Hotmail Upgrade?????

I signed in to my Hotmail account to check my messages and was pleasantly surprised. Instead of the normal 2MB storage you get with the free account, I had 250MB. Result. I guess this is to keep in competition with gmail and the like who offer 1GB. There was no warning or mail telling me about this, it just appeared. Has this happened to anyone else?
 
Yeah. It's happened to everyone. They sent an Email a while ago to every Hotmail user explaining that they will be doing this. It is to keep up with Gmail. They also broadened the message sending limit. I can't remember what to though.
 
I don't remember getting any email. I must've deleted it. 2MB still stores alot of emails. I once had over 600 emails, so with 250mg, I should be able to get alot more!:lol:
 
Have you also heard that there going to have a feature in MSN Messenger 7.0 that people have to buy add-ons like smilies, and backgrounds?
 
Yeahwe had an e-mail ages ago about the size upgrade. But it was very vague in the timing. Something like,'this fall'.
It is good, but G-mail is my new e-mail account. I'll just keep hotmail cause all my friends know it.

i paid to upgrade my Hotmail a while ago, i think i got like100mb when i paid. then one day, I got 2G's!!! I'll never use that up! but it's good do know i'll never run out of room. and because i paid, my account will never be deactivated from being idle for a long time.
 
Mine has not upgraded from 2mb! :grumpy:, it is really not enough .....I don't know when they are going to do this for Hotmail UK......
 
Well, it's probably just a matter of time until everybody have their accounts upgraded.

I've never relied on Hotmail alone anyway. I just have it.
 
I've got 250MB, too. Unfortuneatly, I had JUST switched to Gmail. I like the hotmail setup way better, so I think i'll switch back. What a pain in the ass.
 
I think yahoo's offering of 100mb is pretty good for most people. I think I would be off pretty well with 10mb, even with all the spam mail.
 
You like the Hotmail set up better? Gmail is so much faster.

Also, I haven't got the upgrade yet, but I don't care. I only use Hotmail for MSN Messenger now.
