I thought Silvia and Skyline chassis stuff was just bolt in, ie. engines and gearboxes? I guess I'm wrong. Looks good sitting in the engine bay.

Love the Masking tape guard protectors!

Tried starting it friday, It cranks but will not start. First thing I checked were my fuel lines and was curious to see if fuel was getting through. Fuel lines are in the right position and I know fuel is going through the lines (I pulled a hose and it sprayed all over me). Next I checked my CAS (cam angle sensor), I turned it by hand and heard clicking noises which means it is working properly. I checked all my grounds and they're all grounded well. I lastly checked my coil packs. No spark =\

Have to send the harness to get repaired at wiring specialties. It's the main reason why it will not start. Went through 3 ecu's by frying them.

Didn't know the silvertops came with two different plugs for the CAS,IGNITER,ECCS and idle control valve. I had cut the wiring specialties harness and wired it up my self (they emailed me on how I should do it) since I have the older style connectors and the wiring specialties one is only for the newer style =/. Unfortunately after that I fried the 3 ecu's haha.

Finally got these

Gotta get the downpipe bunged for the wideband once I'm done with finals after next week so I can finally take this thing off jack stands.

Busy semester, get my associate degree this month. Plan on using it to get a much better job to save up to earn bachelors.

Had received my harness from wiring specialties a couple of months ago. They modified it for the pre Update RB20's since mine was the older version. Also had bought a filter.

After that finally got car to start today after the 6 months it has been out of commission.

Has a few things I gotta do to get it running right.
-Finish the Vaccuum Lines
-Change plugs, O2 etc...
-Tune it with my SAFC

Also bought new Powered By Max coilovers. Going to order new wheels this Friday and hopefully the rest of my suspension by the end of this month.

And scooped me up this Stadium HKS jacket to go with my collection of Automotive apparel =).

Already a sick collection, where'd you source those?
You gotta be quick, they don't stay online long.

Red Nismo at Constantcollection.com
HKS at kyushaprpducts.com

You can also go to the website Buyee.com and look at yahoo Japan auctions section on the website. Sometimes they appear there.

Ah yeah, I've heard of them and their businesses - sorry to say you overpaid a bit compared to what Kyusha and Constant Collection actually bought them for. I can give you specific figures if you'd like me to.

Buyee is great though, used them a few times. So easy to use.

Yea I know lol, I'm a sucker for this type of stuff unfortunately =P. I wouldn't mind knowing how much I did over pay though.

Hoping to get a Advan Challenger jacket in my size soon. I never can find one in a size large/Us Medium.

Jacket was bought for around $60 if I recall correctly, so around $150 mark-up. Probably closer to $120 to $110 if you factor in shippng and Buyee's fees.

I understand that honestly, I just wish it wasn't as marked up as much as their presentation is fantastic (big sucker for that honestly).

Advan jacket is cool. Nearly bought a rough one myself but went up too much.

So a while back for some reason my RB wouldn't run anymore. It would start for a few seconds but then die if I primed the fuel pump for a few seconds. It would start and die immediately if I didn't prime it. So I thought it was something fuel related so I bought a Tomei fuel pressure regulator and it made everything much better.

After that I started trying to figure out why it wouldn't run on all 6 cylinders. Pulled the plugs and plug 1 and 4 weren't burnt so I assumed my injectors on those two were bad. So I ordered those but I'm still waiting for them to come in the mail.

Ordered tires, 245/35/18 for the rears and 215/40/17 for the fronts. Also bought the ISR suspension package and a few minor things.

Installed my Kouki lights. Best thing to ever do on these S13's. Man I wish I did this earlier. Really makes the car look better.

Need my 5 lug hub conversion and then I can start putting everything on. Will also need to take it to a shop to get my fenders rolled. I know my rear will need a pull for sure.

So I had got the car to run good enough for tuning at one point but it was extremely lean on idle. So I began tuning with my safc. Even with it maxed out on 50+ it was still at 17.7 at idle. I'm like alright il just mess with that later. Began driving on the road to try to do a bit of road tuning.
image.png

Ide say after 3 minutes, I turned around and went back home. This car felt like it was going to blow up. Wideband was jumping around like crazy, it was just too risky. So I told my self I would just get myself a rb20 Maf and cut/wire up my harness to the MAF. This way I won't have to tune it.

When I came home I saw a big puddle of fuel below my tank. At this point I'm just pissed because I think something got messed up or my tank has a leak and I didnt feel like replacing it. Fortunately, I forgot to just put this little ring around my fuel pump =P.
image.jpeg

Sold my z32 Maf and finally got a rb20 one. Wired it up, cars in limp mode. Double check wiring. Check my safc, it's not getting proper voltage. Bad Maf... So I bought another one and boom it's working. Unfortunately can't drive it until my Maf adapter comes in.

Hubs came in today. Just need to buy rotors and fender roll and I can finally put wheels and all my suspension on.

I think these are far better than the R33 wheels. You've done a lot of tasteful mods to the body and to go with R33 wheels wouldn't look anywhere near as fitting as these. Can't wait to see them on the car.

So I started the suspension with my car a while back. Did the front hubs and tension rods. Easy easy.

Emusa's VS. PBM

Rotor was actually too big so I had to buy a different set with drilled holes.

Old oem vs ISR

Stock height at the moment. Need to roll fenders and add camber.
image.jpeg

Was pretty easy. Now the rears should have been just as easy. Unfortunately this car when bought, was extremely rusty.

The rear hub was so rusted, it was like it was glued to the knuckle. I had to hammer it with a chisel like opening a paint can. After three days I finally got the driver side rear off loll....

(You can see the hammering before I did the paint can trick. I was really mad it wasent coming off =\)

Test fitting rears. Needs major pull and unfortunately camber which I was trying to avoid in the rear. Hopefully I won't have to run a lot.

Still need to do the passenger rear then I'm good. Get an alignment and hopefully enjoy the car before the summer ends.

Nice dude. I know how rust is.... It took what should have been a 2-3 hour coilover install on my car and made it a day and a half. Had to fire up the oxy torches. Car is looking awesome. Having to pull the rear is just one of the benefits (or not lol) of having a multilink rear. I'm assuming you'll be running at least a couple degrees of camber in the front, so having a smidge in the rear will hardly be noticeable.

Yea it honestly just sucks. I really need to invest into torches because it was such a pain the ass haha.

Thanks, yea I'm hoping have the camber in the front dosent make the rear seem too bad.
Been lurking on this thread for a while. Awesome looking car! I love the new wheels.
Thanks!

That looks really good.

I am have mentioned it before but this is one of my favourite cars, if I were to get one it would be red with a black roof but white looks really clean.

Red is one deadly combo on this car for sure. There has been many thoughts of going red whenever I get a real paint job in the future.

Finally got to drive the car with my new wheels put on(really drive it, not just across the street) but it ran awful for a minute. Had trouble starting and driving. Thought maybe the plugs. Get to changing them and found a much bigger problem.
image.jpeg

Coilpacks were soaked with oil. I totally forgot I never changed the valve cover gasket when the engine was out. I was so mad, took me forever to get it all out. Ordered new gaskets from frsport and changed the plugs and oil. Everything was much better. Started and sounded much better.

As soon as I attempted to leave the driveway. I hear scraping from my exhaust. Due to my downpipes weird design. Had this thing sticking out from the sides just hitting the ground constantly.
image.jpeg

Got that cut and finally gave it a good drive that it needed, well really what I needed. It felt awesome, I honestly fell in love with this car all over again. Decided to park it near this parking lot and take pictures of it. Been too long since I've done this haha.

Next mods probably won't be until August or until I know how much money I have left after school takes it all....

Will mostly be interior and exterior mods. Really been thinking about getting a group A vent and making a hot road clone out of my car, but that would result in having to go a little aggressive with my aero (kouki skirts, vented hood and so on) and I really love how simple it is right now. We will see what happens.

Incase you guys don't know what hotroad looks like.

This is how she sits at the moment.

A while back I got a escort solo 3. I wanted to get a valentine but I hate cords so freaking much even though they perform the best. So I settled with a solo s3. Haven't been able to test it though, will explain why in a bit...
image.jpeg

Went to final bout central stage in Wisconsin (6.5hr drive) and saw the legend him self camryonbronze car. Him and a few others were staying at the same hotel as us.
image.jpeg
Looked at his car for a good hour lol. Loved how his rear end looked so I had decided to drop mine as well but I didn't like how my car looked with the rear end that low.
image.jpeg

Lost the sporty look it had so I raised the rear end back up.

Now, I've been driving without my water temp gauge wired in correctly. I was using my stock cluster gauge. Little did I realize that the rb20 coolant temp sensor will not read correctly with the 240 stock cluster. Thankfully I really haven't driven this car far since I haven't got a alignment.

So I decided to wire up my water temp gauge and drive it pretty far. Well... I hit 201 degrees. I'm like, what the hell.
image.jpeg

Operating temp is suppose to be between 175-185. So I begin to bleed it again. Still hitting above 200. Change thermostat, still hitting above 200. Water pump changed, still f*#~ing hitting above 200. I'm thinking, ok it's just this cheap eBay water temp gauge. So I buy a gas grill thermostat and place it near where my sensor is. Well they both read the same amount. A bit puzzled because my fans are set to turn on at 180f degrees and turn off at 160 but they only turn on when hits about 200f. I have to use my override switch. I'm going to probably try to bleed the system one more time.
image.jpeg

If it's still getting hot. I plan on buying upper and lower duct, oil cooler and mix my own coolant with Toyota antifreeze.

So I haven't been able to test the radar detector because of the common RB overheating issue. I mean I drive down the block but that's about it.
image.jpeg

Plus I'm really enjoying my Audi. Such a comfortable daily haha.

Wow JD, your S13 is looking so good! Love the hard work and dedication that you put into her. 👍 Keep it up! And if you are still havibg problems with the oil guages, have you looked into some better guages from other companies that have better quality than that ebay?

And good luck with the RB cooling system, can't wait to hear about your custom coolant mixtures. As much as I love the RB series, I do know that the cooling section of the engine is a major thing to tackle. Even if I had one, that eould be the first thing on my mind, especially living in Vegas with summers reaching 100 degrees and climbing!

But great work regardless! :)
