Hi all,

Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is getting on the act so far? I know maybe the games lost a bit of lustre with updates and new content falling short of expectations.

The fact I don’t get many messages on here anymore either means the app is working unbelievably well with no issues or nobody is playing with it anymore! 😂

Google analytics suggests the first answer, which is good. That being said, there’s always room for improvement. I want to start a little bit of a discussion on features everyone thinks would be beneficial.

I have been working in the background on a couple of features which I think will be interesting and I would love to hear everyones thoughts on these and also anything else they would like to see.

The first one is an AI race engineer chat feature. The majority of this element has been completed the last piece of the puzzle to work out which service to use. As some of you may know AI services come with a cost so I’m trying to find the best solution that doesn’t cost the Earth but delivers the performance that we require. Do you think this is something that you as a user would be interested in paying for or am I wasting my time here? Let me know.

The second feature I have been working on which is still in early stages is my own telemetry data logging. This was always a feature I wanted to integrate into the app and have the app feed from the data that this builds. However, it’s just not possible to use the data logging in any kind of mobile device without it being a native app (which I just don’t want to get involved in). So I have drafted a standalone piece of software which will be desktop based and the idea is that you use this telemetry software to do test laps and then the AI feature analyses the results to provide to the user with driving tips or even tuning advice!

Please feel free to let me know your thoughts positive or negative I don’t take offence!

Phil
I will definitely be interested in the second feature. It would be great to use AI to help analyse the lap and give suggestions in car settings or driving to improve lap time.

As for the first feature, could you give a little more detail on the functions of the AI Race Engineer? Thank you!

The Ai race engineer will give concise adjust advice for particular traits of the vehicle you are tuning. So if you ask it “how do make this car oversteer less” it will analyze your current setup and particular vehicle and give you advice on what to adjust.

Oh, nice!! Yes, I will be interested in this AI feature.

Hi guys, beginner here and loving the accretion of learning using the app. Do you have a more comprehensive (user manual) kind of document that helps understand what happens when you adjust this input it will cause this to happen to the tune. Ive had some cars that I think I’ve put in what’s appropriate for the car min/max speeds (but I don’t really know much so its more a wild guess) then the app will give me the ratios I input the data go for a test drive and 1-4th gear are almost irrelevant thy are that close. This is one of maybe a handful of things I would like some more in-depth knowledge so I can learn better and bug you less. the in app descriptions are very vague. Thanks in advance.

Apologies for the lack of response, I will get a bit of a user manual together soon, or hopefully my next post may be able to help!

We have now got a beta testing site up and running for the updated version of GT Pro Tune with built in AI Race engineering chat bot. Ask it questions about your current setup and how to tune out specific traits or how to tweak for track specific setups!!

Drop me a private message to join the Beta testing…

hey, I’d love to give the beta version a go it sounds like exactly what I was asking about in my previous post.

This is a one time payment.
I tried to calculate the optimal shifting points for the Gr.3 Lexus, but even though I'm manually inputting the gear ratios and values, the result graph points to speeds that the gearbox will never reach before hitting the RPM limiter and I just cannot figure it out for any racecar (Gr.1, Gr.2, Gr.3, Gr.4, Gr.B). Why is that happening (I'm using KPH by the way)???

I'm also trying to apply this with compliance to BoP restrictions (power, weight, torque etc). Unless the gearshifts don't count on that.

Post up some screenshots of the issue your having and will see if we can help solve the problem.

August 2024: GT Pro Tune is now live!!

May 2024 Edit: The app is nearing completion, if you sign up now you will receive a discount on the app when released.

I have developed a tuning calculator for gt7, spring rate, dampers, gear ratios, dyno plotting and LSD setup are all automatically calculated. If you would like to download a copy please see bottom of this post Or in my signature.
Any questions are welcome. Please note all updates to this calculator are part of your initial purchase. Remember to sign up with your email to receive the latest updates when they are released. If we get enough supporters this will eventually migrate to an iOS and android app.

And for anyone interested in the equations: it takes into account suspension travel, force applied under load, lever ratio and without giving away too much the following formula is applied; K = Spring Rate in N/m.
1/2piSqrt(K/M)
It works on a table of every car in GT7 so that when a car is selected, the drivetrain type automatically is picked up for the un sprung weight calculation.

Give the free trial a go on the website, it’s obviously only part of the full downloadable premium version but it gives you a feel for it.

Been loving using the calculator. super awesome. how does BoP affect the car's settings? Should I calculate based on the the car's BoP for whatever given race in Sport mode?

You can use the calculator to tweak the settings if you adjustment for BOP, if no adjustments are allowed then you can use the calculator for shift points, or you should be able to… I am currently reviewing the issue of the shift point graph not showing up for user entered gear ratios…

@Dstinct_Raf hopefully my developer got your issue resolved and you can now get shift point correctly for the BOP setups?
He did great work, but it's still not functioning properly I'm afraid. It keeps hitting the rev limiter. Maybe you guys should take a look at the whole BoP algorithm and everything as this is one of the most useful tools out there.
Can it work for dirt/snow tracks as well by the way and how?

Hitting the rev limiter? Are you adjusting the gears or is it stock ratios? I’m not sure what you mean? Any more screenshots to describe the puzzle the welcome!

I'm talking about BoP-restricted gearbox and ratios (Lexus). I'm inputting the final gear ratio and the other values correctly, but the shift points it outputs are too much to handle for the car I guess. Like, it says to shift from 1st to 2nd at 129kmh, but it's not able to reach 129kmh at all. Only ~114kmh.

Ok send me the same screenshot you sent to the developer. I will check again
