There are six colours each though so you can get 12 F1 cars.

As far as performance goes though you effectively only have 2 different cars.

Translation: ;)

Ok,i've been playing GT3 for about 6 months now and it's a great game indeed. However, I'm a little confused with the F1 cars. I don't understand the differences between NTSC cars. I have 4 Polyphony 001 cars and 2 Polyphony 002 cars. They are different colours but have the different values (001, 875,000 cr, 002, 350,000cr). Also,when you complete 100% of the game do you just get another Polyphony 001 car?

Ok, to answer your question, yes you do get another Polyphony 001.

I just got dizzy when i tried to read it...and the AUP does say you need correct grammar, just trying to help out.

i think what he's asking is what the differences are in the cars
well, to tell you
F688/? means
F = formula
6 = 6 cylinder engine
88 = year of production, which is 1988 :p
the F094/s is
f=formula
0=10 cylinder engine
94 = year ofproduction, 1994
s = senna, the driver

part from dat ne news on gt4??

@ Dodge The Viper: 👍 👍 👍

@ jamm: Perhaps you should care about grammar and spelling. Why go out of your way to be wrong about something?

Why would North America get 6 F1's and the rest of the world gets 2? I am not complaining, but everyone knows that the rest of the world loves F1 WAY more than North Americans.

Doesn't Japan have 6 as well.

Isn't it a change made when the PAL conversion got done. ie the 6 were removed and replaced with the 2.

I think (off the top of my head) that most formula 1 grand prix are held in PAL countries. Maybe this has something to do with it.

It could also have something to do with the coding. Different styles of coding for different parts of the world doesn't always mean a fully translated game. If the coding is different, they may have run out of space for the PAL version so they had to stick to just 2 formula cars.

Can anyone verify this? Help us out here!!!

My assumption has always been that even with the somewhat-concealed identities, the F1 cars were too easily recognized in the countries that closely follow F1 racing, so PD made them even more generic - the Poly 001 and 002 'prototypes' - to avoid paying royalties to Williams, etc. Most of the other odd car selections are license-issue driven, so I figure the same is true with this one.

Makes sense, although one of the Polyphony 001s looks supiciously like an old Williams.
