The menu music is just standard Porn Flick Jazz Music. Makes me feel good, but not the kind of music you’d hear in a Racing Sim. The best menu music I've ever heard in a video game is probably the F1 2014 soundtrack or F1 2018.
The Racing music is good.... up to a point. Some of the songs make zero sense at all (I’m looking at you, Vince Staples) and others are just godawful (Quote-Unquote PINS - Baby Bhangs)
If there were any good songs in this game, it’s all of the music by Makoto and Daiki Kasho. Arcadia by Delta Heavy is also pretty good

I couldn't vote here because GT music is exactly in line with my taste in music.

I love elevator music (also known for the dummies as Jazz )... Always have... And I can't believe a racing game would even be in tune with me...

That's why I find GT so chill and will always be a fan...

EDIT: Jazz is piece of art that no one can comprehend, and yet is universally appreciated... Definitely an acquired taste...

In my personal opinion, the songs of older GT games go well as Vaporwave remixes.
These are my favorite:

Nice! Listening to your clips was like time travel, guess music has that effect on some...oh those days of following a VW convertible packed full of girls to a beach party...to be 17 again...

I still like "My Favourite Game" from The Cardigans (GT2) and Wooden Shjips (from GT6).

But those aside, I can't say it has a lasting impact on my musical taste. I, for one, can't stand Moon Over The Castle and 95% of Daiki Kaisho's tracks.

GT Sport has an great selection, though. I just don't have enough time with the game to know for sure which are the ones I like the most.

I typically turn my Spotify app on once I start playing GT Sport. I do sing along to some of the GTS tracks when I do listen to them though, especially "Je ne veux pas travallier, je ne veux pas dejeuner.." But I do not listen to any of the GTS tracks outside the game.

I do like the instrumental music in GTS though, so I will sometimes find some random instrumental playlists on Spotify or some French music playlists among others, which through those I've found some artists that I really like.

So I guess in response to the actual thread title "Has Gran Turismo affected your music taste?", then yes, indirectly.

The very first time I booted up GT$ a little over a month ago, the first song that was playing was :
"Je ne veux pas travailler..."

I was very pleasantly surprised that song would even make it as a GT track...

It really set the tone for me... And I was loving GTS within the first 3 min of experiencing it.

I already knew the song years ago and love it (being French myself), so the fact PD/Kaz included here re-enforce the fact that Kaz has very good musical taste... (For the main part, there are some doubtful instances, but I am giving him the benefit of the doubt .

My point here is that: I applaud GT/PD/Kaz for not following the typical car game music trend/feel that dictates techno electro music or Hardcore Rock are the only 2 choices (as EA has fallen flat on its face ....) ... GT dared to go where people would not go musically for this game genre, and it still works (even better), setting it apart and above others...

The fact that they allow us to run our own songs is an awesome option too... But I wish they allow us to mix between their list and ours...

For me, GT strikes as the most balanced, well rounded car game out there... Accessible but not dumb down, Visually striking and musically tasteful for the most part... IMO

I know, but I want to lisyen to that music everywhere at anytime...its not offical published, or something. Hehe

If you scroll down on that link, you will see that there is an official GT5 soundtrack (which is also on iTunes I believe). It doesn't have all tracks however. Nothing official has been published for GT6 but if you search youtube there's plenty of uploads (just search Shirrako channel). There is a way to rip them but it's against AUP so do your own research.
