How much fun is it possible to have in a 1955 Chevy Bel Air?

First thing I did was a basic low-budget Corvette drivetrain swap, using a 6.2l LS3 and a 6sp gearbox. No fancy stuff just a soft "realistic" suspension, street-tyres and a healthy 450hp V8 =B700. Code 151 650 304

Off course no wings, rollbars, stock hood and sleeper wheels. Rusty barnfind paintjob :cool:

A nice ride this, but I wanted to try something a bit hotter. 660hp now and a bit moore grippy tyres, nothing else changed
brings it up to A800: Code 748 529 910

But for maximum fun it needs an all out upgrade. 1750hp TT V8, AWD, 8sp gearbox and tuned diffs but still the same soft suspension-setup. No wings or rised hood, bumpers still on and a rusty barnfind design makes it the ultimate sleeper. Must be driven in 1st person view if you want to get in touch with the handling. Passes 300kmh on 5th, 400kmh on 7th. A lot more fun this than any hyped up hypercar!

I was messing around last night and created this. It's one of those races where the drivatars take the long way round to the first checkpoint while you don't. However, for some strange reason the game thinks you miss a checkpoint and throws you forward in the race to 40% done.

It takes about 4 minutes in a Jesko.

This thing is so grippy but the back end steps out lovely. I've just scored 909,000 points on the volcano drift zone. My previous best was 891,000 which I fluked over 6 months ago. This S800 is amazing.

Desert Rally. I'm really proud of this route. Start out in the desert and head inland, then jump down onto the Baja Circuit before heading back out into the desert. You've got 3 laps to get through the pack and win. Good luck.

I just tried the Jam Cup Checkpoint Points Race, and I thought it was great. It’s cleverly designed, and very challenging. Of course I gave it a like. Well done.
Ergo Me Smarts races never fail to deliver in my opinion. I really enjoy the rules they add to the races.

Jump the reservoir at its narrowest point, it will be familiar to those of use whi have been playing the game for a while. It'll be interesting to see if plays of this boost vinyl useage for those with them on the car.

The new Rally Adventure map doesn't look that small to me so I tried doing a long dirt route just to see how long can it goes.

I`ve ignored gifted cars for months now, no reason to fill up my garage with other players useless trash. But I decided to make one exeption the other day when I got a gift from some Chinese player; "let`s see what this can be.."

It was a GMC Vandura, kind of as expected. But I decided to take it as a challenge; "let`s see if it`s possible to something out of this".
First I did was to hot up the stock engine, give it a six-speed close-ratio gearbox and a tuned suspension. Some wider tires on and it ended up as a "sporty" B-class van.

B-class 6-speed blower van: 177 969 927

Nice. But still a bit heavy so I maxed it out, AWD`ed it and gave it the 1750hp twinturbo V8 + a 8-speed. Now we`re talking! I ended up playing around with this supervan for several days, terrorizing youngsters in hypercars and setting new two-wheel records around the map. Found a faded out barn-find paintjob made by one of my fav paintes "theDELTOR".

I've just learned how to create logos myself in FH and I have made a couple of simple designs to get myself used to the process. A Horizon Rally version of Fumio Nuruhara's Advan Evo X and some street designs for the CTS-V5 Blackwing. If you think any look good I would massively appreciate any Downloads 🙂👍

Edit- I've had a good few downloads from my Evo and especially the White Caddy so if anyone here as downloaded any of my stuff I really appreciate it.
Just got the LC500, I made all the Logos ready for this Liberty Walk Wide Body and unlocked the car as quickly as possible to try and beat the crowd but unsurprisingly the usual suspects got designs up almost instantaniously.

That Advan Evo is pure class. I've been biased toward Advan liveries since I first saw the Viper STP Taisan in GT2 and I've been convinced that any car looks good with this kind of color and scheme. Amazing work overall.

It was my first livery I did so its my favourite too. My most popular is the white Caddy by some margin which with the time I took on things like the Evo and SpaceX buggy is a bit upsetting 😂

Edit - Just made a V2 of the Buggy. I think Its better than the first one. Even though I like the clean Minimalist design of the first one the second is just better to look at..

Great stuff guys. I'm currently working on the Logos for 2 Mission-R projects atm. One of those was going to be a Brumos throwback/Tribute so I think I will do my other Idea first given Populuxe has beaten me to it. 😄

After spending what feels like way-too-damn-long building this thing, I made a new dirt track for the first time in a while. It uses the Arch of Mulege circuit as the starting location, as well as most of the layout. The main differences are that the course uses the dirt section to the left of the normal circuit, and the main portion of the track that goes through the village has been converted from tarmac to dirt and narrowed up. This was done largely to avoid crashing into the posts that line the street, which was a bit of an issue given the significantly reduced grip.

There's 2 variations of the course with 2 races each, one with jumps (as shown below), and one without. I would say that A-class and below is probably best for the track given the narrow dirt section, though you can run higher-performance cars if you feel brave.

These are the events, and each race is run over 2 laps:

  • Mulege Rally Racer Rivalry (Evo Vs. Impreza, 178 001 750, No Jumps)
  • Arch of Mulege Classic Scramble (175 036 298, No Jumps)
  • Mulege Stadium Truck Stampede (RJ Anderson Brand Race, 361 764 197, Jumps present)
  • Mulege Village Stampede (451 261 632, Jumps Present)
I also went and did some revamps on a couple of my much older dirt races. For my Baja Landrush course that's located and the Baja Festival Hub track, I added some more light sources to better illuminate some of the darker portions of the track, and I also re-drew the racing line and checkpoints so that the AI could be a bit more competitive (although it's still really easy to run away from them once you get in front, like with most Eventlab races). The vehicle choices for both events take some inspiration from the vehicle classes in DiRT 2's Landrush races.

  • Baja Landrush: Raid vs "Stock" 4x4 (165 036 306)
  • Baja Landrush: Bugs vs. Trophies (142 704 616)
Finally, I also revamped my very old Playa Azul Rallycross course. The 2 biggest differences are the usage of barriers in the little central park area, mostly to make the track look a bit more like an actual Horizon race, and re-doing the main dirt alley run after the start line. This has been extended, and has a tight harpin at the end of it, meaning you'll be braking from high speed on a dirt road into a very tight turn, so watch out for that.

Unfortunately, the AI has a habit of bunching up here on the first lap especially, so expect to get bumped around a bit. Each event has a reduced Drivatar count to help alleviate this issue, though at some point down the line I may try messing around with this a bit more.
