $100.00 U.S. new) I don't really consider it a POS. I've used it for many years from Forza 2 through Forza 4 and many games in between. It still works fine but leaves a bit to be desired which is why I just ordered a Fanatec.

My friend has also had one for over 3 years now and hasn't had a problem, the overall reviews I have seen with them have proven they are reliable.

A real race car typically has around 540°(Open wheeled cars such as Indy and F1 are even less). Race cars have less of a turning radius than regular street cars.

I don't suggest getting the Madcatz wheel. I did a review of it in this section if you want to check it out.

It does have 270 degree turning radius, same as the Microsoft Wheel. My buddy who is very fast on Forza still uses and loves his MS Wheel.I myself haven't used one,but he says it's good enough for him.

I know the Logitech Driving Force GT is only for PC and PS3,but that wheel is great to me.I've put in many many hours into that wheel and it still drives like it is new.Very good wheel for $150 dollars.

Your best bet is to go with Fanatec if you want Multi-Platform(360,PC,PS3),They are doing a deal right now with the CSR and CSR Pedals for $299.I know it's still a bit expensive, but if you want something you'll be happy with your gonna have to pay a bit more.

It's such a shame that you consider Prototype and formula cars not to be real race cars going off of the bolded print.

Then again... What ever mang.

Honestly just save up and buy a gt2 or csr you wont regret it they are worth every penny you will pay for them

The MS wheel was discontinued because it was complete and utter garbage. I went through four of them. One had rumble motors that didn't work and the other 3 couldn't even centre. The FFB is so incredibly weak that you need to use two hands to balance the wheel. No one handed cruising with this sloppy wheel. The pedals? Floppy with no resistance so get ready for a sore foot as you have to hover it above.

Now the Fanatec CSR is the new entry level FFB wheel for the Xbox 360 and lucky us it's way better than any DFGT and at least MS won't allow a wheel that only works with one game like Sony will.

That's what I feel with the DFGT but I expected it from the price and reading up on it.

I don't think the MS wheel was as bad as you make it out to be, seems you had some troubles with yours. Granted the one I had is kaput and a buddy has 2 w/1 having shifting problems.. I do know a few others who have had no issues still to this day.

Pay to play though, I always say. Want better quality with more features? Pay for it. And is why I'm about to pick up a Fanatec setup :mischievous:

Having four MS wheels gave me a pretty good idea of how crappy they were. My above descripition was probably even a little kind compared to what i really think of it. You should ask the manual drivers what drawer they threw the cheap plastic paddle shifters in after they broke free from their tiny little tabs?

The Fanatec wheel I had on the original Xbox for FM1 was 10X the quality of the MS wheel, which is why I was so shocked they expected us to use crap for FM2 after being spoilt with fanatec for FM1.
