1.Take your favourite high performance cars on a time trial, hold the brake and rev that engine. See if you can get flames coming out of the exhaust/tail pipes. For some cars you can but need to blip the throttle within a certain rev band. For others you only see fire when you downshift. Always a nice thing to master though for when racing online, lining up on the grid :)

2.Time trial mode again - complete a lap of any track without touching the brakes and without invalidating the lap. This is an art in itself.

3.Try a few tracks in reverse that aren't already set up in reverse.

4.See which cars you can and can't roll (I guess Trial Mountain is the best place for this)

5.Go to your garage and if you have a Jaguar E-Type, start her up. Weird sound huh? That's because at first, the engine didn't start on the first turn, only the second. At some point PD "patched" this by playing some random engine/crowd noise over the first part.

6.Create a giant killer car. You know all those 276bhp Japanese cars that aren't as cool as an Impreze, Lancer, Skyline etc...or some of those powerful yet pedestrian looking US cars? Slam them a little and tune them up, take them online (eventually) and surprise a few folks.

7.Win a race in reverse gear. You might not want to aim too high with the opposition though :)

lol, some of those things are exactly what i do! i find that one of the best cars for shooting flames is the ford mk4! oh and it makes a suprisingly good drift car as well! But i might give those other a go! nice list btw!
i guess 4 out if 7 ent too bad!

I love the Mark IV! Awesome engine sound, sounds so primitive but ferocious. The Chapparal 2J is good fun if you can get it too, very fast, try hitting the jump at Cape Ring flat, and land/control it through the next corner. And at Trial Mountain it levitates :)

Another suggestion I was going to make but I need to research and will probably be another thread, is finding the closest tunes to replicate "specials" of some models, as some have done with the McLaren F1/GTR/LM. I need to look up the settings for the Veyron Supersport, but also more obscure specials such as the Aston Martin Vantage 600 Le Mans.

Ah the flying fridge! the UCD coughed it up the other day but i didint invest...:dunce:!

I got my 2J free and with 0.0 miles :D
Yay birthday ticket!

#2 definitely applies to me. I have a bit of an obsession with the Nurburgring whenever I'm playing GT5. Trying to shave countless seconds to get the best lap possible. I've lost count how many times I've had to restart the lap because I screwed up on a section or cut the grass more than I though.

#6 too. I've been liking those 'lesser' cars and finding them to be quite beastly in some regards, especially once you've invested enough mods on them. The VW Sambabus and Honda Odyssey were a pleasant surprise.

Meh, it's not much.

Can't agree with that, for a 1970 race car it is very fast and very planted (those fans must help), i've been running it in the Dream Car Championship and it's a contender.

But I guess if you mean it isn't the fastest car in the game, that's not what I meant, but you won't get much out of the game if that's all you are interested in.

Hotlapping on Trial Mountain.. or just going off that jump that is before the start/finish line, really fun to see how cars react to flipping.

Do a few doughnuts on The Top Gear track. I choose the car at random :)

If I have a bit more time (15 mins) I go on LaSarthe time/weather change to drive around in the night.

Take your favorite car to a track with tire wear on.
Burn the rear tires off until there is zero tread left.
Start your time trail :)

to #6:
VW Bus. It will beat mediocre drivers in GTRs on short tracks with lots of turns. (Tsukuba is a good place to use it)

Just a fiew minutes?

I turn the system on, Wait for it to load, navigate through the menus, set up a practice, and just before clicking on start race, my fiew minutes is up and I shut it down.

That sounds like great fun!!1 :):)

I enjoy doing time attacks on stock condition cars.

Do random races. Thinking about putting those into my fanfic but I can't be bothered to do so.

And practice tuning cars. I have that Wangan obsession yet again so I tuned cars for SSR7. So far, I've made an Aristo go 345 km/h and that premium Evo VI also maxed out at 315 km/h. And also thinking again about putting SSR7 into my fanfic but I'm still too lazy.

Go into arcade... Hold a 71 lap enduro on the tgtt and see which ai (or even u) can last the longest with your tyres... It is a great joy seeing a 9+ car pile-up when the ai eventually run into each other at the intersections :)... or even them completely overshooting the brakes through hammer-head hahah... Took some amazing pics btw

Double that time by going into GT Auto too :)

I loved the Kubelwagen event and can't believe I hadn't thought of running arcade races at the TGTT...awesome!

Seeing how much height you can get off of jumps with different cars. There's a massive jump on the Nordshleif if you drive it backwards ( I think it's the Flugplatz, you get more air going the wrong way!)

Sweet! I miss that very slight jump early on, it was in GT4, I think Forza too (well Forza 1 anyway, haven't played the others) but in GT5 none of the cars seem to take off there...strange.

That does sound fun, I'll try it when I get some spare time. 👍

Also I've just discovered Karting on the Nurburgring, it gave my G25 a workout but is was awesome.

It has to be quicker than using an untuned 69 fiat 500, at one point it was down to 19mph up one of the hills.

I have never seen 4 HP increase make such a big difference in time before.
