MAttCV8Fords ****y 5.4L against a Gen4 6.0L V8
Super Jamiein reality, these figures don't even matter, what's best is what your dad brought you up to like best, or who won v8 supercars more when you got into cars, or wether your first car was a banged up commodore/gemini or an equally banged up falcon/escort
Super Jamieboth HSV and FPV get totally smacked down by japanese cars of the same specification (FR performance saloon), so toyota and nissan are better than both
You'll probably prefer the 7 litre HSV might get from GM that is being used in the Corvette.I prefer the GM 6.0L LS2 over Fords hand built 5.4L V8, but I have always been GM biased over Ford.

The Japanese Crap of same specs as Holden gets flogged, I've seen it myself 1001 times. And they are quite different in apperance for anyone with half a brain. And the fact that they're so close in specs makes them in such close competition together. If Holden flogged Ford by a second down the quarter Ford would have no reason to exist in Australia.Super Jamiewho cares? aussies always go on about ford and holden like they're massively different, when in reality they're two almost-same manufacturers making similar cars for the same market, and all that really separates the models is 10kw here or there, and 0.1s over the quarter mile and a few minor interior differences

if you've ever seen a powerful skyline (800hp at the wheels), they don't really have much grip either, even if you're used to the car and trying to drive sensibly, it's hard to keep it from slipping all over the place. i have seen one. several actually
i like your monaro analogy, i'm going to use that but i would take a turbo S15 over any HSV offering. build quality, reliability, value, depreciation. i don't understand why people buy new cars full stop, let alone a hundred thousand dollar commodore
