By the way, given that we can only upload images from our mobile devices for the dyno graphs, the app is useless (?) on laptops?
Are you using Mac? That is for some strange reason the only device that alters the format of the screenshot.

Where can I send you an email?
Okay so I think I’ve figured out the issue, if you can call it that!

The shift point graph shows that you need to rev all the way as close to the limiter as possible to stay in the highest tractive force power band.

It’s quite a nice sweeping band actually!

So I gotta follow the shift point graph or the tractive force one?
Tractive force is the one to look at. When gear over lap is where you want to shift up. So for example, if 2nd crosses 3rd at 7000 rpm it’s better to be in 3rd gear at a lower rpm than it is to be in 2nd over 7000…

Right... Still confused lol

  • Tractive Force = Acceleration potential.
  • Optimal shift = at or just after the crossover of two gear curves.
  • Early shifts = drop out of power band → slower acceleration.
  • Late shifts = stay in lower tractive force region → wasted revs.

Thanks. Just, let me know if the issues are fixed and if there's anything else.

“I'm talking about BoP-restricted gearbox and ratios (Lexus). I'm inputting the final gear ratio and the other values correctly, but the shift points it outputs are too much to handle for the car I guess. Like, it says to shift from 1st to 2nd at 129kmh, but it's not able to reach 129kmh at all. Only ~114kmh.”

Just had another thought, did you calculate the tire diameter correctly? That would affect the speed values of each gear.

I'm using the app's calculator, following the instructions exactly. I even watched the tutorial video.
