Hey guys rember that press release where they stated that the game was over 9 gigs! Welll now that the game is released I would like to know from someone who owns the game to tell me how big the game is since regular DVDR's can hold 4.7 gigs and Dual layered Disc's can hold 8.5 gigs. I was wondering how they have a game that is OVER 9 gigs and still on one DVD disc? Is this a new type of techonology? I was just curious since I am amazede by how much a little round plastic ( or whatever material it is) can hold so much. Thanks in advance. Oh and I am betting that no one is gonna reply since the owners will be too busy playing GT4  but I hope someone gets tired (yeah like thats gonna happen  ) or their Ps2 fries since it has been on too long.

It all fits on to the disk by MAGIC! :dunce:
No I was asking this questiong since I heard that dual layered disc's were the highest they could go. Plus I never heard of this new type of DVD disc since no one to my knowledge has used it except PD sp I wanted to know if they are telling the truth or BSing.

Who cares? Well unless your planning on a sneaky download/ copy, I don't see why any one would care about the size of a game.

And hell, I can't imagine it's that hard to get dvds that old abit more.

Umm...I dont plan on downloading it since it would be a waste of time. Plus I plan on buying it since PD has put lot of effort into it. The only reason I care is becuase maybe then I can make DVD's of car videos that I can watch it longer rather than having to change the DVD every hour or so.

Hmm.....this has piqued my interest in the true size and type of disc gt4 is in if it is in fact over 9 gigs. Does anyone have the honest answer to this technical question?

Maybe sony developed a special DVD disk for GT4, or maybe they have found a more efficient way of compressing the data.......

Ummm dvds of car vids, well you can fit HOURS of vid on a dvd anyway....
Actually only 120 mins or 2 hours. You see there is this site that where this guy captures races on tv with his video card or something and then he puts them on his site. If you still dont believe me and think I am gonna go burn GT4 here is the site.

Oh and there is another one. Ukf1.net I think.

Pimp racer, I'm not bothered if you burn it or not lol, I was just saying, I thought you could stick quite a few hours on a dual layer dvd.

Oh yeah on dual layered I am guessing you can do at least about 4-5 hours hopefully.
 I dont even know how to burn a DVD and even when I do learn hopefully by tommorow I have no plans doing anything illegal.

Like sure, the only reason your worried about size is from a technical standpoint ;)
Worried? Who is worried?

BTW suprnova is down pimp racer, what ya gonna do ;). Ahh theres allways alternatives tee hee hee.

I'm only kidding :D
 Yeah I heard about that site but I never got it working and then when I did get this bit torents thing working that site was down. Oh well I bet they didnt even have any race fotages anyways.
LoudMusic mentioned a site with Topgear videos to someone now I gotta check that out. http://gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=1372835&postcount=4

Pimp racer, you can stop pretending, it's ok ;)
 No I seriosly think PD deserves the money. Plus I really suck at any games other than racing so there is no point in burning games or whatever. And movies not a big fan of. But cars big fan so thats the only thing I would download things about cars and videos about cars. And no 2fast2furious **** like that for me I hate rice movies. And I hope downloading Topgear videos from the site Loudmusic posted is Legal. If not then I admit I done something wrong. Now where can I hide? Maybe I should move to Alaska?
*EDIT* And if there are still any non believers that think I am gonna burn the game I will take custom pictures just for them. :D If the game comes out anytime soon. In US that is. Except the pictures to be posted here on December 14 2026 since thats when GT4 will be released in the US.

the game is a little over 9 gbs and it fits because they burned data onto portions of the disk which aren't usually used (namely the outside edges).

hehe I was just kidding dude. It was just funny how Code kept pokin' at yah.:D
Oh my bad. But I will still take pics I guess for the heck of it since I am gonna bet that everyone else is gonna post pics so hey why not? BTW you Conon is badass.
