Looks like there's going to be rain in Round 6 as well as using both Soft and Medium as mandatory tyre at the time of taking this screenshot.

Doesn't mandatory tyre change/usage disappear if wet weather is involved? Or am I too F1 right now?
No, GT7 doesn't have that mechanic.

At the moment it will start dry for two laps in TT, then rain a lot really quickly (the weather moves extremely fast) and then going back to dry. I didn't check any further if rain comes back or not.
But: Weather seems bugged. The sky stays blue the whole time. So there's a good chance the race settings will be updated before the race day

Well that race went as expected. I qualified P16 and finished P12.

I hopped into the final EU GT1 slot with no practice. I qualified in P16, and my qualifying time was 1.3 seconds slower than P1.

The race started and i immediately gained 2 positions because a GTR hit the barrier at T1 and collected the Hyundai in front of me. Then i gained another position because the Audi in P12 ran wide at the long right hander at the bottom of the back straight.

Then at the start of lap 2, i gained another position because the Corvette in front of me hit the barrier, and they spun a little bit, and they did hit me as i was trying to squeeze past, and thankfully my car never spun out.

I was now in P12, but unfortunately towards the end of lap 3, i ran slightly wide at T12 and i went into the gravel which allowed the Corvette back through. Then at T2 on lap 4, i lost another place to the Audi, but i did gain a place because the Jaguar had crashed into the barriers at T1.

Then for the rest of the race, i was just following the Corvette and the Audi, while i had a GTR on my tail. It was good fun trying to chase the Corvette and the Audi while trying to defend against the GTR. Then on the last lap at T12, the Corvette spun out, but i never gained a place because i ran wide at the exit of T12, which allowed the GTR through. After watching the replay, it turns out the GTR bumped me slightly, and that's why my car ran slightly wide. In the end i finished in P12.

Sardegna - Road Track - A Reverse_.jpeg

I entered the 8pm est GT2 slot and was only going to run this once as I'm, like others here, not a fan of this reverse direction of this track. I only practiced 20 minutes before the start and used all of the qualifying time as additional practice.

I, to my surprise got a P11 start and I just want to finish not last. A car is ghosted and does not go when the rolling start happens so I gain a spot. Anyway, not much chaos in turn 1 and I make it through. I was following a driver who was early on the brakes in the final turn and got into the back of them and pick up a 2 second penalty. I serve that and fall back a few spots. By some miracle, I catch up to P8 and have a shot at passing them. I hit the wall in that quick right-hander after turn 1 and lose some speed. Well, the driver I hit ran into, dumped me entering the tight right-hander before the long straight. That spun me, and I get stuck on the wall naturally. So I fall to P13 and at this point I just want to finish. The two drivers in front of me get together and I move to P11. I follow a Lambo the rest of the way and can't get past them. On lap 11 I see a yellow flag and the idiot that spun me had also spun! I take the frebiee and finish P10. I get 55 points and have no deisre to run again.

I wish this was the race I had to miss instead of Spa, but I had no way I could make any of the slots for it. My only chance was 11pm my time and I was to tired to even attempt it. I hope I can finish stong at Suzuka and end the season on some positive results. I also forgot to save the replay so I have no idea what else happened on track in front and behind my position.

At least with this bug it did gave me this beautiful shot of making me car sparkling with the raindrops reflecting from the sun. :D

GT1 Americas | 10pm | 175 pts | Door #6

Qualified 12th, I just could not match my speed in practice. Was able to make up places in the first few laps, despite getting shoved off once in the final turn. I actually made it up to 5th when the two cars ahead of me got the Kink of Death wrong. Ended up slipping back to 7th by race end for 131 points. Debating trying the 12am slot...

Edit: Did the 12am slot, for 191 points, qualified 12th again, finished P8 for 135 points, so no real difference in my points tally. On to Suzuka...

Well today was an overall decent race but not on of my favourite this championship tbh. This track is so problematic with people who cant take the lines and the first turn always kills/shadowrealms someone in the main race to oblviion!

GTWS Manu cup - Round 5 - EMEA Region - GT3 League - 8PM Slot - LEXUS RCF 'GT3 17 - RM Tyres - TCS 2 BB -3

The practice runs were better than my qualy, I was getting an ok pace with 1:43 times. Then we it came to the actual long winded qualifying it was manic.
Entering the qualifying, I exited the pits and this driver in a Porsche just doesnt understand radar and spacial awarenesss decides to go full tilt on turn 2 and destroy my 2nd lap and then it was cause of manageing the damage, ths wasnt help by a few more laps where i kept hitting the barrier on other laps and causing more damage to the Lexus. I did mange a 1:43 time but that only placed me low below at 10th place for the race. Whent he race started it changed to 9th fro some reason so i took it.

I soaked it up and began the race. Start was smooth, getting good pace, turn 2 was a bit manic, but exited cleanly to be in 9th place and chasing the pack but the second right turner caused havoc, everyone accordianed the barrier and the stupid game gave me a 2sec penalty, even thogh i got shunted bya nissan from behind. Great wonderful. THis is why this reverse layout doesnt work but PD are what they are i guess.

Recoverd to push into the 7th place, chasing the 6th car and mainting a good pace to the laps 2-5. Kept pushing and chasing a NISMO GT3, to almost be there on the stretch to get pace and move smoothly from corner to corner. Tyre management was key but they seemed ot hold up entire race. This race ws more fo a sprint rae if anything, hardly any strategy and the crash on lap 1 didnt help anyone.

I passed the 6th place white Supra I was chasing on lap 8 and kept my psotion till the end of the race. A strong 6th place and netted some decent point fro Round 5 but overall the race was uneventful compared to the previous round.

PD should have chosen Tokyo or even Circuit St croix for thsi round instead it wud have been more fun. Hopefully Suzuka Last round will be fun to pot and gain soem places and maybe podiium.

Qualy went ok, a 1:42,048 got me P4.
But i realy hope they get rid of those endless qualifyings!
1 Gran Turismo™ 7_20250416192421.jpg

At the start of the race the Supra in front of me overslept the start. I had to brake before turn 1 to avoid him. At T2 he was a bit early and me a bit late on the brakes. I took the inside line and passed him.

But at the long right hander around the building i was way too early on the brakes in order to stay away from the 2 guys fighting in front of me. The Supra took the invite and i was back in P4.

And that is where my fireworks of mistakes started. The following left hander i was again early on the brakes and another Porsche got inside and said 'thank you', P5.
Lap 2 turn 1 and i met Barry, not fully, but hard enough to loose a significant amount of speed and another Position, P6.
No i was completly lost. I hit the brakes for T2 at my usual spot, which was obviosly to early after that T1 contact, and i lost one more Position.
Lap 3 turn 1, i take it too tight and you know what that means
2 Sardegna – Strecke A (rückwärts)__2.jpg

I loose another Position serving the 1s penalty. P8

After that comatose driving i slowly start racing. Together with the McLaren in front of me we cathc up to russian driver. At the exit of the long right hander he meets Barry and we both pass him. P7
3 Sardegna – Strecke A (rückwärts)__1.jpg

Than i look for oportunities to pass the McLaren, but going of my line always slows me down so much, i just can't find a way.
Until he messes up his exit of T2. I get beside him and side by side we're going into T3. I should have touch the brakes a little bit, but i didn't. So i go too wide, again a penalty
4 Sardegna – Strecke A (rückwärts)_.jpg

I stay in front of him but as i serve my penalty, we swap positions.

But in lap 9 he hits Barry hard in T1 and i'm in P6. But the gap to P5 is already 9s.
So i bring P6 home.

I'm pretty disappointed by myself, because of all the mistakes i made. I think i need much more racing experience.

Another Wednesday night disaster.

First GT1 slot in the Americas. I was in door #4 of a 15-car all-A/S lobby, driving for Jaguar, with 171 points up for grabs. I needed P13 to be my worst round.

Qualifying went well enough. Put in a 1:42.117, which landed me in P7. Not great, maybe, but way better than where I had been expecting to be.

gtws-mc-rd5-start.jpg

The race got off to a clean start. Everybody made it through T1 and T2 without issue. Things were settling in quite nicely. If I could just hold my spot to the end, I thought, I'd be golden.

Then came lap 2...
gtws-mc-rd5-crash.jpg

Went wide at T1 into the barrier. Front and engine damage. Thankfully, I was still pointed in the right direction, but that only helped a little. I was down to P14 before I reached T2. By the time the damage repaired, I was 5 seconds back from P13, with P15 about 8 seconds behind.

It took a couple laps to get over the disappointment and back into the rhythm of the track. I never really made any gains on the cars ahead, but I did pick up some spots to incidents. Crossed the line in P11 for 99 points.

Another disappointing round. Let's see what disappointments lie ahead at Suzuka.

Try the short layout in reverse and it is a different game. There is flow and the possibility for overtaking. The one they used yesterday was bad.

I was (and am) slow and despite some improvement during the oversized qualifying (1:43:2xx) I started on position 13. I have never experienced this before but there was cursing and threatening in the chat during the qualifying and that was already a bad omen for the race.

A pothead in front of me reacted lately at the (rolling) start so I was 12th in the first corner. I was very cautious and slowly during the first lap and got around the carnage. The start of lap 2 I was not only door #7 but also position 7 and tried to get some distance to the guy behind me. I did it successfully as I met Barry R in first corner and suddenly there was a lot of space between us...

Two others drivers had some accidents and so it was a portugese Porsche and me racing for second last place. During the race there were some incidents and more hard words in the Chat. Hard to believe that everyone had B/S-rating... The Porsche was behind me and thanks to some quitters I started and ended as 13. Not great but there was no will to return.

Thank you don don, I like to always give my perspective when its an officla race series, so that other like-minded drivers can see you can still achieve decent results even if you in the lower B or C lobbies.

I'm surprised Peugeot are so low given how many RCZs you see in dailies the last couple of weeks - did people not realise it was a good car until after their manufacturer choice?

I think with the huge BoP change just before the start of the season, people didn't get a chance to thoroughly test all the cars. Combined with the assumption that the major cars were still competitive (BMW, AMG, 911, etc) being generally true, the meme cars (RCZ) probably didn't get the attention they might have otherwise got.

If there was another few weeks between the BoP change and the Manu Cup, then we would likely see a few more makes up there. Maybe not at the top, because I have a feeling the RCZ is fairly situational (only fast at certain tracks) but certainly more common.

Had a rough time with this round. Heavy car plus under steer is not a good combination here but even with hitting the wall a couple times and a little bit of luck on my side I manged to stay in the top half of the race and finish on podium. Glad I qualified at 4th because I would have been caught up in some messy incidents.

What do the numbers you get represent? Is it like iRacing where it's based off your DR or is it completely random?

Almost had a win in the bag until the only B driver in the entire lobby (C/S, GT3) caught me from like ten seconds back (idk. I use VR so I can't check :irked:) in his OP Supra and cleaned me out :grumpy:

The number on your car I believe is your relative DR for the lobby but and I don’t know this so pinch of salt also based on some weighting for times and performance and SR

It could also be random, but I believe it’s more of the targeted expectation based on “things”

The number on your car correlates to your DR relative to everyone else in the lobby and will match your place in the grid pre-qualifying. You'll see this referred to as what "door" you are.

So if you are door 1 you have the most DR of the grid and stand the most to lose and opposite respectively.

This also factors into how many points each lobby is worth.

When you say "the numbers you get", what do you mean?

If it's "points awarded", then it's roughly 5% of the average Driver Rating score (raw figures) of the players in that particular lobby as a points pool, with 10% of the pool going to the winner and ~5% less each time to subsequent places.

If, as assumed above, it's door numbers then - and this can be complicated - it's the rank of your raw DR score among players in that lobby when reverse alphabetically sorted. That gets confusing below low DR B (and now can also be confusing in some A+ lobbies) because a reverse alphabetical sort would rank the score of 9 higher than the score of 8,999 (and the score of 111,111 below the score of 99,999).

About lobby points…during last week race I was trapped because I didn't note during last race I had a reduced SR, very slightly but during this week race I was rank 1 at the start but the points to be get were very low…then I discover I was in a B lobby with guys just in B when I am near A …
It is very stupid that it is not clear you have a reduced SR ..you have to see on your board that the grey bar is not 100%..I had to put my eyes on the TV to see that it was not 100% and the consequences for my points were huge..half points compared with a full S lobby…

I've been doing some tire tests at Suzuka to try to figure what strategies work best for me in the Jaguar F-Type. Right now, it looks like my fastest option is 7RS-13RM.

I did 11-lap tests on RS and 17 on RM. I did two of each test, and chose the fastest lap from each test to construct an 'optimal' race.

Here are the results:

Truly truly truly bad and uninspiring nations season. Impressively phoned in.

Two gr.3 races off the back of Manufacturers, using only the meta cars for the track each time, and 3 high powered open wheeler races.

They should've got the guy who picked the first one to do the rest of the season too 🫣

We're just finishing the Gr3 only championship. Why oh why are they doing more of them? I get they force people to race them and they can get good numbers because of this, but Nations was always about adaptability and driving all sorts of different cars. Not this kind of garbage.

I had hoped to run a couple as I had free time now, but looks like round 1 is it for me. I'm man enough to admit I'm a severe liability in the X2019 and F-3500
