What's the deal with the supposed Mazda partnership?

Also, I don't think that just because we might get new cars, they will have dedicated Gr.3 and/or Gr.4 versions. That happened in GTS because of the focus on Sport mode, which is not the case in GT7.

The deal is Mazda get to secure their brand in FIA events.

The Hyundai cars came out of nowhere. Noone saw that coming. That may not mean we'll get a road car version of those, but there they are, in GT7.
 
Oh you mean the three Genesis cars. Sure, but that could very well be just one isolated case, doesn't mean other cars will get fictional racing versions. It might be just a way to give a "new" brand a car to compete in Gr.3 and Gr.4, who knows.
 
Exactly. Who knows? That's what the prediction is about. I showed an article of where my thoughts on a possibility stemmed from.

Mazda just now making the 2015 RX-Vision concept road car available. Why wait 5-6 years later, when they clearly debuted their 2015 models in GT Sport? Then, decide to build a GT3 car based on an old model?

Mazda also have mentioned they're building a last hoorah for the rotary. Whether or not it is made into a virtual model, who knows?

Also, there's a deeper tie-in with that Mazda6, as Toyota may be using that platform for a new rwd sedan(I haven't read any updates to that news and in a while). Mazda-Toyota have a few collaborations. In the development of the the GT86, Mazda assisted Toyota.

Who knows what we'll see in GT7?

Edit: Another point goes back to either the GR Supra reveal or the Gr.4 Supra survey. It was revealed PD helped Toyota during the virtual stages of the Supra's development. Same thing could be possible during this new Mazda6 development.

One car I can predict coming to GT7 (eventually) would be the Apollo Intensa Emozione. If Polyphony seem to be licensing cars from DeTomaso (DeTomaso is owned by the same parent company as Apollo), then I believe Polyphony can try in getting the Intensa Emozione to feature in GT7 either at launch or as a DLC car in updates.
 
I don't think being parent companies or something similar usually serves as a reason for a certain car or brand to be in game. We have Fiat and Abarth, but no Chrysler. Bugatti Rimac is also a thing, which is tied to Porsche aswell, and we are yet to see any Rimac in the game. I wouldn't make much of it, PD will choose whatever they want in the end.
 
With the Chaparral 2J returning, I can predict that the BMW M3 GTR race car, Nissan R32 Group A and the Porsche 917/30 Can-Am Spyder can come to GT7 one day as they all share one thing in common with the Chaparral: they were banned from racing.

Nitpick time: The R32 GT-R Gr.A was "banned" in sense that it had nowhere to race by the time JTCC and ATCC dropped Group A touring car regulations.

Seeing as PD added both the 1997 McLaren F1 GTR Longtail and the CLK-LM I feel about 90% confident that they will add the 1998 R390 GT1 Racecar variant, especially seeing how good of a relationship with Nissan that they have. I also wouldn't be surprised to see the R390 roadcar variant neither but the racecar I have a feeling has a much better chance of showing up, especially since PD may have access to those cars if they wish to add them.

I also still have a feeling that they will add/reveal the CLK-GTR strassenversion though time will tell. Highly doubt the racing variant would show up though I would love to be proven wrong.
Seeing as they added the Chapparel 2J back I don't think it's very far fetched to expect to see the Panoz GTR-1 either tbh in race form.

I also feel like the Mercedes-Benz 2.5-16 EVO II will show up, either in DTM or street form.
 
I can definitely see that. The way GT Sport has a road car, GR.4 and GR.3. of the same model. So far, almost has a similar theme: CSL->3.0, E30->E30 EVO.

I would/wouldn't be surprised if we got the ur-Quattro->Sport Quattro S1->S1Group B

There's a reason they didn't do that to, let's say, the Maserati GranTurismo S. There might be a few exceptions to the rule, of course, but nothing more than that.

Yeah, I love homologation specials. (It's also why I loved the idea of the Porsche 919 Street.) I'm also hoping we'll get the Toyota GT-One TS020 as a Gr.1 car, and I'm quite positive it'll come to GT7 either at launch or as free DLC. That said, I'm also hoping for the Panoz Esperante GTR-1, too, and perhaps some other Panoz models - the first-generation Esperante and the Roadster would be nice additions. Not to mention the Esperante GTLM could fit nicely into Gr.3.

I could also see at least two late-00s GT1 cars coming to Gr.3 to join the DBR9: the Saleen S7R, and the Maserati MC12.

EDIT: As much as I'd love the road cars for the CLK-LM, R390, and perhaps other GT1-class cars like the TS020, I don't think we truly need the McLaren F1 GT, as we already have the more iconic basic McLaren F1. However, speaking of Le Mans, I'd add other road going models like the Nismo Skyline GT-R (R33) LM Road Going Version, as well as their racing equivalents. Those mid-90s Le Mans racers could join the 1995 McLaren F1 GTR in Gr.3.

EDIT2: Also, given the Deep Forest easter egg in the latest promo video, I would imagine the actual course would either be present at GT7's launch, or not too long afterwards as DLC. Hopefully, as far as tracks go, we'll get a combination of returning circuits from prior games like Silverstone or the 1980s versions of both Monza and Brands Hatch, as well as all-new courses, both real-world and original.

Looks like PS4 firmware 9.00 has been exploited so any new planned tracks added in GT Sport after 1.61 will be revealed soon.

Tracks being in the game files as text only does not mean much. Even the tracks themselves being in there don't mean much, as proven by all the old tracks being found in GT5.


It's just legacy code and testing. Happens to any codebase after many years of updating. Doesn't automatically mean they're going to be included for real soon. New to the series tracks are obviously a bit different but still nothing is guaranteed, they could have been planned and then canned at some point.

The mention of those in the game data are solely for track-specific sky (and time) parameters, by the way.

From the current GT7 car list(road & race) and looking at the past GT Sport car list(if all cars are returning), the four door sedan(obviously, not including four door hatches) total is, 22. Not enough.

We don't "need" more sedans, we need cars that are interesting and fit the game, just some of those cars happen to be sedans. Let's not forget that cars such as the M4, M3 Coupe, etc, are pretty much the same thing as a sedan, they just lack the 4 doors. In the game, this makes no difference, it's just a technicality.

The Hellcat fits better against an M5, E63, etc (and so does the CT5-V). Is just too heavy and too powerful to match against the HSV sedans or the Ford Falcons, which are very underpowered (though they fit like a glove against the likes of the M4, RS5, RC-F, etc).
 
Based on the past few trailers released, I thought that I would update my predictions list by just making a new one.

In general, more cars from GT6 are going to be revealed in the months to come as this car list. Which will probably include more 90s JDM sports cars and sedans, some 80s & 90s Touring Cars, GT1 & LMP monsters from the late 90s/early 2000s, and of course some other classic Sports Cars. For any new-to-series cars, I'm going to say a few more Porsche models (don't know which), some more classic Sports cars & vintage race cars (indicated to me by things like the Alpine A220, BMW 3.0 CSL, DeTomaso Mangusta), and possibly a couple more newer FIA GT3 or GTE cars (indicated by the Ford GT LM 2018 & Audi R8 LMS Ultra).

Of course, I predict most of the cars from GT Sport to return of course, that's becoming more apparent to me within each trailer or teaser shown so far.

Eh, I still want to make a newer list for this. Just for cars not in GT Sport though. These are guesses of possible additions though, not a definitive list.

Any word about the Porsche 918 Spyder? That car has to be in there. Also it would be nice to have the Mclaren 765LT, Mclaren Senna, Corvette C8, Ferrari SF90, and even more Gr.1 beast racecars.

They would be nice to have, but nothing about them yet. The only Mclarens I saw recently were ones in GT Sport plus the longtail F1 GTR from GT7.

Oh right, I forgot to mention my own track predictions. They haven't changed much from this video I made, though I guess you can cross Deep Forest and Apricot Hill off the list since they're sort of confirmed.

So GT7 has a focus on nostalgia, bringing back classic circuits and cars from the history of the franchise such as Trial Mountain, and the Castrol Tom's Supra. Here is the GT Mode menu from the first Gran Turismo.

Of all car brands featured, one is severely underrepresented in GT Sport: TVR. Despite appearing in every game up to GT6, there were no TVR's at launch in GT Sport. That would eventually change, when in January 2019 the Tuscan Speed 6 made its return. A month later in February 2019 however, Forza Horizon 4 also added the Tuscan, along with another car. And it is that car that I am predicting for Gran Turismo 7.

The TVR Griffith '18 (or '20, as I believe production was delayed).
TVR was 1 of only 2 European manufacturers on the original Gran Turismo. But why didn't GT Sport get the new Griffith like Forza did? I believe that they could be saving it for GT7 specifically. The Manufacturer Series will be getting at least 1 brand new addition for GT7, in the form of Genesis (Hyundai's luxury brand). I reckon TVR given its heritage with the franchise will be getting a similar treatment.

To be able to enter the Manufacturer Series, a manufacturer has to have at least 1 Gr.4 and 1 Gr.3 car in its line-up. TVR already has a perfect candidate for a Gr.4 race car from previous games: The Tuscan Speed 6 Touring Car.

As the road car is already in the game, this would be a natural addition. In previous games it already had Gr.4 levels of power, and I think with BoP especially it would work quite well.
As for the Gr.3 car, I feel that Polyphony will get creative. It might be a stretch, but I predict they will make a Gr.3 version of the new Griffith. My reasoning for it is that Polyphony would want to call back to the old Cerbera LM Race Car from the first GT, and do so with a new machine. Perhaps a throwback livery with a modern touch.

There you have it. I predict not only the new TVR Griffith, but also that TVR will become a part of the Manufacturer Series. With all of the callbacks to the past, I think Polyphony will give this stalwart brand of the series the recognition it deserves.

I'd personally wait until the new Griffith is actually produced, as far as that car goes. I also don't know exactly how they'd go about adding the Cerbera Speed 12, as I recall that one being a bit complicated.

But that said, I'd still have quite a few models return in GT7, like the Cerbera Speed 6, the Tamora, the Griffith 500, the V8S, and the T350C. Then I'd also add the Sagaris, and perhaps the classic Vixen, as well. Or, instead of the latter, perhaps the original Tuscan from the 60s/70s. Maybe even the Grantura could appear, too.

I also recall that TVR raced in GT2 class, and I think that could be a solid basis for a Gr.3 car, considering that GT2/GTE cars are already in that group.

EDIT: On another note, I'm seriously hoping that Callaway returns, as I live very close to their HQ in Old Lyme, CT. We could even see a Gr.3 car with their proposed C7R GT1 racer, as well as the return of the C12 and the appearance of the newer C16.

I'm feeling we'll have all the generations of the Corvette in GT7. It's such a strong name for car culture and for the GT series itself. If not on day one, definitely through its lifespan with updates.

The C2, C3, C4 & C7 are confirmed, the C5 & C6 are likely returning premiums, the C8 is the current one, and the C1 is an iconic vintage car, and we know PD is going heavy on cars from this era for GT7.
