I didn't get this morning when I restarted.

Were you possibly reported by someone after the nations race this week?
Who can say, but that'd result in a PSN message telling me off and they don't enforce driving standards (there's no capability to report driving standards either), only naughty chat words.

Weird it says "Welcome to Sport Mode" after 137 races (and however many in GT Sport). Either way, I've never seen the bit about monitoring "bulletin board" (how very 90s)

Edit: Even more odd...

(and I said the same thing about bulletin boards back then  )

I haven't touched Sport Mode in a loooooong time. When did the 16 cars only happen? Wasn't it 12, 16, 20 for Races 1, 2 and 3, respectively?

This weeks C is almost the perfect race, close cars responsive and the racing can be close without people randomly spinning.

It would have been perfect if it had some strat.

The races I've done today on C (US servers) mostly clean, lots of suicides my own included and a few "elbow" moments but it's a close GR4 race for whatever pace you have but nothing crazy.

My First Nations race today you'd have thought I was invading which ever country with the pushing and shoving (ignoring the idiot T1 dive bombs!)
I had mixed feelings with the past weeks C because I had literally the best and the worst races so far.

I had a close race in a pack of 4 cars with everyone fighting clean from start to finish wich felt like heaven and Ive also been murdered in plain straight for no reason, been brake checked for someone before serving his 5 secs penalty and saw lot of players moving in the braking zone to touch the rear of the car ahead just to make them spin.

This kind of close racing is good only when you have decent people around you.

I was looking forward to another Gr.3 race at a track I like, but of course PD couldn't have too many good weeks in a row and decided to make Yamagiwa an AWD snoozefest...
I've been hot-lapping a bunch of different cars there, this morning.
I'm about 10 cars into it, and by far, my fastest lap has been in the Scirocco.
You won't need an AWD car to kick ass at that race. :)

I know it's early but after taking a long break from putting actual time in the game, it's an encouraging start for me 😊 Gonna jump in my first race so hoping it doesn't turn out to be hell as before.. 😅😂

Another week without any road cars yay... Why does PD bother adding more road cars every month if the dailies are mostly Gr 3-4 cars and sometimes Gr 1-2.

This is getting old, I'd like to get back into it but it's the same formula every single week. Good thing I still have my league racing to get my fix because the dailies are getting worse. Sometimes I wonder how the online population looks like in the dailies, am I the only one that would like a shake up to the current formula ? How about bringing back shuffle racing from GT5 or longer races in road cars ?

Race start bug just came back to bite me at Yamagiwa

What's even worse is that then for some reason, I was in reverse for the "start" so out of my group of seven cars who still hadn't got to the final hairpin on "lap 0" I ended up reversing for the first second or two (as did another car) so was miles behind even that group of cars.

No idea how that happened???? Waste of a race anyway. Booooo hissss

Annoyingly, the last race I did last week I genuinely thought "haven't seen that bug in a long long while, maybe it's been fixed". Somehow my controller reads my thoughts through my brain now, and feeds them to PDs servers....

Based on my own lack of participation and many people on my friends list no longer having qualifying times each week, I would say less and less people are actively participating in the Daily races.

I see everyone blaming the car combos each week, which is a valid complaint, but my take on it is we need new tracks. The same Gr3/Gr4 meta and track combos are boring after 1 or 2 times. We need new tracks and better BoP.

Yey - went well 🥳

Unexpected P3 start (maybe I am down in rating?!?!) and finished in P2 😊

Such a cool track and car combo and a nice surprise, I didn’t expect gr4 on softs for this one, had a race at lunch and turned 7th into 4th which was cool as I don’t think I managed a 5th once last week at DF

I may try the genesis as I remember a while back getting a bucket load of wins in that here, although that might have been with some turning

Nice to see you back ;p) and I’ll be all over this one this week

I think we have a great variety of tracks, the problem resides with the car selection in the dailies and I don’t understand why. There is so much potential for a wide spread of different events. Take the E30 M3, the Sierra and the 190E, have them tuned by PD with fixed and equal setups and more importantly assigned at random before every race so it doesn’t end up as a META grid and boom there’s a cool event making good use of the car list.

Its such a shame that PD sticks to the same formula that has been going for close to 8 years without change.

Rant over, I’m off crossing my fingers for something different or at the very least a longer race A with road cars because whats the point of racing for 8 minutes only to wait 12 minutes for the next race.

I’d say there should be road cars instead of gr1/2 with tuning but only if you can share tunes and use them easily, to level the field.

I might be on my own here but gr1/2 is garbage but I couldn’t do without gr3/4 😁

Tough slog this QT in the Lambo

Edit:

I really don't understand the tuning to race competitively thing. I can see road car classes (junior touring cars etc) but I can't see that there is a massive online racing scene for it.

For drag racing yeah but multiple lap circuit races it's just not a motorsport thing.

I know people love it and that's why the Paddock areas exist to admire cars and go to the track. Just something I don't really get in the GT universe context of online races.

All that said we have a meme race in the nations on Saturday....🤷‍♂️

I actually really like the tuning aspect of Dailies when they are allowed. It creates more immersion and makes you want to improve as you naturally tweak settings to get a better time. I (stupidly) imagine that if people spend time trying to be better, they would care about results and try and drive cleaner...

What I would give my left nut for is for Poly to allow us to save car settings in between sessions and races rather than have to screenshot/ write down what we did to improve because they are lost as soon as you exit the session!

I get the race setup tuning but in a fixed class, what I'm talking about is the run what ya brung type scenarios.

Not saving tuning is such a let down for the Sports mode players quite honestly :(

Then join a race with 60 seconds left and try and rush entering all the settings, accidentally missing a few bits or moving the wrong slider... Race starts and you've got a car that handles like skateboard with castor wheels :boggled:

Personally I'm not a fan of tuning as most of the fast tunes seem like a hack rather than a realistic option, but if they could be saved to each car and readily available that would be an improvement :)

As Gr4 is mostly single-type races it would be nice to see how every other week they maybe had a different mandatory car to use - about 80 percent of my Gr4 garage has never been used.

I'm happy with the brake balance adjustment, because that alone can make or break your experience. I for one am awful when the brake balance is forced at 0, but open up the adjustment and I find the setting that works for me.

I have to admit that the other settings are more of a hassle and not really beneficial, especially since we have to redo them before every race.

Not being able to access saved tunes seems completely ridiculous for TUNED races...that seems solidly on the 'common sense' spectrum. Maybe that's the issue.

I like tuning cars, but only to suit my preferences. To your point, going to extremes on any of the settings starts to feel a bit arcade-like for me. Couple notches here and there to clean things up out of a tough corner? Sure, that's what it's there for. Maxing the ARB's? That's a bridge too far for me, starts to feel like you're taking advantage of something.

I really think the magic to getting more use out of more cars is better BoP. I don't think there's another answer and I really don't understand why a good balance is so elusive given the dedicated resources they have to work with. Then again, I have no clue what I'm talking about with regard to game development so imma shut-up now.😁
