GTPDC WEEK 5: The True Test of Skills RESULTS ARE IN

Let's get the competition started:

Course: Monaco

Now for the instructions. It is imperative that you read this before you register:

There will be a racing and exhibition division. In those divisions, there will be categories: Professional and Amateur. To participate, here's what you need to do:
1. Decide on what car, division, and category you want to compete in.
2. PM me the name of the car, what division and category you want to compete in.
3. Drift on Cote de`Azur (Monaco)

Make sure it's your best entry. Include the speedometer, steering wheel and the lap time for fairness.
4. Create a video for your entry.
5. Upload the video onto a FTP. If you don't know how to, PM or IM the judges. Their contact information is on the bottom.
6. Wait for the results!

Deadline: February 1st, 2004

If you have anymore questions, please check the thread titled, "GTP Drift Competition / Challenge Rules." If your answer is not there, then ask in this thread.

Since Monaco (Cote d'Azur) is a difficult drift track, is for testing our skills. I think it's for showing up our true skills.

What does Cote de`Azur have to do with anything? The specified track is Deep Forest II.

I'm in, just figuring if I should stick with cars I have used, use one I have already built, or build another specificaly for this...

Then again, GT4p is taking up a lot of my time as well

I'm workin' on it. So far I have only been able to do mild drifts with the S14 and the Nismo 350z. The race cars only allow you do have racing tires as your selection so they have to much grip.

I'm doing my best, but getting all golds on the licenses (got 4 out of 5 already) is a bugger and keeps getting me distracted. I think I'll try some drifting out right now for you guys and see what I can turn up. I did have to drift the WRX sti on a license test to get gold, I think I just barely clipped the wall if I remember, but the turn would be nice to recreate some drifts on.

P.S. no Monaco in GT4p, there is a course just as crazy if not crazier than Monaco in GT4p, Cita Di Aria is a beauty and lots of run to drive.

Another problem I noticed with GT4 Prologue, is the replay camera angles. A lot of times, the camera just pays attention to the pretty scenery and not much attention to your car, especially on the New York stage, I still want to do this one turn on Citta flawless, the camera angle for it is soooo nice!

wow, I hope they fix that aweful mipmapping before they release it. Other than that, it looks great. Its too bad PS2 has so many AA/AF and texture size limits.

And Thio, I've thought that all vids should include also the steering wheel, because there are some areas where you can't see the car.
