Is my iPod giving up on me? I think this because when it was locked I pressed the home button to wake it up but it didn't respond and then I pressed it again and it woke up (this has happened before). Also last week I put my iPod to sleep then a minuet later I went to wake it up but it had turned it's self off (this happened 1 month ago too).

Could be a worn out battery, how long have you had it for and how often do you recharge it?

I have had it for 2 years I think and I charge it daly because how much I use GTPlanet's app .

365 X 2 = 730. You've recharged it about 730 times, so it's probably the battery. You can make a backup of your data and send it in to Apple and have them put a new battery in it, (For $$$ of course, and they format it, so unless you want to lose everything make a backup) or you can just get a new one. I've had mine for a year plus and it's still going strong, though I only recharge it every two or three days. (I know how to make it's battery run a marathon)

How much will is cost for a new battery (in £)?

My iPod just got worse just now. When ever I went onto websights that had videos in safari would just quit so I had to turn of my iPod and turn it back on and it worked.

I have an old 2nd gen and it does this. Unfortunately it's unavoidable and is due to it being older. You have to either get a new one or put up with it... :indiff:

Is this because of the battery or because of how old it is? How long is the warranty?

Edit: Sorry ment to put this in my last message. Admins I'm sorry for double post.

Just how old it is. The processor is pretty outdated, so it can be slow...

No the main cause of the power issuses is your battery. Replacing the battery yourself is cheaper but it can be a headache to work in the itouch since you have to remove the glass and the lcd screen before you have access to the battery. Other options are to have someone replace the battery it, have apple replace the battery, or try selling your old itouch and buy a new one.
