To streamline the WRS administration process, all replays for this race must be submitted within 7 days. This thread will be listed as "Unofficial" and will become "Official" when all posted replays have been checked. After 7 days, any racers achieving a Gold time who do not provide a replay will have their lap disqualified.

Please Note:
I will update this post during the week to include any posted replays and also keep track of which replays have been checked and by whom.

Quick Guide To Replay Checking:
  1. check the race summary, check that the tyres are racing medium and that the power is 300 hp
  2. firstly, check the replay from the farthest top view (press R1 twice as soon as the race starts then X if you need to switch to the outside camera)
  3. secondly, check the replay from the same view but in reverse (press L1)
  4. if you suspect more than two wheels leave the track, freeze the replay ('Select' button) to enter photomode
  5. if you suspect contact with a wall, check the data logger for any sudden spike in the cars speed under full throttle.

My 5th consecutive 3rd place :D And a close one, almost passing Clemi (I had him at the 4th lap :sly: ). So we finally see him in division 1...

Congrats to all for a great run at Laguna "Sega"!

Congratz on the division wins Hugo Boss and 01GTP, and all the rest for racing very good.

And yay for me :), div2 winner and 4th overall.
Didn't expect the division win, since Clemi_uk was still listed as div2 with his excellent time.

You already know i can't provide a replay, but i'll post the video tomorrow.
Going to record it right now, so could also be today.

Damn!!! ...so the winning streak stops here:)

Hugo, what is there to say man, 3 sweet laps from the fastest wrs'er out there. 'Bout time you slow down hey:sly:

mtbiker, i feel you man. I'm not sure bout you but im happy & sad to leave div2 but give then hell:D

 to all podiums

As posted earlier and purely for interest sake, my fastest clean lap was a 1.27.457. Anyone else?

Just a thought but it would be nice to see the splits for the final times, not just the lap time. That way I'd know if I was really dragging lead on the finish or people just weren't posting their best splits.

Would also be interesting to see segment times on the leaderboard, since mostly I'm more interested in which segment I'm losing the most time compared to others and cumulative times don't really show that.

Congratulations to all the speedsters (and the slowsters for helping me look not *completely* hopeless :)). Got me again Snoddy, maybe next week.

My fastest lap (lap 2 of my submitted time) is 1'27.560. Splits are at the race thread and at the leaderboard.

I think my slow sector was sector 3...

:cheers:Gongrats to all the "golds."

No complaints at this end, just didn't have the time to put in this week. :grumpy:

Well, here are the replays of my run. Rear and front view.

Oh, and my best lap was 1'27.997 I believe.
A good thing i was consistent.

ongratulations to all the golds this week
congrats to mtbiker157 on a promo:tup:that was a fast session again this wk
i wasn't sure you were promoted , worked out well for me this week :sly:
congrats also to Clemi_uk on your promo , how's the head ? :ouch:
Hugo WOW :odd:
and to these combos.......

replay tuesday pm

edit nice run DustDriver

Congrats on your division win Kenny! (01gtp) 👍 and you are running in the D2 ranks already :scared: Glad to see chuk in the mix as well. 👍 Congrats to all racers here...

Nice work everyone. Wicked fun, again the WRS introduces me to a great car. Excellent work by the D2 guys. Great week Sjaak!

Well Done And A Hearty Congratulations To The Golds!!! And another thanks to the moderators (sjaak68) and "updaterers" who make it possible.

@ clemi-uk: congrats on the promo though it comes a week too late for me!!! You certainly deserve it, but I loved chasing you in D2.👍👍👍 You set quite the admirable pace, though now look what you've got.:scared: Herman and Hugo to go for.:nervous: I, for one, will absolutely cheer you on,, as I'd love to see one of my contemporary D2's get a win!!

@ gtbadboy: Since the sheetrock is already up, my job is done. We can relax and enjoy the Woodford's, as 01gtp is the best taper I have ever seen, and I've studied the craft and workmanship from here (Connecticut) to Colorado and down to Tennessee!!! By the time you wake up in the morning, he's half-way done. The compound is only on the walls and ceilings, certainly not him, and you can sand it smooth with a dirty look. Then he paints it flawlessly with primer and heads for GT4! He does with compound what Herman and Hugo do with these cars!!!

@ dustdriver: I look forward to getting some time to chase you, now!!👍👍

@ bigracer: It is less than three days, but yes, my wife and I now own a restaurant. We are naming it "Higby's", her maiden name. She is a saute specialist, while I am the front-of-house. [I am a good, consistent mimic of a cook. What I cook, is good, but I don't want to think of a special. What's special is that I'm cooking it!! Hence, I work the front with a smile, because I'm not cooking!!] Getting back to racing, I intend to get some set-ups at the restaurant and see what happens. Even Sony offers help to promote their products, so my goal is to be ready with at least four, if not six, racing cockpits lined up on PS3 and GT5 through nothing but HI-DEF!!! And I want government and/or insurance money to cover the cost, because I will use the equipment to help train newly-licensed drivers in road safety courses and alcohol prevention classes. If all that comes together, I'll fly the whole community here just to enjoy the party!!!!

RACE ON!!!

You already know i can't provide a replay, but i'll post the video tomorrow. Going to record it right now, so could also be today.

WRS Rules state : video replays are not accepted, only .max, .xps or .sps files can be verified

Nothing personal, just a rule :)

grats to all the golds as usual! now i'm just not one of them. i was kind of wondering if i was going to get bumped up sometime soon. i wasn't sure if you had to requalify or what the procedure was. also grats to Cmir on his upgrade as well.
anyways thanks 01gtp and sorry we won't be running together anymore. now i'll be "chasing" after Snod Blatter, Dust Driver, and 2087TM and the rest depending on the track/car. week 134 comes on a track i struggle to become familiar with although these weekly challenges are quite inspiring how they hone your awareness of braking and turn in points. thanks sjaak for the interesting setup this week. it seemed natural from the first run. amazing what racing tires and 4wd will do!

again congrats to all and see you in week 134.

also trying to come up with some setups for week 135.

Already knew that, that's what the but stands for in that sentence.
I just post up the replay to show i'm not lying about the time, even if it's no excepted evidence.
And i don't really care, because I know the laps were clean and i had the right setup.

edit nice run DustDriver
Thank you.

@ dustdriver: I look forward to getting some time to chase you, now!!
Well, it'll be me chasing you i think, i won't be racing until next weekend :)

If you look at the rules for this one, any paved surface was considered track. Thus, I cut around the first hairpin on that small strip of tarmac around the inside. I believe it's considered part of the pit lane by the game, as you can't drive backwards through it very fast at all, just like when trying to go back up a pit lane.

Surely more people did this?

It also means DustDriver was in a complete league of his own this week, because he went the long way around and still managed to beat us all in Div2. Nice one.

I only thought about using this little bit of track at about 4PM GMT, and only really had 40 minutes of racing before I submitted, so this could've been a lot cleaner and quicker if I'd had more time doing it. As it is, it's just the best 3 laps I could come up with. Without cutting it the best I could do was 4'27.6xx, so Strop would've beat me. And we can't have that now, can we? :D

Anyway, cop this...

I don't think it's faster to take the shortcut. I have more room and thus also more speed through the corner and also have more speed exiting the corner.

I was saving myself about a second per lap by doing it... And I didn't need to be so lucky through it to be quick, either. I wonder what the Div1 guys were doing..

I also found the exiting speed to be a bit irrelevant because the next corner was so tight anyway, you'd be braking no matter what.. But it's whatever feels best for you, right? :)

Well, to be honest, i was thinking up reasons because i didn't think of using the pit lane :)
But i did have a problem when i crossed the lines seperating the race and pit lane.
My replay wouldn't work if i did. It just crashed the car straight into the first wall.

Regarding Snod's shortcut, I was driving across there initially but I stopped because if you cross that line it won't save the ghost replay from that lap. I didn't find it any slower to go around the outside of the line. For it to save you a second a lap you must have been getting more from the pits than a shortcut :)

Clemi and mtbiker157, cheers on your promotions  Enjoy your new playingfield :sly:

Congrats to Bert and 01gtp on their division wins 👍
Really impressive drive from you, Bert! I see you've got talent...
Why don't you have a MaxDrive? I'm sure if you can chase some faster ghosts, you'll improve quickly ;)

Well done to everybody else and enjoy next week :)

Well, i was thinking: if i get the PS3, wouldn't it be better to just get the memory card adapter and copy the replay to a usb stick?

And if i could find one somewhere for like €10, i would buy it immediately, but i don't want to spend €30 on it.

And thanks for the comment on my lap.
It took me like 100 laps to get that bit of talent out though :)
(well, could be less laps, but it was at least 6 or 8 hours of driving)

If you plan on getting the PS3 soon, it's better to save that bit of money indeed. If you won't buy one within half a year, I would pick up a MaxDrive if I were you. You take all the knowledge with you from studying and chasing faster laps!

To be really fast, you'll need both talent and experience. Only to get that experience, you'll need to make the hours as well ;) If you only drive 30-60 minutes a week, it's not likely you'll become much faster...

Edit: If Sjaak approves the shortcut, Snod's race is clean aswell 👍

if i have 30-60 minutes of time i don't even start. I need a couple of laps to warm up, so it has no point to train for only 1 hour.
Hopefully the ps3 will arrive tomorrow or the day after, but i doubt my parents will let me play on it till after my exams.
Probably for the best.

ok,

When I said all paved areas are track I never considered a second there was a way to shortcut like this.

This shortcutting has nothing to do with the spirit how we race on Laguna seca.

You can blame me on my words I wote down in the race thread but with common sense you could have known the shortcut was wrong.

I don't accept your race.
