I just pop in to say that I had a pleasant and very fair race at 17:00 CET. As a C driver I think it isn't as bad as you often read and that's why I write it down here... More guys should be motivated to give it a try.

I wasn't prepared and just jumped in as Gr. 4 at Fuji sounded good to me. My Ferrari should had gotten fresh oil but there wasn't much time left before the qualifying. The Quali didn't go well and I started at 8 what could have been 3 or 4.

As I said the race was nice and fair. A short stop without changing tyres and getting fuel at lap 5 gave me an advantage on track and I ended with a fastest lap as third. Good fun and a new hungarian friend! 👍

Yeah I'm a C driver and decided to sign up for it, and than I realised what this weeks race is so that should be interesting.

Edit - Well I'm pretty happy with how it went.

Never done one of these races before.

GT2 B/S Lobby 134pts EMEA

Didn't qualify so started P16 in the AMG avoided the first banking carnage and settled in to 9th

By lap to we were two packs of 3 cars and I chose to follow the guy who understood that we needed to take the high line in the banking.

Last lap it was our pack of 3. In the last sector split I used my nitro as I hadn't used any all race.

That's me, one (won) and done :).

I am very please with 2 wins now in each round!

One word of warning it will slightly affect your SR as you can't always avoid the closing speed differential sometimes (no damage) so the contact can be a little heavy.

Good luck to all who are doing this one.

Just joined the 3pm race in the AMG. Typing this while sitting out qualifying as in this and Nurburgring 24hr 3 lap races qualifying is basically almost like doing the race a second time.

Seeing quite a few Pagani Huayra but still 75% AMG in my race. I am hoping to avoid touching anyone and gain places by normal drafting. Starting at the back gives you a lot of opportunity to do that!

I would even be happy with a top 6 or top 8 finish if there is a breakaway group at the front, as long as I don't dent my SR for the rest of the season! It's been harder to improve SR more recently it seems.

Edit: Result - I was 1st for a bit, finished 6th.

1 - huayra
2-6 - AMG
7 - Aventador
8,9,10 - huayra

Looks like the huayra is doing better now, but I'm in a low split so take it with a pinch of salt!

Qualified 4th, finished 5th and picked up 137pts. I'm glad I used my pad instead of my wheel for this because there's no way I'd survive the T1 clusterfrag . Unfortunately my draft buddy abandoned me at the end of lap 2 because they thought there was a mandatory stop. :indiff:

A few cars ganged up on a couple of poor Bugattis in my race and enforced a mandatory stop on them! :mischievous:

First go, used the R34. Whoops. Managed to finish 8th after the first corner turned into a pinball machine. 10th had front and rear damage, all four wheels damaged and still managed to catch up to myself and the Huayra in 9th even though we were bump drafting the whole time.

Second go, used the AMG and started 8th. Was in the lead group on lap 3 before an RX-7 got pitted coming out of the first corner on lap 3, then veered across and took out the guy I was following. Had to use 3/4 of my boost to try and catch up to the group which I didn't really do so I could only manage 5th. Still better than just about any SSRX race I've ever done.

Blistering barnicles this race was so bizarre!!! Round 2 and they choose SS Route X, ok here we go!

Qualified 6th finished 7th in this wacky race of races. END of story, thank you goodnight!

P.S The whole race was clusterfudge of crashes and loner racing! I need Round 3, Monza will be more fun!

So I'm happy enough that this round is one and done, with a decent enough effort from pole position to finish 3rd in slot 1, GT1 in North America. Lobby worth 178 points I had door 5.

What I'm kind of furious about is the SR loss from full S to mid A just for bump drafting. What kind of crock of poop is that?! Not right at all.

I made it home to do the second GT1 slot (8PM EST). I didn't have any time to practice, so I jumped in the AMG, since that was the meta last time around. There 166 points up for grabs. I qualified Q12.

The race started well. I managed to work my way up to the lead pack of seven cars for most of the race. Then on the first corner of the third lap, I got crunched in the crowd, picking up some damage, and losing the slip stream. Managed to bring home a P8 finish, though. Good enough. Won't be trying that nonsense again.

Slot 1: Qualified 6th, over 1s off of pole. At the start I got shuffled back, then got caught in the T1 carnage as a Huayra next to me got loose and spun across me and gave me front aero and suspension damage. I then burned most of my NOS to try to stay with the lead pack, only for the RX7 I was behind to also lose touch with the pack, so I bumped the RX7 for about a lap until we caught another solo AMG. The 3 of us somehow worked our way back into the Top 5 as others ahead kept crashing, but on the final lap, as we caught 4th place who'd just served a penalty, the car I was pushing moved to pass this slower car, but since I was pushing, I couldn't see the slower car until it was too late to avoid, and I ran into the back of him, giving myself damage once again, plus a 4s penalty. That dropped me from a potential 6th place (or better if others kept wrecking) down to 8th. The battle for the win only consisted of 2 cars by the time the final lap started due to all of the carnage. I then had to grind 3 Race A's to get my SR back to 99 from the bottom of S.

Slot 2: Qualified 6th again, and worked my way up to 2nd before T1, before bouncing off the wall at the exit and picking up damage because I once again couldn't see where I was going when pushing the car in front (yay bumper cam...). Fortunately 3rd place continued to push me, and I still had the slipstream of the leader, so I actually kept the spot. The pack stayed in a line until the final lap, when I once again hit the wall at the exit of the final corner before starting the last lap. No damage, but I dropped from 2nd to 9th (last car in the pack). When the inevitable mad dash to the finish started in the final corner, I took to the bottom of the track and squeezed between multiple cars as my car understeered back up the track due to the lack of banking on the bottom. That put me back into 2nd place, which is where I would finish for 266 points...and SR A.

SSRX is always a bit crazy but last nights was mad! I knew the Lamborghini wouldn't be the fastest car and it wasn't (3 seconds off in qualifying 😬) but it is very strong on the nitro at the end so if you can stick in there you have a chance. Besides it's a lovely colour on a monochrome grid, the first 2 attempts didn't go well with being dropped right at the start and other peoples crashes, but race 3 was what a certain driver would call 'Simply Lovely'

It's hard to edit down a 13 minute race to 60 seconds but I tried:

How does the point system work?

Does it only count your best round/rounds, or does it add all of them together?
Only your last-entered slot counts for each round, and in this series your best half of rounds (one after one and two, two after three and in total) count.

We cover all these details in our pre-series post every season:

It will be a complete cluster or Bugatti VGTs, this weeks was a meme with no corners next week is a Meme with some corners
Except... the Bugatti won't do 17 laps (GT2/3 race length) without some serious fuel saving, the Porsche 919 on the other hand can be driven Harry Flatters for the entire race and still have ~1 lap of juice in the tank at the end, and is quicker in my tests than the Bugatti driven to save fuel, or with a pit stop to splash and dash. The Mazda VGT is also quicker, although that does need a little bit of fuel saving . I've been able to do some tests this week as no need to practice for SSRX...

Meanwhile, yesterday... Q2 after running around minutes behind everyone else in qualifying, got hung out to dry at the start and was P9 entering T1, chaos meant I was P5 going onto the back stretch but I hooked into the quickest draft train and was P2 at the end of the straight. P1 took thr wrong line into the turn and I led the 1st lap, I kept the lead until the back stretch on the last lap when P3 boosted ahead of all of us, I was able to latch onto the back of them and was P2 entering the final turn. They'd already shot their bolt as it were, so settle into the turn, press the button and whooooosh to victory! I more or less ran out of both boost and fuel on the line :)

One. Done. On to next week.
