How would you prefer to score team points?

Only 1 team member scores points? Is that for ease of calculating. It is a lot of work so I totally respect that.
This is mainly so that single driver teams are on a level playing field with two driver teams with regards to points. This eliminates the possibility of a two driver team scoring more than a single driver team that performed better just because they have more drivers to take points.

I hadn't considered that. Understood.

@rex1825 Were you in an on line session when you got those results or was it in TT mode? I have heard that there is a significant lap time difference between the two so I'm just curious about that element of it.

This was MP, but last night got my pace for up to 4 sec on Interlagos after fine tuning... Hitting 1:28s

Fuel is not counted in TT, and tires are always on ideal grip, while in MP when fuel and tires are on, you've got up to 100kg more, and tires are ideal from 95 to 85% tire degradation...

For everyone attending the test session, make sure to join the IRS Discord server (link also posted in OP) since that's where I'll be communicating instructions and such during the races.

As for the test session itself, it will be an open practice lobby for everyone to get used to the cars, and if the people present are interested in doing a short 30 minute race with the formation lap procedure, we could also do that. Hope to see you guys out there!

What time will test be?

I guess I did not read the rules as well as I should have but one driver scoring points? I would have never signed up for the series had I known that. I can't fathom driving for an hour and not a receiving any points. That rule actually makes it completely pointless to be on a team. I have so much more to say on this but I am going to bite my tongue. Once again it is my bad for not reading the rules better. I will be withdrawing my entry.

That's Team points only, not overall. You'd still retain your driver points.

Again, the point is for the single entry teams to not get outscored just because they lack the extra scoring member. But if you're still sure of this decision, then I will promptly remove your entry.

What is the point of being on a team then? Other than information sharing it completely defeats the purpose of being on a team.

You should separate the two. Have a drivers championship and a team championship. If you're not a team you're not part of the team championship. The drivers championship is all for one so you still have to think about beating your team mate.

I want to encourage teams to perform their best and try to finish as high as they could not just settle for a decent points haul. If you're in a two car team you can at least use that information sharing to help both drivers to aim for the best possible result. If one guy struggles at one race, the other could pick up the pace to ensure they still get a good score.

It already is separated. See Results and Standings, there are two separate spaces for each championship.

I stand by my point of parity with the smaller teams but since I feel this discussion will just drag on, I'll let everyone decide on this matter. I want to make sure we're on the same page with this as we go on with the season.

Poll has been added as to how you guys want the teams championship to be scored. The choices are either with the current format of taking only the best finisher, or to add all team members' points for the teams rankings.

Poll will close in 7 days so please vote for your choice.

I'm just used to having championship with teams and individual standings side by side and we never did anything like eliminating the lower driver's score. I'm not in a team either so there's that, but those that are might want a more even championship where they know their points will matter.

When are we racing tonight and just at one track?

I see the pros and cons of what I initially put up, which is why I'm having you guys decide. I don't want to force a points format on everyone that everyone will get up in arms over as the season gets underway. It'll be the majority vote that gets to be applied as we formally start the season and get points on the board, by then everyone will have to deal with the preferred format.

As for the test, room opens in 7 hours and it'll be just at Maggiore GP.

I'll just throw my two cents in here. I understand where everyone is coming from on both sides of the argument. For example a one car team has little chance at beating a two car team, while I think that's more incentive to run a two car team I can understand the desire of some to compete as a single car team. To be honest here if we do run with only the best finishing team driver getting points and I'm ahead of my teammate I won't really give a crap about where he finishes, because it has no effect on the team championship, that's not to say I won't help him try to improve. On the other hand if both drivers score points and my teammate isn't running well I would like to do what I can to help him improve on his results so the team as a whole can improve. Having team points separated kinda takes a little away from the whole team aspect. Could you imagine if F1 only took the top finishing driver's points? Having the points from both drivers counted toward the Team Championship adds the extra factor of look at what we accomplished together as a team, in other words it's more meaningful. If both drivers can pull good results then they should succeed together as a team. If one driver succeeds and another not so much you should see that in the team championship. One last note, I cannot think of any major real world series that have team championships and only keep the best finisher's points (please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). Sorry for the lengthy post.

Basically. I had to rework the lines on the side to better round the front wheel arch, as well as adjust and resize some decals. Thinking of adding more to make it look realistic. Basically all that's on the real Toyota, y'know, things like shocks, brakes, etc.

Let me ask again, @Sassafrass_3, will you still be removing your entry or will this now be dependent on the results of the format poll?

Yeah it will be dependent on the results of the poll. I have a feeling I'm not the only one that scanned over the point section of the rules. Just so we're on the same page, I do see both sides. And really this is my fault for not reading more carefully. But I do want to participate.

Might not be able to make the practice tonight. Need to spend time with the family. They have all chosen to go to the mall and go shopping. So who knows how long that will take.
