How to change your PS3 Username?

My current PSN Username is Furinkazen. Now I know you cannot change it directly, but I hear you can if you have a second account and swap email addresses.

Thing is, I want to change my name, but I do not want to lose my friends list, or any of my game data. Anyway around this?
 
I emailed soy and asked if I could transfer my purchases to another account. They never answered. I asked 3 weeks ago so my guess is no

I believe that you might be able to call Sony directly and ask them to change it...
Not sure on that one though.

Nope. You can try to transfer SAVEDATA with games which allow it - there aren't many of those - and just send messages to all the friends to re-add you.

Ya Sony haha stupid iPod. Well ya I could call Sony but I would be on hold for an hour too. And I doubt they would transfer purchases.

Here's what you could do. Make your new account and keep your old account active and saved on the ps3. By doing that all the stuff you bought like games and add ons can be used on your new account as well. Only problem with this is any left over funds will stay in your old account. Also don't delete your old account or else you'll no longer be able to use you downloads. I used this method to get all the free games in the welcome back deal and also for my new account which is only used for buying from the store.

Ya I did the same with welcome back. My only problem is that I am very strange... Like I don't like having my purchases on an alternate account. And assuming future purchases would be on the new account, I don't like having it split. It doesn't feel right to me. I know it's dumb.
 
Well what's the big problem with your old account that you need it to be replaced?

You could always just keep using the old account for purchasing.
 
Purchases should be available on all accounts on the system, just create a new user and they will be there. Is how it works for me anyway.
