Think they need to change the rules for qualifying for Monza.
Too many fights for the "tow".
3 cars out at a time for a few seasons might be needed to let the teams know not to try this sort thing, While Q3 of 2019 was funny do we need to see it again?

Penaltys do apply on the result of the sprint quali since the sprint quali is the actual qualifying. Who wins the sprint gets the pole and will be in the books for pole position. Bottas doesn't have pole until he wins the sprint quali.
In Silverstone Lewis started the sprint first, Max won, Max got in the records for pole in Silverstone 2021 even if Lewis won the normal qualifying on friday.

Massive crash Sainz with 250km/h. HANS system and the physical neck training etc does its works.

Edit: good he's ok, medical check mandatory.

Kinda weird to crash that hard into the inside wall.
They have a few hours until the sprint race, wonder if they can fix it in time.

Did anything of note come from the incidents yesterday in Quali? Off the top of my head there was at least 3 that flashed up as "will be investigated after session".

That was interesting. Hamilton seemed to have a decent get away, better than the McLaren behind but then the McLaren started catching.

edit: After seeing the replay, he did Bottas the start up after the initial launch.

So, with Lewis fallen back, will Bottas be deployed to ruin Max's race? In either roadblock or bulldozer fashion?

Looked like Lewis' car started in 4th gear. Have you seen the replay with the camera from above? very slow start

Nope, we'll probably hear about it at some point. He seemed to bog down.

McLaren on the softer tires probably helped?

With the two McLarens splitting Max and Lewis this is going to be a very interesting race tomorrow.
Nice Max pole and two points :)

Russell loses out in qualifying to a Williams teammate for the first time.

Christ, was that only 18 laps? Felt like 50.
