Since there are no Arcade Mode Time records, I decided to go ahead and post some times for refference. I chose Mid-Field because it provides adequate challenges, but yet its quick. Hopefully people can look at these times to help them decide on a good car to buy. Since people like the Japanese cars more than anything, I'm going to start out with them and then move on the American and European cars. But the intent was to make a quick and accessible refference.

*Note: Tests are conducted in Arcade Mode at Mid-Field Raceway. All cars will be tested with automatic transmissions, soft sports tires, and TCS only. Each car will run three laps, and only the best out of the three will be recorded. All tests are conducted under A-Spec to get the best times humanly possible. Also know that the list is limited to the Arcade Mode vehicle selection. Some cars may not make into the list.

*Note: I'm only going to begin with cars people will most likely start out with and cars that are most saught out. I'll try and keep the list updated as best as possible.

There is no 2004 Honda S2000, only 2003

Also, in Arcade Mode, there is only a 2004 Honda S2000.
 
Beginning about 100 "days" ago (I'm on day 350 - 370 something), I began keeping track of my performance. On my list I've got the particular track, series, car, tuning setup, best lap time, total lap time, number of laps, finish position, and top speed (on some of the more recent ones). These are all in GT mode, and I'm not THE BEST driver here, but would you mind if I posted a link to that file for others to reference? If you would rather I start a separate thread, I wouldn't be offended. It may at least give people an idea of some different cars and how the worked (for me) on different tracks. Plus, people could laugh at how slow I am! Entertainment value, right there! :sly:

You should be editing these times into the post at the top - it'll keep your thread tidier, and it'll make it easier to use as all your times will be in one place. It'd be pretty crap if we had to search through the enitre thread just to find a time posted randomly. :)

Do you mean they have to be from the original 143 (or however many) cars that are in the arcade selection? If so then ignore this.

just a bit curious why you have decided to do a list of everything you have done. it looks like a nice list and everythin' and i dont have anything against u doing it but i am just wondering why you are doing it.

Well, what I've found when playing both GT3 and GT4 is I get to a point where I'm trying to decide "do I buy x or Y?" So, I decided that if I was going to go back through and try to maximize my A-Spec points and such, that I should have some sort of reference to compare the cars. Ideally, I would use Arcade mode or something to do this like FAOLIU05, but I don't have the time to do that, so this is the next best choice. It also allows me to see how making certain modifications effects the way my car performs.

Then I decided that by posting it, it may help others who may be starting out playing what kind of points you get for a given race, and which cars to buy and which not to waste their time with.

great! ok and i was wondering whether you record EVERY single race you go in or just the ones which increase your percentage, in other words, do you repeat a championship then record results again?

EDIT: oh and i noticed you spelt 'TORQUE' wrong in your spreadsheet of the cars
 
I record all of the races that I run. I'm not really far enough yet to go back over too many though, I'm only at 32%.

Oh, and thanks for the spelling correction. I'm not the best at that. :)
