GTA San Andreas Re-Released.

San Andreas has been recently re released, does anyone know if "hot coffee" is the only thing that has been changed or have the censors gone to town on other elements of the game too?

From what I’ve heard Hot Coffee is the only thign that’s been changed…

Well logically, that should be all that's been changed, and I'm sure Rockstar would fight it if they attempted to change any other features of the game. Hot Coffee was the sole reason that San Andreas got banned in the first place, so logically it should be the only thing disabled/removed.

Then again, you never know with the Government.

indeed, Pixelated boobies are way worse than killing innocent pedestrians and coppers. Sheesh!

It's a mod where you can have sex and watch it.

Its not exactly a mod...

Its part of the game--originally you were supposed to have sex in the game but for whatever reason, they took it out-- but being lazy programers, instead of actually taking it out, they made it so you couldn't access the sex part (of the dates)--- of course when the PC version came out, one of the modders found the part that wasn't supposed to be in the game and released a "patch" so you could play the removed part of it-- Hot Coffee.

NOw this same content was also in the PS2 version, but even though you cannot access it on PS2 (that I know of)--- they still pulled it from the shelves in the US because the content is on the disk (although hidden)

But isnt it an 18? What about games like playboy mansion, larry *** laude and the sims series.

In the US-- it was rated M (for mature)-- there is no national laws on this in the US.. its a voluntary rating system. A few cities have made it against the law to sell M rated games to anyone under 17... I dont think its enforced very often... I've never been carded :dopey:

When HOt coffee was discovered they changed the rating from M to AO (adult only)-- most major retailers in the US won't carry AO games.

There are other games besides GTA??? :yuck:

I stand by that fact.

Sex is natural, and with consent from both parties have no harm.

Killing innocent people and coppers is way worse.

Our world is 🤬 up

I agree. Killing innocent people is worse then having sex (in a game).
And it's not us who are ****ed up, it's the people who complains about it.

You can blame the 'pious' religious right for that.
Maybe, maybe not. But the religious right at least believes in what they say or do. No, you don`t have to like it, don`t have to have the same beliefs, and can rant all you`d like. It`s just how they BELIEVE, plain & simple. This is different from the liberal left, which ALWAYS makes moves that are strictly political. Believe THAT.

Remember: "All Generalizations are false....." :dopey: (including this one)

I know this is taking this off topic but what you sound like you are saying is that Liberals have no beliefs (not necessarily religious beliefs)... and (religious) Conservatives don't make political decisions (for political reasons)..

I'm sure you will agree that neither of these are true.... the extreme right and left wings (I like to call them wing nuts)--- politicize virtually everything.... and both sides have beliefs.

Ted Kennedy and Pat Robertson come to mind...

Reporting from my position entrenched firmly in the center....

Spuds...

Pixelated boobies make me feel all tingly inside....

I know what you`re saying Spuds. Politicians are politicians first, no matter their position politically. I`m trying to point out that the "religious right" as a whole, including people who are not politicians, generally hold beliefs that are unwavering. A liberal will often change his/her mind on a whim, depending on which way the wind is blowing.

I don`t understand why anyone gets bent out of shape over "hot coffee" anyway.

Religious puritanism, uninformedness and misinformation (I blame the media), the general 'anti-videogame' movement.

1) Even with the increasing secularization of western society, we have a lot of lingering taboos about sex and nudity. It's really hard to see how true this is, given that the vastly overwhelming majority of the media we're exposed to comes from countries with christian heritage (be it naitive, like most of europe, or missionary...ized, like South America).

2) The people outraged by this were not videogamers. They didn't understand what patches or mods are. They only saw that this content was included on the disc, not that it was impossible to access by any normal means.
What they furthur didn't understand, is that this sort of thing happens all the time. Many many games have shipped with scraps of content (not accessible in normal gameplay) left on the disc. Right off the top of my head;
-Half-Life: There were enough spare textures and models left on here for someone to create a whole new episode of gameplay.
-Doom: Just a couple sprites they never used.
-Gran Turismo 2: Just look at the hybrid community. I think at least 50 cars in varying stages of completion were found on the disc.
-Gran Turismo 3: I think not as many here, but the disc does have, hidden away, the much discussed secret Lamborghini Diablo race car.
-Gran Turismo Concept: Massive amounts of undeveloped content. Just huge. Even some evidence of motorcycles.
-GTA2: There's a sprite for a shock baton/cattle prod in the game files, it's not in the game.
-Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas: Yup, there's more stuff on there that didn't provoke outrage. You see those drug dealers around? Ever tried actually buying something off 'em? There's evidence in the game code that you actually could at some point, they just took it out to avoid contraversy. Exact same deal as hot coffee. There's some models and text messages relating to a skateboarding minigame, too. Man, that would have ruffled some feathers :P.
It's completely normal practice. Rockstar had no reason to suspect this would cause the sort of fervour it did. In addition, they're British. While there's still a lot of Christian thinking related to sex and nudity, the UK is far more liberal then the United States is. They probably never gave leaving the stuff on the disc a second thought. Who would care?
Rockstar did make a really dumbass move though. They said the content was never on the disc, it was all made by the person who developed the 'hot coffee" patch. This is clearly not true, and hopefully some lawyer has been fired for it.

The thing that really bothers me about it is that maybe companies will start cleaning up their code now. People who love the game enough to go digging won't be able to find these little nuggets anymore. Maybe it doesn't really matter, but I think it was/is a pretty cool little bonus, and this big freakout may have taken it away.

(I wrote that in little scraps, jumping back and fourth. I hope it's coherent :D )

Truthfully, I can`t stand politics. They`re a necessary evil that must be kept up on, at least somewhat. I try to ignore these little panty-waste liberals as best I can, I`ll try and do better from now on.
