Forza Horizon 4 Season Change: Autumn Becomes Supra Season

I did the trial three times this afternoon and I can tell it's gonna be a struggle. I put the first 700 PP tune on an Escort Cosworth and I barely stay ahead of the drivatars. Meanwhile the other players keep showing up in under-tuned cars as usual and don't leave the race even when the drivatars are gapping them significantly.

Yeah it seems common, much like the last Trial (although it seems Cross Country Unbeatable AI isn't tolerable for me), I did use a stock car and still beat people who do use them. I pretty much carried my own team last time. Hope that doesn't happen this season.

I'm torn on the Supra MKIII sound. On the one hand it emits a deep rumble that seems rather convincing, but on the other it also gurgles like some ancient race car. Anyway, at last it's beginning to feel like Toyota is actually back in Forza with the variety we now have. Hopefully several models still to come.

It's starting to feel right again. I'd guess next up would be an MR2. Hopefully we get a blowout Toyota month soon so we can get the rally Celicas, and the 74 Celica and Carolla back

I tried the Trial the first time in the Subaru 22B as I already had it tuned for 700p and we lost as 1 team-mate kept kamikaze hand-braking every turn and kept hitting me, 3 others were on a Sunday drive and we had one good player....the 22B really wasn't quick enough. However, the one good player in our team was using the Lancia Q96, O96 or whatever it's called and doing well.....I tried that car in the second attempt and won all 3 races fairly easily (I'm an okay player but certainly not what I'd consider good) and had a good team (5 other drivers who were decent) so we won 3-0.

It's not hard at all. Did it at first try with the Mitsubishi Galant. If my team mate didn't push me out in 2nd race, I would have been 1st three times instead of two. I'd put a range at requirements at least for Team Trial and Playground, in this case 690-700 and similarly in other categories, so people could not show up in untuned vehicles.

The only Autumn event I'm really struggling with is getting the podium on The Goliath....have used 2 different cars at two different class levels and been in last both times, 30 seconds and 12 seconds off first. Not sure what's going on...admittedly I did increase the drivatars to Unbeatable yesterday but I can't imagine that could account for me suddenly being nowhere in somewhat equal cars (being beaten with drivatars in cars 10pp lower). Perhaps Unbeatable Drivatars really are unbeatable or maybe this level is just showing me where my true driving ability lies. I shall persevere nonetheless and hope I get a lucky break somewhere

I haven't done that event, but in general it's very dependent on the car and tune that you use. Look at the rivals leaderboard for the class you're racing to see what the best car is, and see if one of the top people has shared a tune.

Do you mean the Gauntlet, for the forzathon? If so, I just did it without too many problems using an A class 2004 Evo VIII. I was 1st against unbeatable drivatars by 10 seconds, I just did a quick build/tune of the car myself, as the tune I had on it couldn't hit 185mph. I haven't shared the tune, as it was just a quick job rather than an attempt at perfection, but I'll share it if you want to use something that definitely can win it. Note, though, that if just looking to complete the forzathon, you can do it on any difficulty.

I also did it in Evo VIII. Not unbeatable, but Pro and I was also 10 seconds ahead although I did quite a lot of mistakes and didn't bother to rewind. I'm not sure if that tune shared, but I can provide it also.

Sorry, yes, I meant The Gauntlet...these names just confuse me

Thank you all for the advice.....after de-tuning my 2005 Subaru to 700pp and trying again....and coming last yet again. Decided to try running the car completely stock with no tuning at all...and managed to win by 0.5 seconds!! First half of the race, the drivatars were nowhere and I was leading by several seconds...then I make a small error and suddenly they are right on my gearbox and it stayed that way for the rest of the race! Never has there been a wider Subaru :D

Are you in a Team? I joined a team a few weeks ago and the drivatars are from my team and races are much more difficult now. But that's OK in my case.

I love how these posts every week validate my cheapskate tendencies and my unwillingness to pony up for XBLG :)

I used my Galant, too. It's really nice for this race. My team won all three races with no difficulties. The Galant is a little slow off the line, but once she gets up to speed, that old girl will really pick up her skirts and fly.

Yes, I am in a Club...but then I have been for probably a month or more....difficulty hadn't changed after I joined. I think a lot of it was the Drivatar step from Pro to Unbeatable is maybe a bit steeper than the others and I wasn't expecting it.

Actually, all Mitsubishis in the game are superior to anything else offroad. They must have modelled their differential control (AYC I think), because those things just go where you point them without wheel spin and slip and go through turns like a train. Whenever I have an option, I take a Mitsubishi (take that from a Subaru owner :D). Btw. I always tune the cars for handling rather then speed. Mostly, there are more turns on a track then straights.

Erm, what is up with the Showcase Remix? The Sprite is so hopelessly outclassed by the bikes that even by the first scripted jump, they're nowhere to be seen!
The hardest Remix for the third or fourth time? PG like to troll us sometimes. I think the trick is to avoid any obstacle at the quarry so you don't lose speed. But even then. I won with a time of 1:32 and lost with 1:31.

I thought the remix was going to be another "Mission Impossible" job when I tried it the first time as I was miles behind (think it was several seconds)...however, on the second run I used what I had learnt from the first one, namely to keep the accelerator floored, and managed to win just about. Think I only let me thumb off the accelerator 2 or 3 times through the whole event...and cut the corners where I could that didn't involve losing too much speed. The key really is to keep the momentum going...once you slow down, it takes a while to get it back again

That Supra really isn't a great model, at all. Remake them properly FFS.

Still, will be something to move on for the inevitable high credit price, I'm sure.

Is the widebody a real version? Since the front bumper is changed and it's an upgrade with Toyota logo.

I seem to be having the opposite problem from everyone else. I am so fast that I was beside the bikes when I should still be behind them. So when they swerve across the road they would hit me and knock me of the road into a tree.

Yes, the trick is to just hang back a little, and time hitting full throttle so they'll swerve across just in front of you, then you'll pass them.

Something is definitely amiss. I've just dropped down from highly skilled to new racer and I'm still behind by the same margin to the bikes.

The showcases are scripted to be close, Drivatar Difficulty has no effect on them.
