Disappointed to find out that using ABS default is not only faster but safer. Makes braking no longer realistic at all, I tried it in various different cars and I was faster. Will give one of the races a shot later tonight, and see how it goes but I'm around 1, 1.5 seconds off the pace of the top 10. Wasn't expecting to be that slow but there is probably some driving trick I'm missing.

I guess I was expecting too much from GT7, thinking it would go neck and neck with the PC sims but it doesn't. Add in the flawed tire model and this ABS default thing and it's far from the PC sims. I should just approach it as a fun simcade instead.

Go to the GT7 physics thread and tell people that the game is too easy.

What would have been nice is more start times. I’m not going to be playing at 9 in the night. Have the times be throughout the afternoon.
And I would like one at 10pm Lisbon time.

I only play after the kids went to bed.

Lovely introduction to Nations cup:

“ An unexpected error has occurred CE-900313 “

Unexpected ….. not to me! :irked::banghead::banghead:
Literally just got the same error 5 minutes ago. Just as the 7pm Nations race was about to begin, the very second it was about to get underway I get booted out of the entire game...

Now I've to wait another 45 minutes for the next entry, only for the same issue to probably happen again...

You do realize this is the entire point of ABS, right...? Not locking your brakes is obviously safer, and a computer can detect the threshold of lockup a lot better than a human can. The only thing that's not realistic here is your expectation.

Are they allowing cross play in the FIA races? Can anyone confirm or deny?

I have a hunch that cross play might be the lobby crash culprit?

Can’t stop laughing at this level of ineptitude.

My 8:00pm race started at 8:17pm after we had been eventually released for nearly 30 seconds qualifying.

As no one actually did qualify, the Grid was set for the remaining 14 racers based upon the initial line-up when entering the lobby. Guess who was 12th.

The actual event was GT7 vs UFC. The latter came out on top and I finished in a glorious 13th position. My nation must be so proud.

All in all I think it’s fair to say that I CAN wait for the next fias…..errr, Round.

Only had time for the one race. I guess I am still getting used to the new physics as I am slow currently.
Qualified P15 but got a good start. Guy in front didn't use TCS off the line and I was on the outside so able to go around a few cars. By lap 3 I was around 10th thanks to people going off and general battling. However coming out of the 2nd hairpin a Czech driver pitted me and I went round. No apology or nothing afterwards. 🤬
After that I was DFL and unable to get any pace into the thing. Ah well onwards to the Gr3 tomorrow.

I'm pretty aware what ABS is supposed to do. You can even read GT7's own description of ABS on Default and ABS on Weak, it tells you precisely that ABS on default doesn't work like real life ABS. It interferes more than real ABS and helps you more than it should.

TCS on GT7 is the same but luckily since TCS on GT7 is completely overpowered, even on 1, you are actually slower with it if you know how to drive. On ACC, GT3 cars, even pro drivers run ABS around 3/4 and TC between 1 and 4 depending on the car.

GT7 doesn't even have ABS between 1 and 10, it's just simply OFF or "Weak" or "Default". It's simplified.

I'm not attacking GT7, just saying that it's a step below the PC sims.

Myself and 3 others are stuck in our garages during Qualifying, not a good start...
Yes, same thing happened to me and then the game just booted me back to the main screen. Next race I managed to get through qualifying and then the game froze on the qualifying results screen and I had to restart the game. Been a while since I did any championship events in in GT Sport but I don't recall having these issues with that game.

So I entered a GT2 slot 1. Everything was fine until qualifying. I got the black screen and so did everyone else. I could not figure out how everyone was chatting (press the PS button). Eventually, everyone dropped out.

There was just two of us left and I finally decided to hit exit and what do you know? The race finally started. It was now 8:58. I can only assume we were both waiting for the other to drop out and hope for a gift win.

I started on pole because I was 12th in the lobby and he was behind me. He was also much better than I was and I lost by 8 seconds. I still got 84 points so I will take that!

So do wings and parts help or not?
I couldn’t tell. It did not remove the wing and I could not adjust downforce.

All of my engine upgrades showed but the BOP sets hp and weight.

I’m just not good enough on Tsukuba to tell if I had any advantage…one of my least favorite and worst performing tracks.

I showed up late and didn't know it used a garage car, so I had to scramble and buy one. I went in with a literal showroom stock car and still was competing for a podium, so I assumed it made no difference. But either way it would be nice to get some clarity on it from an official source.

2022 GTWS Nations // Round 1
Tsukuba // 2015 Miata Roadster (ND)
Lobby A+ // GT1

Slot 2
- I was under the weather yesterday and today and pulled together enough gusto to practice for the Manu race but not Nations. Then about 6 pm today after a long nap, the GT bug bit me. I had to do the opening round of GT7's championship series. So, I grabbed a Miata, put in some laps, and hopped into the race. My qualifying was pretty meh, about a 1:12.3xx, good for p12. The lobby was full of familiar names from GTS so I was in good company.

Race started and it was clean. Honestly impressed with those around me, side by side all the way through turn 3 and even Turn 4. It was hard to get a run in this underpowered car, there wasn't much the guy behind could do. Regardless, I tried some different lines looking for a move...nothing seemed to work. Then lap 4 disaster struck as I got hit in the 3rd hairpin. Ah well. It was a good friend and someone I race with a lot so I knew it was an accident. Licked my wombs and tried to not finish last.

Apparenlty I missed the points screen, so not sure how many points I didn't get, lol. On to Manu!!

I tried joining the first entry of Nations cup and luckily everyone is connected and raced like normally! I noticed ~30 seconds delay when about started to quali round but I guess there is some sync-up connection for all players happening in the background.

Can't say about modified parts.
