G25 - Look left/right or Look behind

Hey all,

So I have a dilemma. There are only two buttons on my g25 wheel, as I prefer the paddles for shifting.

I would like the ability to look left/right/behind freely, though this requires three buttons.

Any suggestions?
 
thats a real dilemmma :(

i chose look behind on the left button, ghost on/off on the right.
so i have to look to the side with the buttons on the shifter.
 
I look left/right with the standard buttons, the arrows in the gearlever.
And behind with the left wheel button.
 
I look Left/Right with the red wheel buttons and use my mirror to look behind. If need be, I use the standard (X) button for my rear view.
 
I use left / right on the buttons.

If only they'd used the age old method of pressing them both together looks behind...

3 buttons for the price of two :)
 
I had an idea of modding the G25 shifter to allow the ability to look left/right/back by using some sort of trigger/switch that is mounted on the head rest of the racing seat. That way, one can just trigger the view by activating the switch with one's head :sly: Sounds crazy but it might work :D

yeah PD does need to fix that.. ON pc sim racing games.. I use the two buttons.. and when press together it looks back... and these are custom controls yet the game recognize the controls automatically to look back when both are pressed. What gives PD? its a small lil patch.
 
Or you could do what I did............

Dismantle a controller, fit some extra buttons on your G25 and hard wire them to the controller PCB, a bit fiddely to get right but works a treat, you just have to find a way of mounting the controllers inards to the wheel so they don't get in the way.

Way back last year I posted on AV Forums a solution for button configuration problems:

1. Plug in your wheel it diverts to controller 1

2. Activate a wireless pad bring up the controller menu and assign the pad to controller 1

3. The wheel will continue to work as nomal including the shifter buttons but simultaneously with the pad as controller 1

4. Install / dismantle a wireless pad into your setup if required or as I did temporarily centre the wireless pad to the wheel via blu-tac/sticky putty product.

5. Reconfigure the pad in the controller menu of the game to your liking.

This has continued to work since the original release of Prologue and with every update and firmware update so far.

Oh and you can use the analogue controls for left/right viewing which also allows you to manually change the view amount.
