GT7 is just GT Sport+ (Trailer Breakdown)

I love this community, never stop complaining and almost never appreciate thing.
Absolutely. It's a shame that the current state of the industry has created an environment of cynicism and black-and-white projections on games as a whole

If I could chime in and try to be diplomatic here.

Pwningstone. The main problem people have had in this thread is your use of definitive words and statements.
Everyone is excited or frustrated of what was shown and everyone is speculating what might be.
But the way you have mostly spoke suggests that you 100% believe everything u have said about what is and isn’t real in GT7 and even if u r right, we won’t know till the game comes out.

GTSport was made the way it was cause the FIA partnered with Gran Turismo and they wanted to make a game specialising in that partnership...

It is likely that from now on, as long as the fia and gt are partnered, the weekly set online races will be called GTSport because of that partnership.

it doesn’t mean that the mode will be exactly like GTSport.

im not saying it won’t or will be the same. We just don’t know yet.

so if I could offer any humble advice mate.. :) opinions are awesome and we want to hear yours. Even if they are negative. But if something isn’t 100% certain but most of your comments act like u somehow know it is. You wont get anyone on your side.

anyway that’s my thoughts :)

What’s wrong with the engine?

Doesn't have suspension mechanics, no body roll or bounce to it.

Currently the engine focuses on grip, inertia and drag. Suspension currently is just a factor of those aspects. It needs it's own model.

The tire model is almost nonexistent currently, it's not terrible but it's very basic. The hope was that GT7 with its CPU power would be able to simulate more advanced models to give the player a more natural expected response.

6 pages because of what op thinks. Please don't reply with something like "no, you're wrong and all I wrote are facts"

We know very little about GT7. This is the only fact.

You dont seem to get that GT physics have evolved all the time.
Even within the same game. GT Sport physics at launch were not the same physics as right now.
Your complaint is all nonsense.

Honestly, I don't think you know what you are talking about. The in-game footage shows the engine working. It was plain as day to see the mechanics are the same as GT Sport.

Says the guy who said this in the first post.

  • GT 7's online multiplayer section will in fact be GT Sports Weekly Race and Tournament Series, they are and will be exactly the same.
  • GT 7 will have the same exact physics as GT Sport
  • GT 7 will not utilize the PS5's power for a better physics model

There seems to be a lot of opinion being presented as fact in this thread. There also seems to be a lot of insults flying around in this thread. Both of these stop now.

Why do you think so? I have seen body roll in GT Sport.

That’s not true. You can clearly see that there is suspension movement in GT Sport (and in every other game before it). It’s not just a multiplier for grip, inertia and drag.

The tire model is almost nonexistent currently

I’m sure it’s more basic than for some of the competing games, but why would a new engine be required to improve it?

Absolutely. Starting with the title. If someone not used to the forums reads this might really think "GT7=GT SPORT+" is a fact and spread rumors outside of this community.
I hate when it happens.

Hmm.

I think the move to the GT4 menus are a step backwards, GT Sport is very sleek in this regard. Maybe it will grow on me. It needs to be efficient.

Trial Mountain should be interesting. Track looks like it might be better for racing fast cars, but otherwise, a lesser layout than the original.

A bit concerning that the 917 is racing an imitation GT3 car, that could be PD reverting to bad habits.

Hoping there is a function to buy all the parts in bulk, there is a happy medium somewhere between fully upgrading everything and cumulatively wasting hours repeating mundane tasks (GT4 is the absolute pinnacle of this)

GT Auto - timewasting if its only oil change and car wash, hopefully not mandatory.

GT Sport - Good that this feature is being retained

I do get the OP... watching the trailer I cant help but think... this is *just* GT Sport 2 on PS5.

Sure it has the GT4 menu motif but... ISNT THAT WHAT WE WANT?

Most of us really dont want anything too amazing... we just want the GT Sport game engine with the GT4 game framework with the classic tracks but more of what we had in GT6 ie. Silverstone Sepang Monaco Montreal and all the real F1 world tracks that didnt make it.... PLUS the cars that we all want like the 917 and the Murcielago and the MONO and PP being back...

If they can make this work on an original PS4 at FHD 60 then I cant ask for much more.

I don't think the suspension in GT sport is mechanical, it doesn't feel like other sims when it comes to travel and bounce. GT Sport just deflects bumps and has some minor roll out, particularly with braking and braking through corners.

Creating a new tire model would mean more realistic tire wear and provide a more realistic feel when powering out of corners. Really most games don't have good tire models, they are all pretty much crap. The hope was that the new partnership with Michelin would produce a working (and real life tested) model that would give the game a real edge. I am still hoping that this happens, I could see how they could make this happen.

Livery editor and rims yes - cosmetic body parts, I haven't seen evidence of.
That's true, but with the addition of the mechanical tuning shop it would be logical to have aero parts too, like gt5 and gt6. Let's hope....

What does this mean? What is the difference between a mechanical and a non-mechanical suspension model?

That there is a dedicated mechanical model to the suspension system.

You can fake a suspension model by adding behavioral characteristics to the car model.

And you do? Lol
You should really stop making assumptions now until you actually play it.

I am a computer engineer with experience in robotics. This is the type of stuff that we simulate when designing robots. So yeah, I do.
I can extrapolate whatever I can get away with regardless of what anyone else thinks about the value of it.

Whoah, ludicrous claim!

Also not all professionals (specifically computer science) are the same just because it has "Computer" on it.

Yeah, really?

Funnily though, they do teach you a lot, especially when you also study electrical engineering... but what might really blow your mind is that I learned even more after my education.

Just because you don't see how the systems works doesn't mean the system isn't there.

Fully convinced this is a wind up now, well played @pwningstone

No disrespect, but people around here take things way too seriously. I may have pandered my responses to some that were a bit sharp.
