Oh well, I guess i'm a little quick on the draw. I thought you put the poll up first then put the comments in. 💡 But I haven't done many polls since i've been here so what would I know?

Less entries would be the way to go in my opinion. I like dori-san's suggestions:

Not to put a lot of stress on anyone or anything, but maybe somebody could say... pre-screen the pics? Like I know it might not be fair, but have it limited to the 20 best entries. Who would decide though, I don't know. Maybe Slick, you could pick out from all the final entries which 20 are the best overall and just put those up. Or wait! 💡 Perhaps along with picking the theme, the winner also gets to weed through all the entries for his chosen theme, picking the best 20. What do you think about that? Like DRT2RM can pick 20 of HIS favorite entries for week 3, and then everyone else gets to vote on those. Whoever doesn't make the cut... better luck next week.

At least it looks like we are gonna have us a close race this time!

Edit: And I got another suggestion about the image sizes... I think everyone's entry should be cropped to 800 X 600, or at least have 800 X xxx so that it's easier to see in image shack. I cant stand all of the huge pictures that you have to scroll across so you can see it all. It's to hard to picture the entire shot... I know image shack resizes them to fit in the window, but it distorts the crap out of them and they look terrible. Just a suggestion though. I know everybody does'nt have the ability to crop, but I'm sure slick could resize them.

good I dea, but how could you tell that they voted for themselves? Even if its a crappy pic maybe it is someones favorite car, or they just really liked it, thus giving only one vote.
P.S. LOVE the Evo! Wish I could have been in this week. oh well.

Maybe something like:
Do not vote for yourself. Any one that votes for themselves will not be acknowledged at the end of the poll time. That means, even if you have the most votes, but you also voted for yourself, your entry will be discarded and the next runner-up that follows the rules will win the week's competition. If you don't support others, don't vote.

I have made the polls public, so that others can see who voted for who. It should help keep things more honest in the future.

Now, if someone went and created multiple GTPlanet accounts and voted multiple times for their own photo, then that would be cheating.

Hey, I'll be honest right now, I VOTED FOR MYSELF! Mine is the Ralli Art Evo, and honestly, I think it deserves my vote, so I voted for it! Cause you know, if it came down to me losing by 1 vote cause I voted for the other person that won by 1 vote, that would have been me winning, and I'd be ticked! It's not dishonest. It's maybe a little greedy, but hey, you do what ya gotta do! Now it's those photos that are just terrible and have no creativity or skill that cause the problem. Like it was mentioned before, they just need to be excluded from the contest. I'm all for dori-san's top 20!

And I don't think anyone would go through the trouble of making multiple accounts, but you never know...

I can have the IPs of poll voters verified, too, so it's pretty easy to find out who voted for who.

It's not greedy, it's common sense. If you can't think of anyone else to vote for, you shouldn't vote at all.

Personally, I fell that you should be able to vote for urself if you feel its the best pic.

I have also voted for my self in week 3.

don't want to make this a polical argument, but Bush was able to vote for himself, why shouldn't i be able to as well, as was said above, if it came down to one vote and i voted for the other guy i would feel cheated

Ditto... I voted for that pic too, great choice of cars! I don't see the harm in voting for yourself, since the vote is public, you aren't being dishonest at all... still, it does suggest that you haven't given the other pics your full consideration...
