The GT-MES is a 8-race weekly series including cars from the Gr.2 and Gr.3 classes, competing in 40-minute endurance races. The Gr.2 class is scheduled as the „Pro“-class with the fastest drivers and the Gr.3 class is scheduled for „gentlemen drivers“ who want to enjoy the driving and not to push it to the limit every lap. As missing races is very likely, only points from 5 best finishes will count for the championship.

While balance of performance will be off, all cars will have manually adjusted weight settings. After a race, weight adjustments will be distributed to the drivers, with more of each going to the higher-placed competitors. A maximum of 2 drivers can race with the same car manufacturer per class, and a manufacturer can only appear in one class.

Race Type: 40-minute endurance race (1h for the final race)
Start Type: Standing start with false start check
Tire/Fuel settings: 6x/4x
Mechanical damage: Heavy
Visible damage: On
Tuning: On
Tires: RH-RS
Corner cutting penalties: Weak
Flags and other penalties: On
Boost: Off
Slipstream: Realistic

Ticks stay for next 4 races started.

Penalties are only given if participant reports it to race conductors, and after they have been investigated after the race.
Each accident will be judged by stewards, and they will give penalty they see fitting to crime. Previous accidents during season will work as preferences as season goes on. Repeating crime will mean harsher penalties.
Causing an avoidable engine damage: Drive Through (DT), Point Deduction (PD) + DT
Causing an avoidable engine damage with 2 or more victims: Retirement from the Current Race (RET), PD + RET
Causing an avoidable wreck (no engine damage) with 2 or more victims: 2 Drive Throughs

Unsporting behaviour: W + RET, PD + RET, DQ from the series

DRIVE THROUGH PENALTY: Penalty will be served during drivers next race after penalty was given. It must be served end of the first lap, tyre and refueling is not allowed. If penalty cannot be served, it will result as -3 penalty points.
SLOW DOWN PENALTY:Standard GTS Penalty for cutting corners, must be served before the race finish and will be served off the racing line, in a safe spot.
LAPPING CARS: Penalty for a lapping accident will fall normally for lapping car. Do not force yourself past a slower car and do not block a faster car.
RACE RESTARTS:. Race can be restarted during first lap: 1) Huge crash because the lag 2) Driver disconnects (allowed once).
If there is a driver causing a restart, he will start last. Also restarts because of a disconnection are only allowed once.
BYE WEEKS: Drivers will only obtain points from their 5 best finishes from 8 races, allowing some drivers to miss the race. Unless driver does not inform conductors about missing a race, he will be given warning. 2nd offense is DT-penalty and 3rd is DSQ or 2nd DT.
MANUFACTURER CHAMPIONSHIP: Manufacturer will get points from its best result in class race, and unlike the drivers championship, manufacturer will get points from all 8 races.

- The qualification period is for all drivers to put in the fastest lap they can to qualify for the race start.
- All drivers must respect other drivers on track and if they are not on a 'hot lap' must be aware of other cars on the track and make best efforts to move off of the racing line for another approaching competitor.
- Race conditions still apply - cars may not stop on track with the exception of recovering from a spin and waiting for an oncoming car to pass.
- Race conditions still apply - Cars must continue around the track in the regulated direction.
- If no longer qualifying, please return to the pits - this can either be done through pause>exit or by driving around to the pits.
- Overtaking of slower cars is to be the sole responsibility of the faster car.
- Any drivers seen in contravention of the qualification etiquette will be given a warning and may also be given a grid penalty for multiple offences

Season 5 was last season until now with Gr2-Gr3 cars, and it was my personal favorite. Multiple different winners in both classes, and in Le Mans Finale, 4 drivers in both classes had realistic shot to win title.

GT-MES - Season 9 is here!!!

Here we go again, new season starting in Nurburgring. We saw very exciting racing last season and looking at the grid this year, we should maybe expect even better. Championships were once again decided in Le Mans Finale, championship leaders were able to stay on top this time around.

Points- and ticks-system has ensured exciting races, multiple different winners and amazing championship battle drama in past, top dogs usually take over start of the season, after couple races it becomes lot more difficult and challengers are ready to bounce. But to win the title, you need to do it in Le Mans, double points race. Often championship-leader has been able to secure good enough result to take title, but we have also seen them struggle and title has slipped away.

Gr4-cars were retired after 3 seasons, and Gr2 returns. They have in past produced amazing close racing, so lets hope that continues. Some struggled in Gr4-cars in past, they have now their chance to prove themselves in Gr3.

Gr2

11.jpg

Gr2 class was dominated by Honda in previous seasons, winning every title. They have continued this in Gr4, winning both titles last season. They have won 8 drivers-titles and 5 manufacturers-titles because they have had strong constant drivers. With VQS_BenMcK and VQS_VitmnG joining the legendary Japanese manufacturer, they became instantly red hot favorites. VQS_BenMcK from Malta was superb in Gr4 last season, taking couple wins and podiums. Gr2 is new challenge for him, but he will surely be fast. Past 3 seasons he has not been doing enough races to battle for title, so him missing season opener this weekend is worrying start, especially in such depth class. If he is able turn up regularly to races, he will be surely contender for title. British VQS_VitmnG joining the team was maybe the biggest news of the offseason. Arguably greatest driver without title in GT-MES history, return after 3 seasons away. He was beast in Gr2 for couple seasons, but missed out on titles after struggling in Le Mans. He is now back, maybe better and faster than ever, and with all this experience behind him, he is clear favorite to win the title, starting out this weekends Round 1 race.

12.jpg

If Honda cleared out the titles in Gr2 in past, Nissan gave run for their money. In last 2 season they won more races and lead the championship most of the time. Jump down to Gr3 and then to Gr4 did not really bring success, but now back in Gr2, they could be finally ready for titles. German TaZZ_1990 brings experience to the team with his 24 races. 4 seasons in Gr3 and Gr4 have been mixed, he has been able to win 2 races, but there has been definitely potential for more. He has several times started on pole, led races and set fastest laps, but in the end results been bit underwhelming. But if he has not been able to win title for himself, he has won manufacturers title. Other driver is rookie G4 Rotary from UK. He has shown speed to win in other leagues, and team is hopeful that continues here. Pre-season testing reports have been positive for both drivers, can expect both to fight for wins.

13.jpg

GT-MES has seen many different manufacturers in past seasons, but nobody else has been looking for win longer than Lexus. Looking to change that, they surely have made possive start with drivers. Finnish jonirune91 started last season with win in Round 1, and finished runner up in championship after another win later in the season. He will need to constancy to take that first title, in his 5th season. His teammate has always been fellow sota59, and that continues this season. 5-time champion won 3 of his titles in Gr2. Since then he has been focusing more on helping his teammate, but winning his 21st race in Le Mans last season proved speed is still there. Positive pre-season sounds good, but they need to produce results.

1/2 continues.....->

Gr3

14.jpg

Toyota makes its debut in GT-MES, and they have make big signings. Last seasons Gr3 champion Kobr4K_21 will defend his title in Supra. Italian retired from lead to start the season, but 4 wins and solid drive in Le Mans won him title in his first season. He is fast and rarely makes errors, he will be difficult to beat, even more as he is one of only two drivers to stay in Gr3 from last season, so he has experience on his side. Joining him is British Hunty_The_Punty. He is rookie to series, but has lot of experience in Gr3, and has shown good speed. We will have to wait to see if he has speed to battle the top guys, or will he need to use different tactics to get himself in to the title race when season goes to final races.

15.jpg

Audi has always been solid in Gr3, winning drivers title in Season 4. Hoping to win more titles, they have signed last seasons Gr4-champion Road2FURY. Australian started season winning and continued to stay consistent, winning his first title in his 4th season. He returns to Gr3, and Audi who he debuted in Season 5. That season he ended up as runner up. He will be facing more difficult challenge this season than he did in Gr4, but he will surely be one to watch. German rookie DamianBlack is bit of black horse, but we should atleast see him in fighting for podiums.

17.jpg

Porsche has been regular in GT-MES in last seasons, and farin79 returns for his 3rd season in the team. German won manufacturers title in the team in Season 6, and made run for drivers title also. Last season was bit tougher. Winner in past 4 season, he has proven to be smart tactically, so that could be his way to top this season. His teammate will be another veteran Emilius73. He will be hoping to be on podium in some races this season, but will need to be more constant to grow as driver, and more importantly to help his team.

18.jpg

Ferrari made run for titles in Gr4 last season, and is hoping the same in Gr3 this year. 2-time champion Nils is coming from his worst ever season, but positive offseason could get him to good start this season. Locke is representing USA once again. He will be on back end of the season, but will grow as season goes.

16.jpg

Mercedes won drivers title last season first time since Season 1. He1seNBer6 is Italian rookie with quite resume. He will be favorites to win title, but season is long, more experienced guys might make good run to challenge him. EOR_RappyThePro was exciting rookie last season, showing speed but also so was unconsistent. He will need to grow, otherwise season might turn difficult. He is hoping to bring podiums for team, and get them their first manufacturer title.

Season continues in Dragon Trail!!!

GT-MES has been visiting this legendary track every season so far, and tradition continues again this season. There is rumours that contract wont be continued for future, so this could be last race here for while.
It is very fast speed-track, and big speeds mean big accidents, and we have seen lot of them in past. Usually winner has been the one that is able to cut out the mistakes, especially in that known fast chicane.

We saw good action in season opener last weekend, new winner, uprising results. Some drivers had technical problems, hope those wont happen again, and they can have clean event. Drivers who missed last race should make their debut this weekend, so lot to see.

Gr2

They were big favorites going to Round 1 last week, and after deep testing-program before the race, it was no suprise that Honda and VQS_VitmnG dominated the class. Returning driver took the pole easily, and was able to pull clear after couple corners, as others battled. He could play it safe quickly, and pick up 18 points and bonus point for fastest lap. It was also his 20th race, so celebrating it with his 9th win was fitting. He will use his experience well in Dragon Trail, but extra ticks will slow him down. His teammate VQS_BenMcK missed season opener, so will be interesting what he can do in Honda this weekend, especially as he has no extra weight like some.

If previous team could leave Nurburgring happy, Nissan had very positive start as well. Rookie G4 Rotary qualified well, and even though losing position in the start, he could move back to second place lap later. Rather than trying to catch leader desperately, he settled down and bring car home for excellent P2 to start his GT-MES career. In other Nissan TaZZ_1990 also scored podium to start the season. Risky strategy almost cost him, but he kept his nerve, and helped his team to great result. Both cars took as a result weight penalties, so they will be more than happy to get another double podium this weekend.

Lexus positive pre-season, and solid quali turned in to nightmare. sota59 got good start and gained position, but brake-glitch caused problems early in the race. He found himself in P5 before first round of pit-stops, he was able to improve as race got ahead, but it was too little too late, traffic problems being final blow. jonirune91 was looking for podium, but he got eaten up in first corner by Gr3-field, and was on backfoot from start. Even though showing good consistent speed all race, it was not enough to make up the time lost. With sota59 missing next 2 races. it is all down to jonirune91 to keep teams season going.

Gr3

Audi ended last season with win, and now started this season in top spot, even with new line up. DamienBlack came to season as black horse, as a rookie, but with massive practise-program and great knowledge in Nurburgring, he was fast from start. After clean start, he was able to take lead, and as all others started to battle, he could build healthy-lead. That gap was enough to stay out of trouble and take the win in his debut. With extra weight, and deep class, repeating this performance will be very difficult, but he is positive heading to Dragon Trail, track he also enjoys. Gr4-champion from last season, Road2FURY was looking to start season on top once again, but run in to problems early on. He had to settle for 4th place outside the podium. He has not had success in Dragon Trail in past, but will hope for more positive race this weekend.

Porsche was looking for good performance in their home race, but it came from bit surprising direction. Emilius73 took excellent second place in his debut for the team. Good quali-performance followed up with good race-pace, from driver we have used to have been bit off the pace and inconsistant at times. This can be traced to good practice-run before the race, and setup he found. He will have weight-penalty, but if he can keep consistency in this track known to punish drivers, we could see him get good points again. Teams veteran, who we expected to be team-leader, farin79, missed the race. Will he feature this weekend in top-part of the class?

Ferrari came to this season as a bit of question-mark, but Nils starting season on podium was positive start. Good speed and most importantly no problems. Sadly he will miss his favorite track this weekend. Locke had to DNF due technical problems again, and if those continue this weekend, Ferrari could end up with catastrophe.

Toyota came to their first race very hopeful, with signing last seasons Gr3-champion Kobr4K_21 and exciting rookie Hunty_The_Punty. Hunty_The_Punty retiring due technical problems, and Kobr4K_21 struggling with speed already in quali, race was very disappointing for Toyota. But Kobr4_21 has bounced back from disappointing start last season, and new setup should help with speed. Hunty_The_Punty will be hoping for no problems this weekend.

Mercedes had awful start to the season. EOR_RappyThePro caused lot of drama with his driving (and not driving) and He1seNBer6 missing the race means team is rock bottom at the moment. But that will surely change this weekend, as He1seNBer6 heard to being absolute monster behind the wheel, and EOR_RappyThePro expected to clean up his act after warning.

Round-2.png

Legendary Spa

We head to Belgium for Round 4 of the Season 9.
Legendary circuit brings lot of overtaking possibilities, so race should be fun.
Also we hit midway of the season, so many of the drivers have ticks, meaning playing field should be very even. Also from now on, races become more and more important, change to have 3 ''poor-races'' or miss some races has disappeared for many.
First 3 races have been very exciting, great racing and 3 different winners in both classes.

Gr2
Honda experienced shocking Round 2, as neither of the cars could make the race. They bounced back in Austria, with Croatian nikedonna making his debut in the rain, and dominating big time. It is uncertain if he, VQS_BenMcK or somebody else will drive the car moving forward, but car #58 should be in titlefight. VQS_VitmnG had bit more difficult race in other Honda, racing first time in wet. But he could stay out of problems and finished on the podium. Expect him to be on podium once again in Spa.
Nissan has had solid start to the season. TaZZ_1990 collected 3rd straight second place for the team, and that constancy keeps him top of Gr2-standings, and Nissan 2nd in Manufacturers-standings, even without win. His teammate G4 Rotary showed great speed in opening round, but has been unable to start since. If that changes, expect him to fight for the win.
Lexus won finaly in Round 2, but last weekend was back to same normal. jonirune91 stuggled in wet, but pace was time to time promising. Clean race in Belgium could bring back to podium. sota59 has had to miss last 2 races, but that also means he is only driver without any ticks. He could be black horse to make it 4 different winners this season.

Gr3
Porsche has been team of the season sofar. Both of the drivers having win, and second place, even though missing race each. farin79 was unlucky to miss out on win in Round 2, but stepped up when his teammate Emilius73 was not racing. German won his 8th race after tight race in heavy rain. Emilius73 will be hoping to comeback strong, after finally winning a race earlier in the season. He leads Gr3-class, with farin79 second, and Porsche top of manufacturers.
Ferrari was one of the teams missing Round 2, but returned with podium, once again by Nils great performance. German just missed out on the win, but pace was good, so you can expect more of the same. Locke had to miss race again, hoping to make this time.
Audi was on great form with DamienBlack to start the season, win and podium, but he had to miss the Round 3. Will be interesting if he returns with the same form. Road2FURY also missing the race has hurt team badly, but watch them return strong with both cars.
Mercedes poor start to season, and missing last race has put them out of the Manufacturers-fight. He1seNBer6 missed out on podium in his debut, and has already missed 2 races. He is in difficult position, but he is known to be superfast, so expect comeback to start now. ERT_Swably is the new Mercedes driver, he should be interesting to watch in his debut.
Toyota has suffered even worse start to the season. Missing 2 races, struggling in Round 1, Kobr4K_21 has not had start to his title-defence he wanted. He has the speed to turn this around, if he can get his Supra to work.
