So here's the deal. A member from TSXclub.com gets his front lip stolen at a parking lot by a very distinct looking TSX. Turns out the thief is on the same forum and on many other local forums selling stolen car parts. Ownage definitely ensues!

In fact the thief in question made another account to take the heat from his other account and apologized to the other account for taking the heat yet both accounts were from the same IP. I call a darwin award on this idiot!

23 pages of reading material so far and all 23 pages are a great read!

These sorts of "investigations" seem to routinely happen on Canadian boards too. The hit-and-run, then "The Claw" Skyline theft in Calgary, now this? Pretty funny stuff.

We're just awesome when it comes to this stuff I guess!

That was great!. What a moron!.
They should make a book with those kinds of threads in.

Personally I think some members were getting overboard with all the "We're meeting up with several clubs, come down to your place and kick your ass yo!" Just leave it to the authorities, they did some great investigation to gather the info, and it helped that the thief wasn't exactly the smartest person around...

You can tell right away that he did it because he is so damn defensive and swearing!

Normally, I dont read all the way through something like that, but it was well worth it.

I think the only information they dont have on him is his SSN (is called some else in Canada?)

Social security number? They're called that here as well.

Since he doesn't live that far from me, I should totally just stake out his house with my car or something.

If they did that, they could catch osama bin laden by tomorrow  better than the FBI

Some impressive detective work there - but this scumbag pretty much outed himself by being and idiot.

The use of the enthusiast forum to set up the theft is particularly appalling.

He out right admitted it by making another account and saying he took it. The stupidest part was that he used the same IP address for both.

That's a really good idea, and ive been watching reruns of burn notice, so this should freak him out a bit. Either you chill in your car outside, or have someone in a white van with no windows follow him everywhere. Just having the feeling of being watched should make this slim shady lookalike tremble.

That would work pretty well since you basically have a police car.

I was actually a little impressed with the thief finding out when the guy worked and to know when the car would be available. It certainly doesn't match his intelligence afterwards though.

Loved how he bragged about how well off he was.

Or how he claimed his other username on other forums wasn't jdm_joe when his photobucket with his pictures is titled jdm_joe.

Good read, but I think they went a little overboard going after the dudes sister. I hope the authorities will go after him, but if Canadain police are anything like the police arourd here then.... I feel sorry for the victim. I also would hate to be anyone driving a TSX with a black roof in that area.

Heh, I've been a member of TSXclub for years, but I don't go there too often. I'll have to check it out.

I liked that part too, especially since you could tell he still lived with his mom.
