I did 6 races there so far, all in DR B - SR S. Kicked out in 4 of them, 3 times intentionally (I mean some people just liked to tap my butt continuosly) and one by accident ( the guy apologised and waited for me to recover in front of him, like I do when i'm the "perpetrator" by mistake). In one, I lost the braking point of the last corners to hit the guy which I was fighting with for 3rd (my bad). Eventually I had only one clean a fair race where, from 1st to me (5th) there was no dirty game and we finished battling in 2sec gap between us. I assume it is a matter of luck. Last week I had plenty of victories from pole or second row thinking that all was mostly clean a fair, then I gave a deep look at replays and changed my mind. In SR S there's a "loud" minority of nasty drivers anyway.

the server quality connection wise has been pretty poor this week, watching the streamers and also playing it's been very rare to get a lobby with green bars.

i'd suspect that with the demo/update/ps5 pro rollout that they are doing some infrastructure updates at Sony and PD and also moving a lot of internal network bandwidth (not literally) moving large files and server patches around.

i had 2 races where i know some of the people who tapped me and they definitely didn't mean it and it was just latency in their cases.

it just feels like its lag that's making it feel dirtier than it really is. Of course there are sweaty players in all network conditions but i don't think there is more than normal.

TM is really tricky as the braking points are very different between players (those that are quicker tend to brake earlier or more gentle)

Is anyone else experiencing some proper lag this week? I've been trying B but the rest of the grid are just jerking all over the place.

Very very very badly. yesterday i tried to races at Trial Mountain. not one or two, no all cars were all over the place. The Huracan in front of me did a Wheelie 3 Seconds after the start , that looked awesome though. The bad thing is , I breaked because an AMG seemed to have lost control, suddenly he was 50 meters in front of me, next second i rammed it off track and got a penalty. I said a bad word to the station.
 
So just an update from me guys, haven’t raced much daily this week as I’m not getting on with T300 much, fanatec wont repair my WB until they open their repair shop next year to non warranty repairs, which is a pain.

Will get on at the weekend but I’m definitely casual racing mid pack at the moment, don’t have the feel I had with gtddpro 🤨

If it wasn’t for Xmas coming up I’d have just brought another until I could fix and eBay my current one.

Jesus's I'm badly out of practice 🤣🤣🙈 Tried a couple of QT laps of the ring last night...didn't go well. 7.27 in the F40 but it feels slow to me. Switched to the RX vision and my first lap was clean but still slow at 7.15 I tried again and got within 1 second of that. No idea how I got so bad so quickly 🤣🤣 Anyway, tried 2 races and it was a disaster, more akin to skittles than a race 🙈. I gave up and went back to iRacing instead. Will try again later and hopefully see some improvements
 
Feeling a little discouraged about my pace in daily races; hoping for some advice. I'm a newish GT7 player; have about 150 hours in the game total but only started racing online about a month ago. Playing on PSVR2 with a T300RS. I've definitely been gradually improving but sometimes I'm just perplexed at how far off the pace I am. In race A this week my best QT so far has been a 7:32, which I thought was pretty decent until I get into the lobby and see other D class players in the 7:10's. It's hard for me to imagine where they're making that much time on me. Is this just a matter of putting more hours in, or are there things I should be specifically trying to work on?

Race A is definitely not an easy one for new/newish people.
The Nordschleife track takes a really long time to memorize. I've been racing on that track for 10+ years, and only recently started to feel like I'm getting pretty good knowledge of all the turns. Where I used to lose a lot of time was braking way too much for certain turns that I was unsure about.

That's a good point. I definitely don't have the track memorized like I do the shorter ones, and I do find myself erring on the side of braking too much in fear of flying off the track. I suppose I need to keep grinding at it. Thanks for the reply

I strongly recommend to make the circuit experience aiming at gold in every sector.
Is the best way to learn the track imo.

Hopped into the NSX Type R, and tried to follow Gallo's NSX ghost around the Nordschleife. So fast. He is pro, I am pleb. 😅

I had lots of bobbles, but no penalties or shunts: 7:19.723

I am going to load his ghost now, I don't think it will end well 🤣🙈🙈 the RX seems to be a good choice as its pretty stable, I'm going to try it now in VR, my lap yesterday was in normal mode, I was listening out for a crying baby and that is not good for the concentration 🙈

Welcome aboard...you stumbled in to a great place for advice!

The absolute last place you should be hammering on yourself is the Nordschleife. As others mention, it takes FOREVER to learn the place and it's completely unforgiving. The other challenge is keeping the course length in mind when gauging yourself. If I had to guess (and that's what this is), if you're two seconds off the pace at a 'regular' track (2 - 3 miles), that will equate to 15 or so seconds at the Nord'. Point being, you probably aren't as far off as you think.

Laps are always gonna help. As also mentioned, running the circuit experience is a solid way to get to know the track. It also helps make sure the laps you're running are on good lines. Speaking of lines, turning on the race line and corner bubbles can help, too.

Finally, here's one that netted me more than half a second at Deep Forest last week and 6 seconds at the 'Ring this week....turn off race info while qualifying. I'm sure this is one of those things that varies by driver, but I'm MUCH faster when I'm not watching the clock.😁

Me neither, but it's mostly because I manage to do something stupid each race. I've finally learned to give the people in front of me some room on the first set of turns, because if I don't, I end up riding their butts and have to take evasive action, which invariably leads to disaster. So what happened this time when I gave them room? I braked a little too hard at the start of the tunnel, and spun out into the wall. Sigh. Rusty is as rusty does.

I didn't pay too much attention to lag, but you're actually right. I've experienced some serious lag today in my first race B at TM, not to a point where cars move erratically down the road btw. At the end of back straight it is at its worst, leading to many mistakes from runners. I was lucky cause in the next pair of races it was practically absent.
 
Happy day today. I did just three B races, after improving my QT enough to be in front row at the start. After a "quite laggy" first one, where I only could minimise my usual amount of mistakes, brought home in 2nd, I enjoyed two consecutive wins (one gifted from poleman spinning downhill near the end of first lap). Still I'm very conservative in the first section till the exit of the tunnel. That's my unicorn, it's so easy to get penalties there. Racing before the weekend was a good idea with this week's combo btw. I mean, I've finally DR A in my sight for the weekend, if I don't mess up too much.
 
Happy to report 3 more good races this morning before work. Have to admit there was not many peoples around the Ring at 8 this morning. One DR.A at the front and then B and C for a grid of around 9-10 peoples. Still have to manage average driver on Green Hell from the back which you never know ...

All went well with three 3rd place. :)

I will try a QT tomorow hoping to get in the 7.10.

I had a much better time at Trial Mountain earlier this evening. I only did 2 races where I started P7 and P6, and then finished P6 and P7 respectively. It was much "cleaner" racing as compared to yesterday. Some questionable dives were used against me, but it's expected at this point. I did lose some SR on the second race at some point. I did go off track and picked up a penalty, but I was also getting elbows out so that probably didn't help. So, I guess I'll take a quick drive in Race A to recover that tomorrow.

Good luck with that. Race C is more appropriate to recover SR. Race A can easily backfire.

I was just going to fall to the back and take a slowish cruise around the Ring. I have no interest in trying hard. Unless it's such a bad idea I'll reconsider.
 
A is good fun, as virtually anything Nord is. The cars drive so well... they stick to the track but if you push too hard they'll bite ya... just as it should be.

I've only done a few. Really like the Vette... even though it isn't as competitive it's just a fun drive around the track. In the handfull of races I've been in there've been multiple makes which is cool.

I do wish we could use our own cars and just have the tuning automatically applied, like how we can in the TTs; it would help break up the monotony of them all the makes looking the same.

It took me 14 races, 13 with SR increases, to get my SR from low A back to full S.

There isn't much SR on offer at the Ring this week.
 
I'm really perplexed this week... Usually, I get a feeling of yeah, top times are doing something better than me. If it's braking smoother, better cornering exit speeds, etc. I do feel (most times) that not having a load cell on the DD Pro costs me some time but this week, it's something different. Something which I honestly cannot comprehend (Gr3 Race B).

It the change of direction the faster times manage! Not talking about handling/ controlling the car when turning. I am talking about the actual turning i.e. going from straight to full left or right turn or else from side to side.

I tried a million settings but even at much lower speeds, the car just doesn't change direction as quick. I watched so many replays and yes, there is a bit of a difference in skill (obviously) but I lose the ghosts only when it comes to shifting the way the car should point...

Am I missing something here? Anyone else feels the same or noticed it? Or better yet, solve it! 😂 🤪
