When I apply full weight reduction to this car I am at 954 KGs and not 969 KGs as you listed. I did change the rims. Do aftermarket wheels actually reduce the weight or did you just happen to make a mistake when typing up this tune? Either way, it's a fantastic ride. I'm not usually a fan of FWD/FF cars, but this car has no problem putting the power down to the ground. Nice tune... 👍

I just ripped a couple of laps around Nordschleife, like I usually do with newly purchased cars, or newly applied tunes and then I decided I might as well run this bad boy in the 450PP Beginners Level Seasonal Event this week. I can't. This is not a "normal car". This thing has 249hp and 167lb/ft of torque. It has a power to weight ratio of 4.04 kg/HP! But, I supoose they have a reason for everything they do with the car classifications. :rolleyes:

Yep, you're right, it wasn't full weight reduction, I only used stage 3 and didn't do the bonnet/windows as car is pretty light already (969kgs).

Sorry to hear you couldn't use it for the seasonals, I rarely do them other than just chucking something together, grabbing as many CR as possible in as few runs as possible, then forgetting about them. I tried a few of the roadcars on the Fuji seasonal, just to see how well the setups transfer over, but ormally I'd just run them online.

I don't know, but guessing the 'TRD' means it's a tuned/tuner car (??), it's worth keeping as it's pretty fast on the tighter twisty circuits, was right up there with the other best FWDs I tested..

The FWD/FF's setups are not the fastest hot lap settings, they're designed for more consistency in online racing. I found the fastest setups were not good in online racing as they were limited to a narrow racing line to carry the extra speed through the corner. But when you're in traffic/running off racing line for overtakes etc, it was harder to carry the extra speed and I found you ended up wearing the fr tyres more and being slower for the race distance.

So I changed the setups to be a bit lower on overall fastest laptime but easier to run different lines/in traffic and protect the FR tyres, so overall race time was, on average, alot faster as the individual laptimes were more consistent.. If anything, the cars got faster and faster each lap, with optimum speed happening around 8-10kms into the race.

We use tyre wear on quite fast, setting 3 of 4, the one down from the fastest tyre wear possible and ballast is banned. In races with less tyre wear and ballast being OK to use the cars would need a different setup and be alot faster. The ballast would give alot more natural balance to the car, so you don't have to worry about keeping it balanced aswell as making it turn, or worry too much about tyre wear.

AERO - car is fairly stable, but can struggle when really pushing it through high speed direction changes (especially with bumps/kerbs), a little aero can help with this. This Elise doesn't have the discreet small custom rear spoiler, if it did, I'd be using that and changing rear aero to suit each track.

The soft setup seems to work better on sports SOFT tyres, but the harder setup seems to work better on MEDIUMS..
It works better on the hard set-up with racing hards,mediums,soft,an sports soft.

Awesome little car, these setups are quite 'planted', to get the car more loose at the rear you can increase rear ext/comp, or go with 0.00 rear toe.
I actually applied these suspension and LSD settings to a newly purchased Mazda Eunos Roadster J-Limited (NA) '91 and the car drove great. Actually, I only drove the soft springs setup so far, but the hard springs setup is on Tab B ready to rock. I know my 1991 is a different car, but I figured it would be worth a shot since I couldn't find a tune for my model. No complaints at all. The car drives wonderfully! 👍 :cheers:

I've added 50kg of ballast in the nose (-50). This increased traction and therefore performance and makes this great tune into possibly the best FF car. Thanks!

Edit: online racing with the RS 08 revealed that the megane is fast on fast tracks like big willow. On tighter tracks it's weight is a disadvantage.

NOTE:

These (type of) cars on these tyres will need quite different adjustments according to driving style. Don't make snap decisions on adjustments from first lap, it takes approximately 10-15 miles (20k's) before tyres really start to 'kick in', when they do, it makes a huge difference.

Test with fuel / tyre wear on fast, do at least 6-10 laps and adjust owing to how long you'll be on track i.e. each stint.

My fastest laps with these cars all came in the middle of the stint, at first car feels a bit twitchy, bu gets better and better each lap. End of stint, car has still has balance and grip, but slightly lower lap times.

Some tracks i.e. La Sarthe, may need bespoke setup for that track owing to the track surface.

Gearbox @ stock isn't too bad, these cars have so much torque that short shifting out of tight corners doesn't hurt the lap time too badly. You'll need to balance traction with tyre wear - for some short shifting to save tyres will be needed, for others, the opposite, hard acceleration to keep heat in tyre or even tyre wear will be necessary.

Only change aero as last resort, try to keep stock difference (between fr and rr) whatever strength of aero you're using (low, medium, high).

Using RM or RS tyres will affect the balance - post on thread if help is needed with adjustments.
I am having fits with this car. I upgraded the power to outrun higher horse cars on the straights. As of now I'm sitting at about 955 hp. Do you have a suspension setup for a planted driving style. I've messed with it some but I just can't seem to cure the over steer when entering corners or clipping curbs at the apex of a turn. Also the rear of the car feels a bit jumpy when I get hard on the brakes. I play with a pad controller and sensitivity set to 4. Any help you could offer would be awesome.

Sublime... not about winning races, just pure driving pleasure.. Simply superb

This is indeed a beautiful car and an exquisite tune. Very responsive to throttle on entry and exit. It takes finesse to drive the softer suspension.. "Sublime" is an accurate descriptor.

For more lift off turn in, raise fr ride height and lower rr same amount, change 3mm at a time i.e. 115/112, 118/112.

Recommend running long 1st and 2nd gear to help put power down, with mid turbo it helps to protect front tyres from too much wear.

Love or hate car, getting brakes, but especially turn in and lifting off settings right for you is almost essential. Doesn't reward aggression going into a corner, it's all about being very smooth braking and going in and getting car setup 'right' (for you) at apex..

Get it right and it's superb, but if it's not dialled in right, or not timed right then it's a mare...

50kg at -50 (nose) plus spoiler at the rear at +20 does not necessarily make this car quicker, but a lot easier to drive with this set up and you can drive more consistently (more foregiven when you make an small error).
