500 Posts in as of the date of this thread, and let me just say.
It has been a pleasure to make forum threads for almost any audience. I even wanted to discuss women in racing, I stood up to NASCAR and all the oval racing series which brown-nose and idolize it, I've shown my love for Le Mans as well as other special endurance races, and of many things, I have made consideration after consideration as to how I've enjoyed my time on GTPlanet.
Now you're asking yourself, "why is this thread in this category?" Well, in my opinion, I think I have never been on a forum with this much respect and this much character. My first thread that I entitled "My Debut," I received about 19 welcomes. It may not sound like much, but we all seem to be so tightly-knitted as a family. To Giles Guthrie, Jordan, the Super Moderators, and the long-time veterans of this forum, I am thankful to be here. Some controversy gets struck when I post a long thread for something that can be said in 200 words or less. But, I am an expressive person, and to be honest, some people actually have had the stomach to take a look at what I have to say. Like my long introduction of "Tuner Culture: Show vs. Go," I think it needs an introduction even if people are not used to the concept or all its subdivisions. I am an expressive person. I am an art person. I consider what I do to be fun and even entertaining. Another example is when I called the Toyota 2000GT one of the most beautiful cars from Japan. I took it a little poetically by calling it a "princess," with a worthy "prince" to drive the 2000GT and appreciate the princess' beauty and prestige. But in no way is the 2000GT a feminine car. It has some manly muscle of its time, 150 horses. I think the cars styling is a little better than the Jaguar XKE or one of the classic Jaguars. In my time, I've seen Solid Lifters with very valid points, my makeshift "review" of GT4 in the "Shipping March 18th?" topic, CobraGT's forums getting locked or flamed on, topics coming and going, but still, GTPlanet is probably one of the best forums I ever done topics for.
if you think I'm leaving based on how this topic sounds, you're sadly mistaken. This is more of my own 500th post celebration. Next for me? 1,000. But this is the best forum I've been on. Past this thread, I'm looking forward to talking about Gran Turismo 4, cool cars, motorsports topics, maybe an opinion, and I'm trying to get a college football thread going in the Off Topic/Sports/Football lineup of threads. I chose college football because I kept hearing of "NCAA Football needs a playoff," and wanted to discuss it further. But anyhow, 500 may not sound like a big deal, but when you can post a topic on one forum site and keep coming back in the future, you know you're working with a great forum site and a great bunch of people. And as long as people remain respectful and staying with the point, you know you're on a great site. No, this isn't a promotion for GTPlanet.net, this is simply my thanks to everyone on here, and I look to continue as much as I can on this site since joining on December 5, 2003. With that said, I'm done here.
Thank you,
