Its pretty hard, to be fair to Redbull, to replicate a plain white livery with a single red spot on a modern F1 car where not only is the canvas a much more complicated shape, but you have sponsors who have already paid for and agreed long in advance for a certain amount of space on a specific spot on the car to deal with. It was always going to look half-arsed.

Besides, How many times have Honda left F1 only to return later? They'll be back at some point, i'm sure.

In terms of being able to better replicate the design, the only problematic sponsor is... Red Bull.

I'm not sure Red Bull could have put less effort into that livery if it had tried.

As far as I can tell, the changes are:

  • White base colour
  • White race numbers inside red circle/red race numbers
  • A red line
  • "Arigato" on the side pods

If it's supposed to be "inspired by" Richie Ginther's RA272, the first Honda F1 car to win a race, then the only thing that's right is the white base colour. That car featured a red circle, but the numbers were black and not inside the circle. It didn't have a red line - that was on the RA273, with the central item arriving on the RA300.

I appreciate they've got a lot of sponsors to keep happy, but the main one is... Red Bull itself, and it makes a mess of the livery having that plastered everywhere.

Get rid of all the Red Bull branding, except maybe the two bulls head-to-head version which they can put inside the red circle. Shove the Honda and/or "arigato" onto the side pods and rear wing. Put big, black number on the airbox sides and the nose. If you want to highlight the RA300, put a red stripe up the middle. Done.
At least the livery covers the entire car this time.

The Red Bull livery would be improved significantly if they had not retained the red bull blue base colour on the front and rear wings... Why change a base colour 90%?

Very strange look to the order in FP1, but if Ferrari are looking good then it might be interesting watching Sainz recover through the field from the back. Anyone who watched practice, are they fully flat through all of turn 8?...

Close the gap (during FP2).

Kimi has water leaking into his boots from his water bottle and he is unhappy about that.

RB could at least have taken the correct white Honda color: Championship White. Would also be a nice marketing statement for their goals this season to underline the color choice with the name + heritage it carries.

Unfortunately not everyone is super familiar with the Gran Turismo 1 Honda dealership.

The track is partially wet but it looks like it is not raining at the moment - could be an interesting session...

FP3 was full wet and then to inters. Could be Q1 starting on inters but surely Pole will be decided on Slicks with all cars running.

Rain expected in 3 minutes...

Verstappen leaves the garage late, could that cost him?

The folks who got out first might just get one hot lap on slicks

Hamilton blows his first attempt by going beyond track limits at Turn 1... Sainz has spun it at Turn 1 too.

Verstappen spins it too...

First out lap many drivers struggled with the cold slicks on the wet/damped track. Close call with the expected rain in 55 seconds.
Q1 interesting

That was a badly timed spin for Leclerc. Ruined his lap, his next lap, needs to change tires probably, then needs another outlap before he can try again
