Gran Turismo 4 soundtrack question

I was looking at the confirmed list of music in the game on the site, and i saw that Van Halen's Panama wasn't mentioned and neither was Feeder's brilliant song Shatter. Why is this? ( i assume that the list on this site is for the American release as they always get their own soundtrack to what the rest of the world gets)
 
If you're talking about a list on the american site, then those songs probably aren't listed because the American will get a crappy soundtrack for some reason.

I have my own soundtrack question: How the hell do I get the songs to shuffle while racing!?

I'd like to know how to do this as well because then i'd get to listen to some of the other tracks.
 
i thought the soundtrack stays the same throughout, the japanese version has many English sung songs including classic rock, not to mention that wonderful song on the E3 trailer (by a band named D.S. ive herd)

I only found out recently but D.S = Dakota Star
 
I think I heard somewhere that the GT4 soundtrack for the Japanese version will remain the same for the American and European releases. Besides, there's nothing really confirmed about a final soundtrack list for the other releases just yet.
 
Those aren't all on the soundtrack though. Here is the list:

In the GT4 issue of OPM, they showed off a "complete" soundtrack list that was about 32 songs long. So either they were entirely wrong about it being "complete," or America will get shafted again.
 
I'm sure that anyone who has the PAL version OR Japanese version of GT3:A SPEC will agree that the soundtrack to our version was probably a bit better than the one the Americans got. All i need to say is:

Feeder:Buck Rogers
Feeder: Just A Day
Feeder: Seven Days in The Sun

I feel sorry for the Americans not having these 3 songs on the game. Although they did get Jimi and Kravitz instead.


So did you American players of Gran Turismo 1 get Feeder on your soundtrack as well?

Yes I loved those songs, although I've found not many people like it.

I have the north american version of GT1 and I simply turned the music off on the whole game.
One day, I went to my friends house and played his japanese copy of GT1. And I was simply amazed by the songs, so, I found this site...

Gran Turismo - Original Game Soundtrack

... and boy, I'm glad I bought it! I've even made a copy to listen on a daily basis and stored the original...

hmmmmmmm, thats the 3rd or so different soundtrack ive seen to gt1.

the PAL version of GT1 had

Feeder - Sweet 16
Feeder - Tangerine instrumental
Feeder - Shade instrumental
Feeder - Chicken on a bone instrumental

Well, that's the original soundtrack of the japanese version. Moon Over The Castle (opening theme) is the GT anthem for all GT games in Japan, but the international versions have their own opening songs. And they're all different...
 
I downloaded the GT4 soundtrack from the internt there were only about 12 songs of somthing. Only 3 of them were in-game music the rest were from menus like the garge etc, if anyone can find the full GT4 soundtrack with all the ingame music in it would be great

Well I only have Feeder - Shatter from the new soundtrack, and it's gonna be easily one of the bestsongs in the game. If you liked their songs in GT3 A SPEC, ull like this one.

break down by Dakota Star
What to belive by Allen Brey and Dakota Star
Soul surfer by Dakota Star

and i bunch of menu music from the game

I loved the music from GTP, and someone on here kindly ripped it off the DVD and posted some MP3's for us to download.

Has anyone been able to do the same for GT4 yet? I'd very much like to listen to the music before the game is released.

I'll get around to that eventually, but 100 songs is a whole lot to rip from the game, especially when I'm doing it by stealing the audio output.

Tumble and fall is kinda boring, they've never been the same since Jon Lee died. I must admit though Shatter is brilliant. Although it seems to be the thing with Feeder these days, great B sides but hugely mediocre A sides. I still think their best stuff is on Swim, Polythene and a fair bit of Yesterday went to soon, when they were sorta verging on a grunge ish sound. Although yes I do like Echo park, although I was only able to get the Japanese version with Just a Day on it, I was so pissed when I bought the normal version and it didn't come with that song.

I'm listening to them right now in fact :O

I have all the Feeder albums to date, and if you liked "Comfort In Sound" you'll like "Pushing The Senses". "Tumble and Fall" is no way the best song on the album. I'd say that it is either "Feeling A Moment" or "Morning Life". I've not yet heard "Shatter", but I'll get a copy soon enough ;)

No rush m8. You've got better things to do that rip game music........like playing GT4.

A real shame Feeder didn't have a song on Gran Turismo 2 soundtrack cos something like Insomnia/Hole in my Head would've gone really well I'm seeing Feeder at the end of this month as they're doing a signing in Glasgow at HMV :) The new album Pushing the Senses doesn't really have a loud rock song which gos well with driving, which is why Shatter is used , which i'm sure everyone wil love.

It would be nice if they were on the American soundtrack cos i think the American would really dig their music, like they loved "High" when it came out in the states, which convienetly kept Feeder touring America for a whole year!

The song is called "Oh Yeah" and is performed by Yello, it was made in 1985
